We are to believe that the Linden did not take any action? Well, what happened? From: Darkwing Duck And we get banned for standing around as mimes? Actually I do not know exactly what your group was actually doing or banned for and find your explanation rather lacking.

Darkwing - STANDING AROUND does not mean SURROUNDING ANOTHER AVATAR AND KEEPING THEM FROM MOVING. Learn the difference.
A flourescent obvious penis in an appropriate area - that may have even ghosted - is typically hilarious.
Griefing another resident as a group of mimes is typically not.
And yes, Ryen Jade is a good friend of mine.

I'm sorry, couldn't the furry just push us out of the way if he really had to go anywhere?
I don't know.

From: Mud Daligdig I'm sorry, couldn't the furry just push us out of the way if he really had to go anywhere? Uh. IMHO, no one should HAVE to push anyone else out of the way to go anywhere. So, your question is an attempt to shift the onus of blame from the group to the "victim"/non-group avatar. Kinda weak if you ask me.

Oh yes, pushing people out of the way is such an elegant solution. PLEASE. SL is not a mosh pit.
Or show me where I missed the fact in SL that to enjoy myself I will have to constantly fight for elbow room? When I choose to enter an RL mosh pit, I know what's coming.
You guys need some lessons on getting a life, and appreciating the amount of zeros and ones put together that bring SOME of us so much joy.
Ryen understands this. Ask him for some lessons. He's a great guy who understands fun, and y'all could really learn something from your "ringleader." Chaos is appreciated in SL... GRIEF is not.

-Flip Thanks for the compliment flip Actually, I took part in this, all we did was stand around them. We were never asked to move, the avatar had plenty of room to move (unlike in habbo hotel, where there is only 2 dimensions, SL has three.), ect ect. This was in no way griefing, nothing racial or demeaning was said, no TOS sections were violated, nor were any community standereds. Infact the person who organized this even said anyone who violated the TOS or CS in anyway would be kicked from W-hat and banned from the land. Since flip wants me to give examples on how to have fun in SL 1.DONOT single out a single player or single type of player unless asked or you are friends with said group/person. 2.TYPE IN CAPS AND WITHOUT COMMAS ITS FUNNIER! (Only good for sarcastic remarks) 3.DONOT violate any part of the TOS or CS, this includes (but is not limited to)- Pushing, Racial Slurs, and Slander. 4. I know when people get pissed off, it just makes the situation funnier. Unless they are the only ones being upset by your actions, leave immidietly. Since, despite its absolute hilarity, nothing good will come out of it. I should write a book!

Its obvious you're never read ToS or CS, then. Not to mention, even if you didn't, your intent, in the case, is clear.

From: Anne Vindaloo I took part in this In general you are still evading a full accounting of your actions. What was the purpose of the group standing around the av(s)? Did the surrounded av(s) consent to this? Were they part of this by their choice? Hey, be a Stand Up guy and tell us the complete truth, not white washed in an effort to make you look good. Do you still stand by your initial post in another thread: "Why? I have no flipping clue!" Because obviously you did.

Sure, here you go: http://secondlife.com/tos.phpEnjoy! And remember, the legal system in the US - and SL - is not black and white. Its a spectrum. In Flip language, the basics are: Don't be a stupid schmuck without a clue. Be nice to one another without having to be nailed to a tree. -Flip

Even though you say that you were trying not to violate the TOS, you in fact did.. Section 5.1(x) would deal with surrounding someone like that, especially since you admit it was even organized, not just a spontaneous coincidence.
Of course, I'm just refering to the TOS based on the information gathered here.. I don't know what actually happened.

Hey, be a Stand Up guy and tell us the complete truth, not white washed in an effort to make you look good.
Do you still stand by your initial post in another thread: "Why? I have no flipping clue!" Because obviously you did. Ok, first let me answer your last question. I dont have any idea why I was banned, since I saw no TOS or CS violation occur. Let me inform you to the full procedeings of the day. First off, I logged in and was greeted with a message from the w-hat group. A player said "are we ready?" so I asked what was going on. I am teleported to the isabell telehub and am briefed. I was told that everyone was dressing up as mimes and were going to have a fake protest in "The Shelter". Why? I dont know. I, thinking this could be alot of fun, promptly join up. We are told NOT to say anything (as mimes do) and NOT to violate any part of the TOS or CS. We are told that if someone who doesnt like our protest starts shooting to not return fire and report them. So we move, at first we arent noticed, then (by my word) we take the stage and line up. Then we all start clog dancing while "WTF?!" emenates throughout the crowd. Then someone walks up to that particular player and says "Lets surround this guy". Why? I am guessing because they were a "furry", and some goons still hold a grudge agianst furries. Why? Because they are fucking idiots. I think "What the hell, no harm will come out of this" and walk to join the rest. We surround this person and their only response is along the lines of "ooookkkkk". Then someone catches onto our antics and puts on an old granny avatar with a walker. She knocks herself down and says we pushed her over! Apparently, someone took this seriously and reported us, saying the signs pushed her over! Upon learning this I promptly fell off my chair laughing, but that quickly turned to disgust when I learned that was one of the reasons for my suspension! Now, we surrounded this "furry" and proceded to clog dance, not violating the TOS as far as I knew. The crowd tries to ask us questions, not noticing we are mimes. So, with a combination of being there and not answering questions, we were all ejected. In the heat of the moment, I neg rated the land owner. I have already apologized for this and stated I will undo that (turn it into a pos rating) once my suspension is up. However, there was -no- mass negging chat in the w-hat group chat. So any mass negging was done on an individual basis. This was THE entire story, I held back nothing.

(x) "stalk" or otherwise harass another user. You agree that Linden may take whatever steps it deems necessary to abridge, or prevent behavior of any sort on the Service in its sole discretion, without notice to you. Surrounding someone, in my opinion, does not constitute for harrassment, especially when they dont say anything, such as ask us to stop.

Yes, when it's just a mysterious "event" that people make hints at, so many bad assumptions can be made. As for making threads go smoother.. that's not what the forums are about without drahma, these forums wouldn't be here

My mind just boggles that anyone could openly state that they find upsetting others to be funny. Now I know what makes school bullies' minds tick.

Now I know what makes school bullies' minds tick. You are one of the reasons for rule #4 Now, if you actually read the entire thing, rule 4 was for people who did not understand the humor and take it literally. Not intentionally griefing someone. Example: You say "OH GOD IF YOU TYPE YOUR KEYBOARD WILL BLOW UP!" someone says "Really?!" as in the literal sense. Then they find out you have lied about that and they get upset. This is HILARIOUS. But by further instigating the situation, you will only procede to piss this person off more.
