A panthers view on Eartheans

Tal Sisters

I am a panther, a proud panther who would never submit to the weak. In fact I'd never submit at all. I love to be free and fight for it.

The other day somebody told me, there is a planet on the other side of the sun with a totally different society then ours on Gor. Everybody is free there. So they say! Appealing isn’t it? It did appeal to me, being a panther, so off I went and see if its true…I am of a curious nature.

I went to discover that planet myself. Imagine a world where you don’t have to hide as a strong woman. It’s a world with no collars, no slaves, men and woman being equal. Too good to be true? Indeed.

From a distance the planet is so beautiful, glamorous even. It only has one moon, which appears a bit strange at first but you get used to it after a while. Gravity is different there and the air is full of little smoke particles caused by numerous small and big fires. Eartheans love fire and smoke - but that is a different story.

When I came, it really looked like everybody is free, extremely free. Nobody wears a collar, never!

Now this is bizarre: I went to a place called a nightclub. That’s a place where Eartheans hang out to talk, dance, drink some weird stuff and hope to find consensual sex partners.

Most just drink and talk.

It’s a bit like our taverns just not as beautiful and much louder. Eartheans make a lot of noise. I think it's somehow related to the stuff they drink. The most bewildering thing was, that there were dance pole were free woman were dancing almost naked and nobody collared them.

A man started a conversation with me. At first I thought he wants to capture me and I drew my dagger went in defensive position. He ran away –just like that – can you believe?

Then I realized, hey they don’t have slaves they don’t capture panthers. So, to the next one who approached me I was a bit more moderate in my reaction, still on guard but tried to answer him “friendly”.

I asked him: does nobody here submit? Oh yes he said, everybody does.

Excuse me?

Everybody is a slave? I asked in astonishment. No, he said, we are all believers!

Ah ha?

Now, I will explain what he told me then. I hope you will understand. It’s really bizarre and difficult to explain but I try:

Apparently all Eartheans have an imaginary master. They call him God. This master exists in various forms and various rules depending where you are.

Some people who imagine the same master in some sort of mass hysteria, join together in tribes. These tripes have all strong rules, a bit like in Gor, just that the rules are not made by a man but a God they have and make hardly any sense. Some “gods” are said to prohibit sexual relations unless for reproduction.

Weird indeed.

Other rules prohibit eating certain things. So one tribe can’t eat a certain meat which the next one can and vice versa.

Now everyone believes his master, or god, is the better or stronger one. Whereby on Earth stronger is not necessarily better. They argue a lot who has the "better" God and who’s rules to follow is more appropriate.

Believe it or not they go to war about that. Yes you read right. They kill each other about an imaginary master! The tribe who wins the war, makes the loosing one to submit to the master they have in mind, Yes in mind, nowhere else.

Apparently they do that since many years. Don’t believe it when you are told there are no slaves on Earth – in fact there are ONLY slaves of masters they made up in their mind.

I felt so free when I came back to Gor.

Aye

Maggie of Troy

Edit: imaginary, tribe, as suggested, thanks!

Hmm possibly, nothing wrong with panthers, if I was a kinky roo, I'd be involved in female humans :)

In that case Maggie, you could help yourself by reading the best of English literature.

The other word you were searching for was imaginary.

Great post Maggie.

I worship the One True God, Rosedale, who came down to Grid in the form of Philip Linden. Of course many say He does not exist - they point to the Griefers; Begetters of Ponzi Schemes; the Ad Farmers and say, "If God does exist, how could He allow this?".

Excellent, this one. Will he sooner or later get nailed on a cruzifix, somewhere on the main land, alongside with an ad-farmer and a griefer?

It won't take long

I am sure there some people sitting in front of the screen with an open mouth, thinking "how can they dare to hurt our religous feelings", usually the same people who point their finger at Goreans or people otherwise different.

Just thinking..Is there a virtual hell in SL?

It's crucifix dear. I was once asked to do an animation for a crucifixion for one of the Roman sims. Very difficult though - you can't morph faces in SL. Not possible to really show the pain of it.

It doesn't make sense drunk or sober, Bradley.

I think I need to go on an "ignore" button rampage today. Either that or just stay away from the forums entirely. This is all getting to be a bit much.

I was just providing a hopefully entertaining post, as food for thought for those people who think Gor is bizarre and should be banned.

The main point is: everything is bizarre depending from where you look at it, hence the title: A panthers view on Eartheans.

Maybe its asking or baiting for tolerance on Goreans wrapped in a funny story? I am sure there are intelligent residents out there to debate the subject without the question being asked bluntly.

Humour is an approach that softens most controversial topics.

MAggie

Here a good article on the topic
