From: Whimsycallie Pegler Was I really that impolite? I was a bit short on commenting about the search feature, but I answered the question. I also didn't launch in to any personal attack. I thought I was a bit snappish, but certainly not too awful. OooooH you are awful but I like you... Dick Emery, English comedian, and his "camp" spiel.

From: Melodie Darwin Considering whos alt it is, I'm likely pre-muted anyhow. Well, I think I disagree on two counts. First, and despite the truth of what Brenda says, I am going to agree with Josh that one should give the benefit of the doubt. Second, whatever you may think of . . . the person to whom you are alluding . . . her opinions are never so tentatively or so crudely expressed as in this OP. I would expect them to be at the least built upon a more sustainable argument than that child avs are "creepy." Agree or disagree with . . . the person to whom you are alluding . . ., you'll have to admit that she is capable of much much better than this.

You two are clearly not talking about the same person!

There's, uh, probably a lot of things you didn't know about lindens. Another, another interesting, uh, lindenism, uh, there are only three jobs available to a linden. The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

Is it my imagination, or did the OP respond in (what I assume was) their main, and that post is no longer in the thread? Something about a dictionary definition of infantilism? I swear it was there a few minutes ago...

I reckon. "The person to hom you are alluding" very snap. "a more sustainable argument" I love it. Just teasing Scylla - are you still writing that thesis about Milton Keynes?

From: Scylla Rhiadra Heh. Actually, on the basis of past exchanges with Melodie, I'm pretty darn sure we are . . . If you haven't yet, you should head over to SC and witness the utter dismantling of her "evidence" and "logic." It's a wonder to behold (plus, there's lots of lulz).

And no, in terms of who you mean; her kid schtick is the same over and over. There is no "much better".

Surely by now the whole subject of child avatars must be over 18 in Internet years and therefore can be dropped? Surely?

From: Love Hastings I was actually being serious. If you really think she makes reasoned arguments, you certainly should have a look. I don't agree with much of what she says, nor certainly with her conclusions, but I do find her generally well-informed and interesting. Melodie has called me her "fan girl" on one occasion at least ( ), which is hardly accurate, but I do actually find what she has to say interesting. I learn a great deal from people with whom I disagree. As for the carnage . . . well, I was being serious too. I don't think my delicate sensibilities can handle another full-scale thermonuclear exchange today.

From: Nika Talaj Hey, does anybody know whether this question has ever been asked on Second Answers? At least two and they were locked too ^^ https://blogs.secondlife.com/thread/2725https://blogs.secondlife.com/message/16777edit: oops maybe those weren't from SL Answers. I can't figure that stupid thing out Took me forever to even find SL Answers and I'm not even sure if you can do a search on answered questions.

From: Special Kamala What do you think of the child avatars seen about in second life? I never fail to feel creeped out whenever I see one. Especially when they are part of some weird virtual family. Thank you for showing how close minded and lacking perception you are. It does help when limited minded people make themselves known so early in their life. I Brought The Liqueur

Is it still PG for this forum if we turn the thread into a drinking game?
