Off topic but somewhat related. Yesterday I spoke with my young niece who lives in DC. Here office is closed tomorrow so they won't have to fight the crowds and traffic jams to get to work. She was telling me about seeing famous people since she started working in DC. She told me about seeing Springsteen while dining out with friends on Friday. Then she told me about how she almost ran over Newt Gringrich as he crossed the street against the light. I told her she should drive faster. _____________________

I will be at a party with a large group of people and several TVs (at least one projecting onto a screen) plenty of food, drink, and desserts. It will last from mid morning until late afternoon. If I could be assured that something would go wrong with the radio signals and the chips buried in the brains of all the government officials, media and entertainment bigwigs would all explode at once, then I might watch. But instead I think I will wander to the cattle pasture that is down from my house and watch the bull defecate. Won't be much difference at all from the speeches and reporting.
