It's all in plain view. I mean anyone on the street at that time could see Joe coming out of the strip joint, so there isn't any "reasonable expectation of privacy" under the Constitution. The police can come by your neighborhood and look at what is on your property, what is visible from the street, and take pictures of it with sophisticated cameras, without any need for a search warrant. They can also do the same from helicopters or other aircraft. As long as something is in "plain view" that is accessible visually from property where you are permitted to be, there is no expectation of privacy from any kind of surveillance or filming. Unless there is another decision, there is some protection from some types of scanning. There as a Federal appeals Court case in which the police were using thermal scanning to detect houses with "hot spots" that would indicate grow lights. This was struck down as unConstitutional. But then it may have changed since that case. _____________________

Just for lolz, I thought getting back to the OP would be a refreshing change of pace.
My location: The Top of California, is as close as anyone is going to find out where I live. I've been on the Internet literally since the beginning - before there was a web. I've known about way too much bad stuff happening because someone got too careless with their personal info. But I will narrow it down a bit: the top 1/5 of California. Well above Chico. I do include it in my SL profile. I do not, nor will I ever use voice. And I have a good reason: I'm partially dyslexic. I've got a tough enough time writting so that people understand what I'm trying to say. Trying to listen to more than one other voice at a time is just too much for my jumbled neurons to handle. Everything gets jumbled if I try to focus on more than one feed at a time. It really sucks. I especially hate meetings when more than one pair of people start having different conversations. If I try to hear it all at once, then I lose all of it. I can focus my attention on one voice, but then I litterally can't hear any thing else that goes on. So, no voice for me. At least text has history so I can go back and re-read what I missed the 1st few times. _____________________

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things. Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut. |

i totally agree that this happens to people. although not on this bbs, ive had this experience myself. ppl seemed to disagree with my comments simply because i was the person that made them. what was said was secondary to who had said it. if i said 'the sky is blue' i would have somebody arguing that the sky isnt actually blue, it just appears to be, then the entire board would voice agreement. of course i would then be forced to split hairs and analyse every comment made and every response i offered. because of that i was then accused of being condescending, smug, and 'thinking im always right'. in return i would point out that 'of course i think im right, i dont debate something if i think it is wrong...'. more proof i am condescending
see how that works?now i also understand some of the critisism against michael. hes a bit abrasive hey. but i reckon ppl know how to push his buttons as well. I think a major problem with this forum is that many of you throw a label on someone, and whenever you read a post by them, you subconsciously pick out any possible way to disagree and continue the drama. That needs to stop. Stop seeing a post by a person, and preparing--even before you read it--to disagree and debate against. I swear, it's like you do everything in your power to either twist around what I've said, or disagree all together. Why can't we just subjectively read a post...and stay open minded? Please. |
