From: Nolan Nash Don't forget about the part where the group wants to review the LL employee behavior policy.
Prokofy Neva: "We're concerned about conduct in world while in uniform and out"
So, you want the policy to do what with it? To critique it and then try to amend it as you see fit? Do the rest of us get any say in this? Fair point. You have to understand how quickly this all happened, there are no ill intentions, its just happened THAT quick.

From: Hiro Queso its just happened THAT quick. I don't like the way you keep refering to it as just *magically happening all at once*. If I wanted a group like this to speak on my part, I would at least want them to take a bit more time to think *everything* though .

Why shouldn't that happen? I'm glad it happened...I'm very interesed in the attitude of the "Major stakeholders" attitude toward a lowly little consumer like me.

From: musicteacher Rampal Why shouldn't that happen? I'm glad it happened...I'm very interesed in the attitude of the "Major stakeholders" attitude toward a lowly little consumer like me. It was a sarcastic statement... and rhetorical the reason they didn't want them there was for that very reason - so you and I and a bunch of other people didn't know what was going on. So you wouldn't know that thats what is thought of you and I, as lesser citizens (and by the spokespersons own words) not worthy of equal representation on matters of policy in Second Life. Now the damage control can state up and down whatever they like, but that's what was said.. and thats what they think. Only thing is, they didn't want you or I to know that. Siggy.

That's not true

"I have a background in media, and am a hearty advocate of freedom of the press, but there was a reason I didn't want the media there and you are looking at it. It was a 4/3 vote to ask the media to leave, but we didn't do it because we HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE. " I'm sure that you have good reasons for not wanting media at the meeting, but the statement "It was a 4/3 vote to ask the media to leave, but we didn't do it...." is completely false. I was told to leave. But it should be noted that out of 25-30 people present at this meeting, ONLY seven people were included in this vote. This vote was not representative of the whole group. However, I had every right to be there, and so I stayed.

From: Siggy Romulus Certainly zygot, just as soon as you quote... key word is QUOTE here, boy, where I attributed that to you... child... are we done yet... infant? I'd like to see your QUOTE there 'glint in the milkmans eye'.. My comment is toward Prokofy himself and her innane ramblings of the shadowy 'FIC' which she is now trying to start... So why not go lick that crappy wall clean fool? Siggy. PS. your such an eloquent spokesperson for this group.. please continue to post, frequently and often Yes. And please don't read any articles on how to debate effectively or how to be concise and not repeat the same stuff over and over in different words. And please don't read anything on how argumentation is more effective without emotion. Funniest stuff I've read in awhile. I was going to go through and take it apart paragraph by paragraph...but eh, those smart enough to see knows it speaks for itself. HOWEVER, I will make the following points. I don't attend townhall meetings for a simple fact. I WORK DURING THAT TIME. I wish that I had your obvious stay at home and play the internet for the entire day capability but I don't. So, tell me, as it was not listed in the events calendar, how was I to find it, if I too wanted to attend? I resent being called LAZY because I WORK a real life job. Secondly, I'm not a one time only 9.95 user, but if I was, how does that make me any less important in the overall scheme of Second Life than anyone else? If you could answer these two questions rationally and without name calling, I would greatly appreciate it. Otherwise, continue on with your long rambling posts. You may hate Prok, but I'll say, he used to post just as long posts, but they were actually a lot easier to read and understand. If you feel like improving your skills, you might want to go reread some of his posts. Have an awesome day

From: Hiro Queso OK maybe its not used in your part of the world like that. I still fail to see how that led to your conclusion. I am not trying to pick you to bits, to besmirch your character, or to force you to defend yourself. There is a privilege associated with the word 'audience' (as opposed to, say, "meeting," "gathering," or "discussion" . One has an 'audience' with a person of great power. In relation to the person of power, one recieves the 'privilege' of attention. I say 'self-importance' becuase this word choice indicates the belief that some special attention was bestowed.

