Using Firstname space lastname?

Also doesn't work when I click on one of the topics that are shown on Xstreet where I'm also already logged in. Don't know what I'm doing wrong

I can't post this one inline, it's too big, but it's worth it: http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/ll369/NePaS101/facepalm.jpg You're right. That is worth it. Only there are no ferrets in there. hehe ![]() |

It looks like the actual new forum is here, and the commerce is a sub-forum there. https://blogs.secondlife.com/community/ It looks terrible to me. Not very intuitive or user-friendly at the least. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. ![]() _____________________

Why did they make a new XStreet forum? I thought they said they would be merging them with the official forums? Are they ever capable of making up their minds? This is LL. If it isn't broke, find a way to break it. ![]() |

That is not a forum by any definition of the word. It's a Gimped list of comments on a page. I'm no fan of the current format there, which is why I'm hoping these forums remain open for a while yet whilst they iron out the usability issues. I'm sure they can tweak things and use different themes to give them more of a forum look. Admittedly I was hoping they'd do this before they moved the Xstreet forums, but maybe they need to move them to see how they work with the basic format. |

I tried again with IE instead of firefox and it's working with IE, but I still have no idea why I can't do the same with firefox. Anyway, I don't like new format at all so I won't be using it a lot and just in case I have to I can still use IE should I not be able to find the cause

Shame is such a tame word, Taylor. Doesn't do it the injustice that it will become.

It's bad. The more I use it, the more I come up against it's limitations. It needs so much work just to rise to the minimum standards of a functional forum.

Ouchy, there are no forums directly related to scripting, texturing, building, machinima etc. No company really wants its customers talking to each other. So the comments about this being a screw-up are probably mistaken: if they've made it harder for us to talk to each other, that was probably their genuine intent, and not a screw-up at all (from their point of view). But if their intent included discouraging content creation--well, that really IS a different direction for LL. (As compared with discouraging community among Residents, which has been at least in the background all along--as it would be with any company [I'm not saying LL is worse than other companies in this regard.]) I hope it's not true that a philosophy of discouraging content creation is gaining prominence in LL. Maybe it is just a case of the scripting and texturing and other forums being last to be put up. _____________________

As for the new "forums"... I am very disappointed, but not at all surprised, by LL's decision to stay the original course of (mis)using the blog software. I had hopes after all the discussions with Blue that they would consider actual forum software for the job; but given LL's long track record of soliciting community inputs and then throwing it all into the shredder and doing whatever the hell they want anyway, I am not surprised Considering how badly the blog software cracked and crumbled under the strain of the Adult Content discussion (how ironic) a few months ago, I predict a full-fledged digital train wreck when the full cutover takes place. At the very least, there are default behaviors set in the new "forums", such as the "show the entire thread on one page" default, that are guaranteed to initiate total warp core breech the first time a REAL thread gets posted there. 25 thousand people all trying to access something like the Undying Thread on the new software will likely result in such a huge server overload that the resulting meltdown and subsequent nuclear chain reaction will likely remove half of the State of California off the map. _____________________

I'm not even going to bother looking. My bags are packed and I'm ready for them to shut the lights out on this place.

I don't think it's my computer because I've had the same things happen on 3 different computers (XP and Vista). I think I'm not going to use that blog a lot anyway, it's just too confusing and not intuitive at all, but I was still wondering why it doesn't let me log in ![]() |

I guess is a vote on about the new Xstreet forum since there are more posts about it here than on the new forum itself. (Same applies to the new answers forums, that needs to be reworked also).
