You have me confused with someone else. I would rather buy a whole sim than put up a privacy screen. In fact, I did.

I meant that more as "the screen in your comment" and left out everything but "your screen". Sorry.

/retracts claws. ![]() Why did I even bring it up? Bad Raymond... Now now. A kitty and a hamster in a fight . . . my wimpyist kitty (and I've had some) would take your strongest effeminate hamster. Really amazing, sometimes, when you see your very lazy, wimpy kitty suddenly spring into action and remind you, yes kitties were wild once. Some breeds more recently than others, but I haven't had any of those breeds. _____________________

Well, on the plus side, we're not talking about privacy screens any more... If you have one, it's better if the cat is declawed so it can't destroy the screen. _____________________

If you have one, it's better if the cat is declawed so it can't destroy the screen. My kitties destroyed my shoji screen without having front claws. They kept leaning their fat little bodies on it and eventually popped through. _____________________

Never mind that. It is becoming another Evil Americans thread. Yes, because it is apparently illegal to declaw your kitty anywhere in the world except in the USA (what, you mean the UK and Australia are not the only other places in the world other than the USA? oops). _____________________

hehe i know what declawing is but I must say that they dont care Who doesn't care? Cats? They surely do, their instincts just prevent them from showing signs of weakness if they can. But think about the way they carry their weight...forward, on their toes. How would you feel if someone amputated the tips of your toes and then made you walk around in high heels and dig in sand until they healed? There are no wheelchairs or crutches for kitties, and a large percentage of cat owners DO see personality changes and litter box issues with their pets after a declawing. I worked in vet clinics growing up, took a lot of pre-vet classes with my Zoology degree, and managed a pet store for a number of years. I've always discouraged declawing based on the things I learned in those situations, but adopting my kitty Smokey about 10 years ago really brought home the point for me. His previous owners had him declawed, apparently not long before they gave him to the shelter. His paws were healed externally, but you could not touch his feet without causing him obvious discomfort for nearly a year after I adopted him. He also had an unfortunate tendency to pee on the carpet during that period, but gradually stopped doing it over time. Since he was almost 4 at the time I adopted him, my guess would be that they declawed him to prevent damage to the furniture, then gave him up when the declawing led to the eliminatory issues...it certainly wasn't his personality, because he's the closest thing to a living teddy bear that I've ever seen. Some cats heal faster, with few issues, and if the option is between declawing and giving the cat a potential death sentence by releasing it to a shelter, then certainly go with the declaw. But it shouldn't be done lightly or as a matter of course...it should be the absolute LAST choice. Btw, those caps are very lightweight...most cats don't even notice them after a day or two and virtually all that I've seen are OK with them within a week, whatever their natural personality quirks. I've always wondered why givinga cat a hysterectomy to stop them from having babies or castrating a male cat to stop him from making babies with a female was looked at as humaine while declawing is not. 1) It's for the greater good of feline kind...lots of kittens, most of which will probably be euthanized, or quick surgery on a a far lesser number of cats, which is the better choice? 2) Castration is not a traumatic surgery and sometimes doesn't even require external stitches because the incisions are so small. 3) Spaying IS more physically traumatic, but human females have hysterectomies all the time, so it's obviously not cruel and unusual. Also, unspayed, unbred female cats often develop health issues related to their reproductive organs...unless the owner intends to breed them, leaving them intact can actually be bad for them. Humans will have themselves sterilized under the right circumstances, but I've never heard of anyone volunteering to have their toes amputated for no good reason. *shrug* _____________________

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things. Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut. |

Being facetious. Please don't ever make me spell that word again (just having a go!) heh, what does "having a go" mean? "Taking a piss". What does that mean? "having a go". facetious 1592, from Fr. facétieux, from facétie "a joke," from L. facetia, from facetus "witty, elegant," of unknown origin, perhaps related to facis "torch." It implies a desire to be amusing, often intrusive or ill-timed. "Facetiæ in booksellers' catalogues, is, like curious, a euphemism for erotica." [Fowler] I didn't mean to be ill-timed or erotic. _____________________

ok, well 'you having a go?' is somewhat like deniro saying 'you talkin to me?'
taking the piss is like mocking or making fun. heh, what does "having a go" mean? "Taking a piss". What does that mean?