From: Enabran Templar That's a lot of text, thanks for highlighting the interesting stuff. What part is hypocrisy, though? I'm not sure what the contradiction is that I'm supposed to be looking for. Totally. What a waste of a half hour to read it. A lot of the folks in this "evil group" are wonderful people, and the Lindens said nothing to them they would not say to any group that wants to organise in that fashion. I can't even see why the red bits are supposed to mean anything?? In most cases, just below each highlighted area there is some comment from Philip that completely reverses (what appears to be) the implication the author is trying to give by the red highlighting in the first place. Note that by their own rules and aspirations (from the notecard), they agree that the Lindens should not help them out in any way that they would not help out any other group in Second Life. I mean it's right there in their own document. Probly bad taste with the storm this week, but this is another tempest in a teapot to me.

I 'm the one that didn't attend the town hall meeting, and arguing your point!... I work at that time too, and I'm objecting to being called a lazy shite because I work rather than attend a friggin town hall meeting! I think Mulch is the person your referring to.... I'm a second rate citizen like you, handing him back his own language. --- editing --- I'm sure that you just misquoted that... seems we're on the same page on this (reading your later posts) So eh... if thats the case, no harm no foul. Do you not own a ton of land? Are you a casual player? Is SL a game for you? Then you very well could be a tourist in Second Life!
And if you are, you're probably wondering what the hell you should be wearing. Well here's a little example of some of the many clothing options available to you:

wow, kept me up 2 hours past my bed time reading this thread. Pretty interesting, but I'm so tired...
...that I'm passing out.. I think it's time we just make deities out of all the self-appointed powerful people. Then comes forced worship, and sacrifices (Cat Cot early posted about being an SL Virgin (or not being one, I dunno I'm confused, anyway, let's offer her up (and maybe Siggy jsut cuz he's funny and funny guys don't get laid (I know, I'm funny, irl anyway, and not getting laid, irl or in SL))). maybe I need more parenthesis, my brain's too fuzzy to count um.
I dunno what to think, but it sure smells fishy. I do know this, I'm going to bed!

From: Siggy Romulus I like the fact that they said they were the ones wanting to keep media types out I advise everyone to go back now and read post #1. Draw your own conclusions.. looks to me like editorial said there was a meeting.. (true) That certain types were not welcome, nor was the press..(true) Makes an observation on the group as a whole (opinion) Where the meeting was held (true) A chat log (true) and finally the groups charter. (true) hmm seems he posted mainly fact and one option... In a strange twist of fate - Mulch would like on one hand to see Editorial banned for pubishing something while asking the lindens for transparency Good luck getting Editorial banned.. especially in light of: Aint that a kick in the pants? Also, he attacks Editorial's credibility for offering opinions. Um, the very definition he posted mentions opinions within it for editorial.

From: Katt Kongo I attended that meeting and the one with the Lindens. Prok did ask if a press release should be sent to news publications, but the response from the majority of people was "No, let's wait. People will just assume that we are another FIC." At the meeting with the Lindens, I, as a member of the press, was asked to leave by a small group of people (seven to be exact). However, when I asked Prok if I should leave, he (who organized this meeting to begin with) said I should stay.
We voted, agreed we didn't like like the press there at that time, but I don't know who asked you to leave directly, wasn't me. I assumed we let it go. And you stated Prok told you to stay. Sorry if I misunderstood.

The upshot of this is now (much after the fact) its revealed that Prok set up the meeting, it will later be argued that this is the reason for such reaction.... rather than the whole thing sucking dognuts.
Siggy.

From: Katja Marlowe From: Pham Neutra [...]Of course, its too late now I have accepted an invitation and now I guess I have outed myself as a member of that cabal. Invitations? That statement right there just destroyed any defense of what the group's aim is that you were providing. Of course, Katja, the aim is to form a top secret cabal to overtake SL! I am not really sure how you deducted that from the word "invitation" but - I mean, everyone knows this, dont they? BTW: Please excuse my rather late answer to your post. I had to leave the forums for a while to get a little work done in RL and when I came back ... OMG! I guess you just have to accept it when you are outnumbered. LOL
