I'd have to bring up Jana Fleming as one of the most powerful women in the game. She is an African-American woman making it happen in the game. She owns 3 islands, 2 of which are business related. The third is her personal retreat. She has one of the best shopping sims in the game (JD Mills) and also a nice residential rental sim (White Sands). Besides all that she designs realllly nice men's and women's clothes (Jana's Classic Designs). She recently developed and implemented the hugely successful Shoe Wars @ JD Mills. She is active in the SL community and is a res mod on the forums - for that alone she deserves an award! Jana has "juice" - as they say in certain circles lol. I'm not sure she even realizes how powerful she is and how far reaching her decisions and actions can be.

THE most powerful woman in sl...

ANSHE. Others don't even touch her as far as influence/power. Unless they have a Linden alt on their team.

Anshe, Ferran Brodinsky, Surreal Farber, Torrid Midnight, Aimee Weber, Willow Zander, Ulrika Zugzrang, Trinity Serpentine, Munchflower, Nephilaine Protagonist, Toy Lafayette, Aces Spade and of course Tya Fallingbridge. That should get you started.

Simone Stern, Tateru Nino.
Plus there's another one, but she uses a male AV, so I'm not sure if I can post her name here without violating disclosure.

I have no idea whether these female avs are male or female in real life (because I don't care) but... Jade Lily... Relay for Life.. 'nuff said. Katt Kongo... Metaverse Messanger, Katrina Relief, Real Beauty... Ingrid Ingersoll... Builder, SL philanthropist Regardless of their real life genders, whatever they may be, these female AVs are doing some moving and shaking within SL.

From: Lewis Nerd Shall we think this through logically?
This request is sexist and should be removed immediately.
It violates CS 1 "Intolerance" as it marginalises and belittles a whole group (males) in SL, plus by singling out a specific group for special treatment as to their achievements, it implies that others achievements are not as valid.
It violates CS 4 "Disclosure" as you are asking for real life gender information which may not be necessarily revealed on the player's profile.
Given LL's liberal attitude towards most things in game, I am very surprised and somewhat upset that such a sexist attitude is being promoted by LL in an official capacity.
Top achieving players should be just that, regardless of the gender of the human player behind them. If players are not allowed to be discriminatory in game, then neither should Lindens.
Lewis WIll you get a life...

From: Patrick Playfair WIll you get a life... Patrick - I think you and the others who are jumping on Lewis are being unfair. He has a right to express his opinions, just as you and I do. You don't have to agree with his opinion. However, you and the others who commented on his post have no right to demean him personally. Jen

Lewis That's actually quite correct, by definition. Now lets see loads of people get on their high horses. Predictable? No, I wouldn't say that. Unless I was asked.

international hostess
04-28-2006 15:52
If we're talking about influential women, I nominate Willow Dion, international hostess with the mostest.
Willow probably has done more to welcome and keep newbies in SL -- and to help all residents make connections, the true purpose of our fair metaverse -- than many. With a friends list that exceeds 300 entries, she has been holding regular dance parties at Slate since August 2005.
The lovely Mlle. Dion, social butterfly par excellence, now holds six pool and dance parties a week, inviting all residents to dance and chat. She has specifically timed some of her parties to make them Euro friendly, thus fostering the best kind of international relations. Avies of all types congregate at her gatherings and soirees.
Many intimidated and overwhelmed newbies first meet Willow and attend parties after going to Bob Bunderfeld's supportive Q&A sessions, as I did. Willow and her co-host, Anton Neurocam, continue to answer questions, give away freebies and make everyone feel at home in this strange and wonderful place.
She definitely is worthy of consideration, IMHO.

From: Skippy Omlet I personally think it's immoral to lie to someone and pretend to be something you're not. Again, off topic-esque. Talking as an RPG'er, SL is a place where you can be what you want. It's not immoral to pretend to be something you're not, as long as you don't abuse that position. You can still be a honest, decent person if you gender swap. (Anyway, if you talk to a female in SL, the chances are they are female in RL.). Back on topic. But why should RL gender matter in deciding who is the most 'powerful' female is SL? As for who I think is the most 'powerful' female in SL, well the jury is still out on that one as there are a few to choose from.

From: Phoenix Psaltery There's nothing sexist about it. It's just focusing on a specific class of people.
Perhaps for you. I, for one, don't feel belittled or marginalized at all. Please do not presume to speak for me. What a load of crap. No one is forcing anyone to disclose this. It is all strictly voluntary. As usual, you are looking to stir up trouble. P2 Ok. I will vote for you for president, now, Phoenix. You just won me over. Oh and as for the original post: I'd say munchflower (so powerful she only needs one name) katt kongo briggi bard crystalshard foo june dion aimee weber jenna fairplay sue stonebender trinity serpentine stpaulsub clio robin sojourner (omg where to stop?) hm. so many awesome women in SL hard to quit there, but I force myself. I may be back to add more later.

powerful.....
04-28-2006 20:56
amazing how all of you just seem to look at land and money that make a woman powerful in game. God forbid brains would make a woman powerful, there shall be none of that now huh? none of these names i see mentioned i consider powerful. you don't need to own land to be in power and you can have all the linden in your account and still be nothing. my votes are for those who really have power, you know the ones that have a heart, brains not just a parcel or two with a wallet....Haddock Trenchmouth & Maelynd Vesperia, you guys rock

Robin Sojourner
04-28-2006 21:48
I would like to nominate Robin Sojourner, who imparts knowledge that can change the face of SL and the existance for any that take the lessons.
In RL Robin is a world renowned fantasty artist (Robin Wood) and has spent a great deal of time setting up tutorials that LL found so helpful they asked to use them in the then newly created teen grid.
Knowledge is power and Robin has it in spades.
