I can see a variety of professional using Myspace as Michael says, but why anyone else over the age of 16 would want the banalities of their lives plastered across the internet is beyond me. My life barely interests me at times.

At the moment I cant remember if I have a location in my bio and Im not in world to check *scrunches up face to think* Now, if people ask, I always just say I am in the States and let them ask again from there if they want more details. Im not afraid of a stalker, as some in game have actually told me, honestly....I will just sick my 2 horse like dogs on them and 4 kids..THAT ought to scare off anyone

That is absolutely ridiculous Colette--Myspace is not just for kids. Do you want to tell all the independent film companies and musicians I know you said that? Do you know how much traffic and attention comes from MS film and music? Obviously you don't, or you wouldn't have labeled it the way you did.

MS is also a great portfolio, resume, and bio for an actor/designer (among other things).

You couldn't be more wrong. I think you're thinking of Facebook...totally different. That's for kids. Kids in college.

I'm not upset...don't mean to come off this way. It's just, for someone as intelligent as you (yes, you are), I would have expected differently.

Myspace is for kids (meaning under 25 ) and those wishing to attract their notice. Which includes those you describe.

Its the Internet version of what MTV was in 1985.

Of course as a side benefit they attract the people who still think they are with it. The ones the kids have decided are lame.

Option two: to hook up.

I think that's just what I was saying. We ALL can.

Good that you realize it goes two ways....

And as stated before, my RL location has been here on the forums since my first message here.... and I brag all the time about my country in game... So no, there is no relation to use of voice and mentioning the RL location as it seems (*looks shocked* there are even people in game who know to which town I life close). That should answer one of your question....

Morwen.

Most of the musicians, actors, movie makers, and friends I have are OVER 25.

Not sure what you think you know...I understand there are a TON of kids...but out of the miiiiilions of accounts, many are not kids.

A handful of employers now are searching for people's MS accounts to decide on hiring...that's pretty important if you ask me.

Looking to hook up in a place full of teenagers isnt only lame -its irresponsible.

You do know what "Hook up" means in the Myspace generation, right?

What part of my post was the hard to follow? Theier target audience by being on My Space is under 25.

And those who want to think they still are hip to the under 25's.

Also, I would seriously, evenhandedly be curious whether those that chose not to add that information, are the same that don't use voice. This is totally impartial science.

Thanks for the time.

Michael Bigwig impartial on whether people who decline to use voice are hiding something. Well, blow me down with a feather.

Sorry Michael, but that is, as my American cousins might say, a crock.

Me? No location, no voice. Now, what am I hiding, eh?

And you know what they about science. Scientists pretty regularly get the results they want from 'pure' research. Good luck to you, mate.

Kids now a'days are either going to 'hook up' with someone, or they aren't. MS only makes it slightly more convenient. Whether it's at the club, the corner store, the library, or MS...it's going to happen. Don't blame technology.

And it's not just teens hooking up...it's ALL ages...MS is like the free dating service you never wanted.

Of course...this doesn't mean it can't be totally professional, hip, and smart business.

We all are judgmental at times--we would be hypocrites to say otherwise. But I was seriously wanting the know if there was a direct correlation or not.

I was just wondering why so many of you choose not to include your location in your bio

I don't wanna. :p

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Im not playing an angle you ignored the part of my post where I explained that those people you refered to saw the Kids as a target demographic, and instead painted a picture that I somehow didnt think those people could be over 25.

Either that or they are also in the group of those who want to still think they are with it.

-----------------------

BTW its not an angle - if there is evidence that its true.

I have no interest in widely disclosing my RL location. I don't do it in world either. There are a handful of close friends in world who know, and other than them, no-one knows, which is fine with me. I like to keep a division between my RL and my SL.

MySpace baffles me as well. I have zero, zilch, interest in disclosing anything like that about my personal life on the internet. I see it as a generational thing, as well -- with mostly younger people and people who are trying to attract and/or market to younger people.

Or wanting to find a correlation? Hide one thing, hide another?

Mike what is it you call this "spread the reality around" stuff again?

You would bring it up in the Voice debates and in the Identity Debates.

I don't meet to be heated...I apologize. It's just for someone as 'informed' as Colette is...making a completely inaccurate, blanket statement like that is something I needed to respond to.

It's irrelevant here.

It's relevant on my first life profile tab in-world because I occasionally meet people with whom I'd like to share that information. These forums not being for general discussion  I fail to see what my location has to do with important on-topic issues like scripting, sculptie prims, and Brenda's panties.

Yanno, I met my husband online in 1999, back when it was a scandal.....I'm thinkin' I'm pretty glad he put in his location because thats why I sent him a message (met on a forum). Had he not...I wonder. Locations arent always a bad thing, having your state or a general area (southern part of state etc).

Not even going to go into the myspace thing, I never got into that one really. I made a page and, uh, well, that was a few years ago and that was it. I did an slme page too...wonder if I should log on and peek at that thing o.O
