Good - they should help with your *ahem* small problem. I mean the constipation. I don't they they can help you generally, you're stuck with that I'm afraid.

To help with visual identification, here is the best photo I was able to take of Magellan from Nova Albion's 2nd Anniversary celebration back in 2006.

Get Os on the case - we need MISSING! posters right away! Maybe Cubey can display them on the side of his blimps? Or on banners behind planes?

Let's not get sidetracked here. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I c'n add it to the list, along with the shirts an signs (and the big milk carton) I've already done. :-)

I've also thought about doing a "street art" texture for it too, but I'm not sure how my folks'd feel about me doin' graffiti!!

Perhaps JS Tomorrow knows more than he is telling? http://jstomorrow.blogspot.com/Or the av known as Phinneus Darcy knows more?

Reading more I found this http://www.secondlifeinsider.com/tag/magellan+linden/

so many questions now are flooding my mind and just who is Trish?

I did an inworld Search on the two spellings for this person mentioned on these related web sites–Phinneus Darcy/Phinneas Darcy–and found neither showed up in the list. I don't recall seeing a Darcy among the crew of the HMS Malamute in Magallan's blog. Maybe he's on a different grid now? Magellan too for that matter.

http://secondlife.blogs.com/magellan/

I really need to go through those logs in more detail, I've probably missed something. There's a lot of stuff there.

p.s. JS Tomorrow does have an inworld profile. The only group showing for her was the Involvium group, which was open enrollment. I joined temporarily and found out that her last day inworld was fairly recent... March 5th 2008. There is no profile for a "Trish Tomorrow." Her sister may not share the same last name.

There were some who said that Involvium was no more than a first life company's publicity stunt revolving around re-branding. If that was so, then it's no wonder they staff mentioned don't show up on Magallen's ship rosta.

I've tried to contact JS over the last few months but to no avail - maybe someone on this list would have more luck?

I had a funny dream last night, and I hesitate to mention it, but Magellan was in it. In this dream he was sitting on a metal-bound wooden seachest in a small boat that was being rowed - or moving, anyway. It was nighttime, and ships were moored all around.

There was an engraved metal plate on the chest that said "The Leon," and after a bit someone pointed to a ship and said, "There's the Leon." Magellan didn't say anything. He was chained to the chest, though.

Was he in his usual outfit?

Yikes-- chained, as in, he was being taken forcibly to this ship?

It was just a dream, though. He looked grumpy but then he ALWAYS looks grumpy. "Ship" could be any kinds of ships - not just the ones on the sea.

Does anyone know any Leons?

He was certainly grumpy at the 2nd Anniversary. Drunk and grumpy. Gruff. Almost like he didn't want to be there, but had to make an appearance. When I had invited some of the Lindens to the ceremony I had asked if they could forward on an invitation to Magellan... never expecting that he'd actually show up!

I saw dis page http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Roles which lists Magellan as inactive, with the note "Not officially retired, but blog updates just petered out... " - makes me wonder if not even the Lindens know his whereabouts.

Th' same page sez dat Pony Linden went to the glue factory. Was she takin' a tour or someting?

Mari

That's an unofficial and very out-of-date and incomplete page.

He must not like making appearances at public events. 'Drunk, grumpy and gruff'.... I can just imagine what it must be like to be part of his team! :D

The more I read about Magellan, the more I want to see a series of machinimas about his adventures... like Indiana Jones, only grumpier. It'd be fantastic. :)

Grumpy Old Magellan - starring Ian McKellen

Titanic - The story of Magellan Linden's ego.

It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World - starring a not very happy Magellan Linden

2008: A Metaspace Odyssey - starring Magellan... in spaces!

When Magellan Met Sal - a drunken binge at an anniversary celebration takes a sober turn when the drunkee becomes the dunkee at the hands of the shindig's host and a colonial party goer.

Mutiny on the HMS Malamute - A disgrunted crew member, yes even more disgruntled than you-know-who, turns on his mates and sabotages the ship, stranding them on an uncharted atoll.

Gone With The Everchanging Wind - a captive Magellan is spirited aboard The Leon, an unregistered vessel that slumbers in the waters just off Osprey Cove. The vessel doesn't register on radar, sonar or even a gini. Boy is he grumpy!

I worked for someone like that once... I was self-employed at the time!

Is it possible his attitude was the cause of his disapperance? Could he be held in some Linden Re-Education Camp learning how not to abuse the letters SL?

Somewhat likely. Seriously, like some lost, seafaring legend -- sailing leagues!

Silly loons.

Off We Go!

Looks like we need to step up this search. I'll send everyone who showed interest a notice to get together this weekend for a first meet up. We'll make plans, go over strategy and divvy up tasks so we can start the search for Magellan in earnest.

Till then, onward and upward!

Great news Sal - be aware that Sat afternoons are TSMGO rehearsals (2pm SL) and Sundays are Combat Cards (1pm SL). I'm free from 12noon SL (give or take 10 mins) most days.
