From: Catherine Cotton What I hear you saying is your willing to sell to "joe" a chunk of land say 512m2 in a new region and take the 512m2 off his hands at a price you feel is reaonable. The land tier difference per month for a plot of land 512m2 and 2 plots of land both 512m2 is $3.00 US. I seriouly doubt your "service" nets you less than $3 on most transactions. I can't speak for J or S since I've never offered this service myself, though I would if someone asked for it and I had the L$s to spare. But US$3 is about L$800 right now. That seems extortionate for a service like this. I'd offer it for L$0 myself - if it helps someone buy land they want that I am selling. If the land they were selling was something I was interested in, I'd offer it free of charge even if the land they were buying was not mine! Besides, when people are at a half sim tier or more, they're unlikely to be within 512m2 of their limit, and so this service would cost them nothing at all to provide. US$3/L$800?! Why, I feel guilty if someone buys one of my houses for their new land for half that price!

From: Jauani Wu catherine, are you participating in the same discussion as i am? it has been stated many times that the credit card is billed immediately and L$ are removed from the account immediately. you even posted about the immediacy when you mentioned your experience with the purchase of land in Ross. the only thing that you are given time to do is pick up your land.
after 7 days, if you have not picked up the land, LL takes it back and give you an 80% refund, or so they say. no one who has done this has posted about it to confirm this as far as i know. so you are still out 20%, which LL seems to be happy with.
in the service of a well regulated and difficult to manipulate market, i'd favour a 100 % penalty, but LL is better aware of what situations it's dealing with than we are.
i really don't understand how you end up back on page 1 with your rhetoric after every 20 posts of progress.
edit: removing capitals, of course Are you charged immediatly for the land tier change NO. That is what I am talking about. It has been well documented in this thread that land brokers ARE NOT picking up their land won in auctions once that 7 days is up. Thus not being charged for the tier change. What part of that is difficult to comprehend? PS: AGAIN you little insult did not go un noticed I will let the Lindens deal with your continued insults.

Catherine, Just FYI, that policy has been changed by LL - they are actively enforcing the 7 day pickup rule - it is no longer a loophole that is being exploited to avoiding tiering up. While you still have 7 days, unless you time things really creatively, you are still going to get hit with the rier eventually.

From: Jauani Wu Someone mentioned LL has a set amount of land they roll out in relation to population growth. Perhaps Haney or some other LL employee can fill us in on the details? From the Town Hall with Phillip Linden on October 1, 2004: From: someone Haney Linden: Gina Dawn: Question for Philip: What is yur prognosis on land resale prices. Are we still seeing a large influx of players from others games; how many more sims are going to be added to SL? These are factors that seriously impact market Philip Linden: We will add land at a rate precisely matched to the number of new users per month. Philip Linden: We think this will accurately stabilize pricing... Philip Linden: inotherwards, if on average everyone has 1 acre of land, Philip Linden: and we get 10 new users, Philip Linden: we will add 10 acres of new land to the auctions. Philip Linden: In august we were admittedly behind and added more to catch up. Philip Linden: Unsuprisingly this made prices go up (starting in june), Philip Linden: and then come back down again. Philip Linden: They are currently stable at higher prices than in april, BTW. Philip Linden: I'd say that in general land prices should trend slowly upward, Philip Linden: and the economic growth of SL proceeds - Philip Linden: inotherwards as people can create cooler and more valuable stuff, Philip Linden: land prices will track up to match the higher income potential. Philip Linden: At least that is a speculation.

I will keep an eye on a small parcel i know about to see if that is realy the case. I ask that others do the same and repost here too. Thanks; Cath

Anshe Chung
I want to thank you for claiming your land in ross today. However I think its pretty damn immature for you to ban me from you land which is directly connected to mine.
I understand your business tactics and they suck.
Dreamland group is Anshe Chung land broker and this is BS.
*corrected to reflect the correct land broker

Oh, here's a technical question! If you are banned from a piece of land that is then set for sale, are you still able to buy it?

I am closing this thread, as it is apparent to me it has come to the end of its (arguably) useful life.
