I wish you hadn't done that. I was taking a bunch of kids on a field trip. It's a trip they will never forget. |

yes its true and I dont always think ppl are really perving every time they look at an avatar either, just wanted to say that. yes true, but you can also tell when someone says brb afk and their pointer is moving all over, I think this is a great function in more ways than one. |

When I see tattoos I'll usually cam in on the avie whether male or female and 'stare' at the tat. Interesting non-human avies will get some rubbernecking from me too. The up skirt cam shots got old back in '05 after an hour of that 'ooohhh look what ya can do' playing like a kid with a new toy.

Well, the prevalence of prim skirts and glitch pants must kind of take a lot of the fun out of it anyway, I'd think. Personally, I HATE glitch pants: I loathe looking like I am wearing HUGE boxers . . . _____________________

If anyone catches you just tell them they appear as a green mist and you were trying to get them to rez correctly or tell them they are all gray and need to rebake. They'll probably ask you to look at them again to verify if their rebake worked. People are so vain... works every time.

many legit reasons to focus on an avi... ![]() Yes. Sounds like the person who IM'd the OP took it as a reason to flirt. But, people can look at avatars for the same reasons people look at other people, or animals, in real life - boredom, curiosity, idle thoughts like "cute doggy" or "wonder where she got that outfit..." I like to see what people have done with their avatars, and if someone's avatar looks like it's at all unique I will cam in closer to see if I've seen the skin they're using before. I look at other people's avatar as not only a form of expression but a form of art. |

Lol! That's one I hadn't heard of. For bonus points, be facing the other direction and click on a prim somewhere in front of you then slide your cam back behind you to what you want to be looking at. Then your head won't turn either, even if the stands in your AO normally allow it to turn and follow your view. LOL I am sounding so creepy right now. I'm not even going to try and explain the innocent uses I put this stuff to, it's far too late and nobody will believe me. _____________________

I'm trying to imagine an "innocent use" for this information . . . It's because you look best in right profile? So you don't want to turn your head when you look, spoiling the aesthetic effect that others are no doubt enjoying? _____________________

Like a candle I am, selflessly casting a bit of light into the dark sad lives of those fortunate enough to be in my presence but not quite fortunate enough to actually be as awesome as me. And I manage to pull it off with such humility too! _____________________

Anyway, there we were chatting away, not about hair, and suddenly my hair comes cascading down round my shoulders. Our interlocutor says, "I hope you didn't mind but I saw you were wearing that new hair by so-and-so, and it looks really good, and I'd read about how you can let it down and I wanted to see how that works". I thought that was going a bit far. _____________________

I'm trying to imagine an "innocent use" for this information . . . Photography (and not only cam stalking voyeurism). People use camera tricks like that all the time. _____________________

Let me get this straight: the 'Show Look At' thing only works if we use Alt + Click with the mouse to focus the camera on an av? I'm only asking because I prefer to use the Alt/Ctrl/Shift and arrow keys combo to work my camera.
And yes, I am a perv. I look up skirts and everything. |

Basically, "show look at" is one of those things you can turn on in the advanced menu, sort of like bounding boxes or wireframe. it's useful for knowing whether or not someone is caming in on you. If you're alone, and see two sets of 3d crosshairs near you, or especially ON you, you're being watched. The 3d crosshairs represent camera focus and they're ALWAYS there--whether you actually see them or not. The emerald viewer makes them especially easy to use by taking them out of the advanced menu and making them an easy to find option, and tagging them, so now you know who is doing the watching. _____________________

Here what the different colors crosshairs mean when you have ‘show look at’ turned on:
• Nothing - dark gray • Idle - light gray (look straight forward) • AutoListen - light gray (look at avatars and objects that are talking around you) • FreeLook - blue (follow the mouse cursor) • Respond - black (look at someone when typing a response to them) • Hover - green (look at the object your mouse is hovering over, when tooltips enabled) • Conversation - dark blue (look at someone after clicking on them) • Select - pink (look at the selected object) • Focus - purple (look at the alt-zoom target) • Mouselook - yellow (follow cursor in mouselook) _____________________

The hair creator who forgot to do a check for llDetectedTouch(0) == llGetOwner() needs to be whacked by a pie. I have hair like that too, a couple of them. And, the hairsticks that hold the hair in the updo, are removeable by 'either' the owner only OR 'anyone'. 2 different sets of sticks. If I don't want anyone bringing down my hair, I'd wear the 'owner only' sticks.......as a romantic thing, I suppose it could be nice to have your lover remove the sticks, and the hair comes tumbling down, but for everyday, it's 'owner only'. |
