How old is old?

I think its more what you do in SL than a rez-day.... I feel old because I taught as a SL Instructor which is gone now and did Live Help a long time which is also gone now omg Im killin off things!!!!

No one that came after they opened the flood gates in 06/06/06 will ever be old.

For the forums, if you came after 09/11/06 you cant be old. Although thats just a working theory.

An alternative would be if you never read a new Official Forums General Thread started by Prok you cant be old.

In the past few months oldbies have been posting in the forums more than they were when I started. *happy dance* Even in a community this young, some of the older members add a calming perspective.

And, of course, some are rampant flamers. That can be fun too.

If you remember when the Lindens made hourly inworld announcements of events, your gettin old I you remember when there was one WA, your getting old. And rememeber the balloon rides at that WA, your getting old. Or remember the shooting gallery next to the WA, your gettin old. Remembering Stage 4 will age you also hehehe.

A little while back this guy buys some land near me and comes over to introduce himself. I look at his profile and see he is a charter member. He told me that he logged in on opening day, February of 03 I think, but did not have a good enough computer to play until now. So I spent some time helping him catch up and answering questions, many of which are the same ones asked by day-old newbies.

He should have his born on day revoked

I consider accounts older than mine to be oldbies and newer than mine to be newbies. I think actually being in-world often enough counts more than having created your account first.

I seem to have misplaced my walker Its silver with black handles and chrome spinner wheels, oh, and lotsa bling bling.

I condsider anybody who joined before me oldbie in my own eyes.

The great majority of people who jump into threads to add nothing other than "I've been here since 200x and this has been happening ever since then, so deal with it!" are 2003/2004 accounts, so that's what I consider old. And senile.

Who knows- maybe I'll be finger-wagging at all the hapless >2005 whippersnappers in exasperation two years from now. But I doubt it.

i'd say that if you were 'born' in March 2008 or earlier, you're old now.

Ive been in SL since 04... My name is listed as heritage as well, but they must've reopened and closed it again cos it has 2007 on slnamewatch under Lomax..

I was originally 2003, my last name was Chen, can't even find it on SLnamewatch.

I have never considered myself an oldbie.. I started 10/05..yet every now and then I run into someone that has something like this to say.." OMG Lexii, you are the oldest person I have ever seen!" ugh..... I myself have run into many people with born dates of 04 and I consider them old.

I don't care how long folks have been on usually, I have met about just as many stupid or snobby 1 month-olds as I have 4 year users. I consider anybody before late 2005 an "oldbie" too...but really SL is pretty new, when you think about what the "vision" is. If it was just an MMORPG, I would consider 1 year "old".

If you were around at least 6 months before flexi-prims, I shrug and call ya an oldbie.

Actually I always thought anyone who was a beta tester was an oldbie (from 2002 to early 2003). Sorry Teeny! By the way, I've always loved your name.
