Is there something wrong with me?

One of acquaintances SL marriage lasted only few weeks she wanted more of his time, he didn't have it to give.
Not everyone has the time or energy to spend either with others.
I go through periods I am on busy whole lot and I am not feeling social because I am mediating or multi-tasking when I am in SL, usually in photoshop or doing something else while listening to music,etc. but I always respond eventually unless I fell asleep at the computer. Hehe

I had a lovely visit with Yummy yesterday, and can attest that I found absolutely nothing wrong with her. Beautiful, interesting, funny, and willing to see same in others.

She had a sardonically creepy friend who didn't seem to appreciate my presense, but perhaps he's that way with everyone. But I'm sure she knows to leave him at home when trying to meet people.

She took the advice above and put an SL pic in her SL tab, which I think is a good idea. Nice to be able to remember & recognize an av from that photo, if nothing else.

One thing Rha touched on could be part o the problem too, I find in SL store oveners are our minor celebrity, and that could lead to some intimidation.

I remember one night I was in a club and Nomine Munchflower came in and my friend went Ga-ga ..it was like half an hour of her going "OMG it's Nomine! and we are in the same Sim! OMG OMG!! I own 16 of her skins!!! OMG!! OMG!!"

and now that I think about it, poor Nomine never did get up and dance. she ended up sitting on a bean bag chair for half an hour then ported out. .. I bet she was feeling the same as you.

I also agree what you put in your profile makes a difference as well as your groups. Putting in your "Queen of the Damned" or some such is not a way to "break the ice"

I think I have trouble meeting guys because I have several bdsm and lesbian clubs listed, but I dont do bdsm 24 hours a day, I love "normal" as well. And im Bi ...which hello! means I like guys too you know!

One time I went to nice dance club, all the ladies in gowns and the guys in suits ... and finely a guy with a very nice avatar asked me to dance! ... I nervously said yes and got on a slow dance ball set with him and we started talking, it went like this:

me: so do you come here often to dance?
him: Oh yes, im here every night, I actualy work here.
me: that's nice, what do you do here? DJ? Host?
him: No, im a male escort. i'm hired to dance with the unescorted ladies...
me: *sigh*

and here I thought maybe on a outside chance he just liked my av's looks .....

Yummy, you sound like me in my early days, your AV is a workhorse. You spend most of your time working and your mind doesn't really relax. I never had any type of relationship on Denise but I got to a point where I burnt out working and nearly all my freinds were actually customers.

I made a new AV, did her up and started using her for roleplaying and socializing, things changed a lot. The new AV wasnt' known as a business person and I found I relaxed more in her.

I now have an SL partner on my Alt who knows both accounts as hide nothing and am very happy having two sides of me here

Maybe I should start playing my alts when I want to relax..hmmm..it just doesnt feel normal being on them, tho, its almost like borrowing someones clothes, strange analogy, but its true.

Oh, no apology necessary Yes, he's "different". I found it amusing. Don't know if I would, if he continued the same kind of jokes all the time, but I suspect he'd come up with all sorts of different ones and I'd never know what to expect.
