Tried that already, he chose to neglect it. Which isn't a surprise for an uberpatriotic internet loudmouth.

Oh I failed to realize Alby was just an INTERNET TOUGH GUY and not a man of conviction.

The hate America first crowd is alive and well in SL. Unfortunately most members are Americans.

Since when does showing respect for those who died at the hands of a terrorist equate with patriotism.

As one who lost a loved one at the Pentagon, this sickens me.

You're joking right? More than 300,000 innocent Japanese died because America decided it was a good plan to drop an atomic bomb on their heads. And you're posting this image because some 5,000 Americans died and someone is making fun of that. Do you think Americans are better people than Japanese?

All I can say is, if you wanna use your freedom of speech to make people think you are an asshole, you go right ahead. Mission accomplished.

As much as I think the display is just another shout for attention, and in somewhat poor taste, there is absolutely nothing about Hating America involved that I can see, and if you think freedom of speech and freedom of expression are anti-american, well..let's just say it isn't and are our most important freedoms.
And yes that goes for you as well Alby. Us hippy liberals tend to practce what this country was formed as, a democracy with the freedom of speech, religion, expression, etc. As can be demonstrated in numerous ways, the Bush administration would like to put an end to all those freedoms. So are you an true american, or are we liberals the real americans, since we seem to be the only ones defending the freedoms and checks and balances our government was founded upon.

Let's ban representation of the WTC towers in SL, well then again we might have to comb the Linden land to find anything else that refers to the event in a non-patriotic way. For example my own gallery that features a little model of the towers -- well that's gotta go because the American flag is missing from the display -- and not to forget the absence of a obligatory corny statement like "we will never forget -- mostly uttered by people who were not even there to experience it";(I was there.) I am willing to sacrifice my model to this noble cause. We should assemble a group of volunteers ASAP and find occurences of such tasteless and disagreable art in SL and report them to Lindens. We should lobby pressure and force Linden labs to ban such material by using our community power, the power that comes from the masses.

Also, I am pro-segregation. I think we should separate out countries of origin, ethnicity, and race in SL. I think white people should have their own zone, the Nazis should get their own, and Jewish people should be offered a promised sim, the white people can live in endless subdivisions, and well African Americans can get the downtowns.

Middle easterners should be banned from SL or should only be given an SL pass after extensive background check and a body cavity search. We should finger print these people and check on their SL activity closely.

We should also not allow any display anti-American, Anti-Bush, Anti-repiblican, Anti-Christian material in SL. In fact I suggest we filter out the chat streams to remove any language we find objectionable. We should not stop there however, we should systematicaly and consistently remove any and all words that when put together create thoughts and language that might not agree with our common belief. Any person that perpatrates such language or thoughts should be tracked down, isolated, questions and then ejected from SL.

What SL needs is more American flags, more "Jesus is waiting for you, FIND HIM!" stickers, more American Eagles, and Big Brother is watching you banners. We need to drill into people's heads that the freedoms America offers to its subjects at home and abroad also carry over to SL. In this sense America is a source of freedom that never stops giving in any place, time or medium.

anyone posting more than three sentences in this thread has an adgenda and therefore all the argument is pointless.

How about we ban Second Life, kay?

Wonderful satire and always will be in my opinion. In a world where 100,000 people die by the ocean creates less of an uprise then 5000 people dying in a building, I can find, without shame, humor in all of this.

The Lindens wouldn't want to have to enforce this no-2-towers policy. It would have to be resident run by a themed community.

That being said, I just finished up my freedom fries...

Not I'm off to freedom kiss my girlfriend...

Before I whip out the freedom tickler...

Gawd, I haven't heard this annoying clamoring of sabres in almost a few weeks.

That would be the same world, where the most powerful nation in the world in an unprovoked action invades a helpless sovereign nation and slaughters over 100,000 innocent women and children.

Nah... lets rain bombs upon them. Hay Alby, why are you posting here and not fighting for America, go on down and sign up.

Just curious Alby - your blindingly patriotic, supportive of the current administration, pro-Iraq war, etc. etc.

Why are you not over in Iraq fighting for what you believe in?

Idiot. The tusnami has brought people together in much the same way that 9/11 did, so that argument doesn't hold water. (Pun definately NOT intended.) On the other hand, if there is more of an outrage over 9/11 it is because those deaths were the result of deliberate actions rather than by an event that could not have been prevented. Lessened perhaps if folks had been more on the ball, but in no way prevented.

I was thinking of posting this myself. I'm not surprised to be beaten to it, but by Alby?? Oh my god, I don't think I need this much irony in my diet!

Alby, you had me going until now. Hahaha, what an awesome gimmick you are!

Then who would be left to defend America from the liberal brainwashing machine if all the Patriots are in Iraq? Some of us must remain to fight on the homefront.

It also didn't result in the affected countries going batshit fucking insane for the next three and a half years and counting.
