definatly a step backwards..it reminds me of msn forum style..
Oh wow 5 sections to choose from..so many choices..
omg one thread on one page..now that is ease..bleh..
it's more like downsizing than a move forward.if you ask me..
those are the new SL forums also .not the new xstreet forums..
they just have a section in there..

After posting daily on the FLOG's everyday with the adult changes I know so many had so many issues with it, hope that you find out why you are getting the issues, sorry I cannot be of more help :)
Thank you Lord and no worries, fortunately there are lots of alternate forums to stay informed ;-)

Change the view to "Flat" in your user preferences, I find it easier to follow that way, it's not all one one page then.

Thanks goodness, at long last we can save forum posts as PDF files!

I've been wanting to save a forum post or thread or some such as a PDF file for so long, it's great to see this wish finally come true.

I don't seem to be able to add people into the contact list for the private message system. I put in the name of someone who'd sent me a private message. Surely it ought to be able to find that name. I also tried my alt, and Pink Linden, and Argent Stonecutter, and Osprey Thereian and Osprey Therian, both spellings, cause I don't recall for sure what the spelling is. It didn't find any of those names. I also cut and pasted a name of someone that had posted in the forum, and it didn't find that name either.

Of course, finding your user preferences is a mystery meat hunt by itself.

The x-thing forum design (like all their pages of the new website) looks still like an invitation to a funeral sended by a dental clinic. Operating-room-green with two large black mourning borders.

Or in two words described: pain & death (completed with a good amount depression and fear in general - "doctor, doctor, please...";)

The functionality works like an austrian bureaucrat who is working for The Office for the Upkeeping of the Salt-Content in the Oceans (means: for nothing) and who is filled with a barrel of bawarian beer and who is a fan of Kafka, and who is being constantly in bad mood, but equipped with Thors hammer and Zeus thunderbolt & lightning.

Or in two words described: slow and misleading (completed with a good amount labyrinth)

The new rules are settled somewhere between Orwell and Kafka (completed with a good amount of duct tape and gag-tools plus thumbscrews in general)

Alert and quick-witted people are unable to feel being welcome there.

Free discussions and creative associations are impossible in such an environment, because one will have to write with a cutter in head and with the Sword of Damokles pending over the head.

This said in advance since this forum here will be merged with the x-thing forum design.

I am literally not amused.

On top of that LL is trying to have influence on private websites, their contents and links, etc. and this on pain of penalties...

Just wow.

Can it be possible, that they've forgotten from whom they live, who feeds them and who made this virtual world, pixel for pixel and prim for prim and who made them able to swim in money month for month and year for year?

To add contacts in the private message system you have to include a period between the first and last names, and it's case sensitive, and you have to type the whole name.

People with names like "O10010101010101010001010 Omelet" or whatever that person's name is will be a bit harder to add than is absolutely necessary. The system needs a "match substring" function.

Over 7000 posts from me in these fora over the past few years. Mostly what I do most honestly hope have been useful information and helpful advice for other residents.

I will NOT bother migrating to that blog-based mess they are pasing off as the new XStreet fora. And when these Fora inevitably get the same treatment, I'll go somewhere else entirely. Moving from here to those blog-based "discussion groups" is like asking a woodworker to give up her chisels and planes and fine-tuned woodworling hand tools and try to work with a plumber's toolkit for tools. That may be a fine pipe wrench in that kit, but it's a lousy replacement for a hammer, and doesn't work at all as a hand plane.

The forums are dead. Time to move on.

I say in this thread on the new XStreet "forums" *caf caf* that if they do the same to the SL Forums they will destroy the community here. It might be cool - it might even have some effect - for us all to say our goodbyes there as well. I'm sure that even Blue knows who Ceera is:

that is where we are spose to end up..
i keep wondering if they forgot these or if they are just gonna flip the switch on us..
they haven't said much about these forums lately since they started talking about the move with xstreet forums..
heck i thought they were gonna flip the switch here today..
i was like..if they don't give warning that would be so wrong on so many levels..

Most kind of you, Nika, but the sad fact is, they don't care how many of us they drive off. All that matters is appeasing the Executive or Board Member who decreed that the Blog software was to be used as a one-size-fits-none replacement for all communications channels.

LL never has been able to find the meaning of Customer Service, even if you place it in their hands wrapped with pretty paper and a gold bow. Nothing we say matters to them.

I predict sudden death with absolutely no warning, then a self-congratulatory blog post a couple of hours later telling us how the change was a direct result of feedback from residents who wanted a richer, more predictable forum experience.

Yeah, but Anti, if you post on that thread you get to react to this line:
From: Nika
I doubt anyone at LL wants to be known as part of the "Community Destruction" team, but hey, we can make you T-Shirts if you want to make it official.
If I could make T-shirts, I would do it, too!

Screw that, I am not setting prim foot in that pile of crap. I hope LL chokes on their New Website. I don't blame the Xstreet people for being upset. They are trying to run businesses and LL is cutting off a major avenue of dialog for them.

SecondCitizen was re-born about a month ago as SecondCitizen MKII.* There are already lots of great people there and plenty of room for more.* Whatever your reasons, we'll all be happy to see you there.* Just be sure to stop by Ellis Island first, say hello and receive your welcome pokin's, and the mods will be along shortly to open the doors for ya.* SC MKII like it's previous incarnation is for the most part unmoderated, but be sure to check out the rules anyway, there aren't that many :)

Hope to see you soon!

For the makers of a communication platform, they really do seem to have problems with communications an awful lot.

Been saying that for years. All of LL's problems seem to come from a lack of communication.

Communication between the servers.
Communication between asset server and everyone.
Communication between various groups of Lindens.
Communication between any Linden's ears.
Communication with residents.
Communication with the world.

If LL would fix their communication problems, in a way that doesn't involve plugging their ears and going, "Lalallallalallalallaaaacan'thearyoulallallalalalalallalal" Second Life would actually improve.
