Funny thing -- before I ever got to know you, I somehow got plunked in the area and was feeling outraged for some irrational reason. Maybe it was because I had been pushgunned earlier that day and I wasn't exactly in the mood for humor of a scatalogical nature. I stayed there for six minutes, wondering the heck was going on, and looking at a Players outlet I think... and then I was cross that I didn't get a t-shirt. In hindsight, it's so funny.

There has been quite a lot of bad-mouthing of W-hat in this thread, and we have answered it - as well we should, regardless of how strongly it ties into the original subject of this thread.

What brush would that be, exactly? Please explain. As I see it, we are answering claims made by uninformed people who like to post unflattering opinions about our group (which they do not understand) in rather antagonizing language.

So if some people (but not all of them) slander my group, I'm being "sensitive" by answering? Should I only say something if all of them are slandering my group? That doesn't make sense to me.

We didn't even know it ourselves until it was pointed out. You seem to be implying that it was all some kind of elaborate, premeditated hoax. If you've got proof of that, I'd like to see it. So would the W-hat officers, I think.

I'm really surprised that in 9 pages, no one mentioned what the SA goons did back in the spring: prim-spammed all of Darkwood and Lusk full of 10x10x10 cubes of some of the most vile images available on the web, and intentionally sought out furries and "furry-lovers" (a term loosely applied) and harassed them.

This was a coordinated effort, as shown by postings in the SA forums. Many brand new accounts were made, and many many many people were banned. I personally remember chatting with Char Linden, who had the unpleasant task of removing said disgusting cubes.

Let's not forget that the site is "Something Awful". It's not "Something Nice" or "Something That's Respectful of Other People". Whatever W-Hat intends to be, they need to completely seperate themselves from such pre-pubescent nonsense before they can claim to be a remotely dignified organization. This incident is just another in a history of incidents.

Also, the most absolutely ridiculous and childish excuse that was stated in this thread was "we didn't plan to do it". Oh, that makes it sooo much better. Grow up. Grow the f*** up.

No one is going to deny that some first-class assholes came in with the first wave. However, these people have all either been banned or left out of boredom. More of them show up from time to time, and the same thing happens - they leave, or they get banned. That is hardly a phenomenon that is unique to SA forum members.

Does that make them good people or reputable? No. It just means that they have redeeming qualities. Considering SA's past in SL, you have no foundation on which to claim victim-hood. Grow up.

Edit: To clarify - I was using Saddam and Usama as extreme examples to prove a point, not to make that association. Like, if THEY can do nice things, so can anyone.

Young children use the "we didn't mean for it to happen" excuse. Then people grow up and take responsibility for their actions. In this case, I'll be clear - it seems that an individual is at fault, and not W-Hat as a whole.

But my point is not that W-Hat is bad, but that SA is not a good association for W-Hat to have. It's a simple thought - SA has a hugely bad reputation in SL. W-Hat should remove itself from associating itself from it and it won't have a bad reputation. There's nothing illogical in my statement.
