Oh and for everyone talking about how the government pays for the medical care. Look at the population of Canada. Now look at the population of the US. Could you imagine our taxes if we had to pay for 300 million citizen's medical needs?![/QUOTE]
Well maybe a few dozen less B-2 bombers , Star wars missle systems and other millitary over the top equipment the USA could afford medical care.
Oh, by the way, Softwood lumber and Beef Trade disputes are not winning any friends in Canada , this may explain some of the hostility you received.

From: Pleze Playfair Come on now! LOL The fact that we took over a country that far away and over seas on top of everything doesn't mean we couldn't mount an enormous attack on Canada. The problem with foreign wars is the amount of resources it takes to bring the army to the location and to maintain it.
Here we could just drive our military right up the highways. With a border that large you'd have no change of defending it Why would you attack Canada in the first place? Truth is you wouldn't, yet you maintain an arrogance towards the option. That is my position on Point 2

From: Weedy Herbst In a nutshell, Canada is not preoccupied by the politics of fear. We are not befuddled by terrorist this or terrorist that. We enjoy a peaceful coexistance in the global community and that won't change anytime soon. As a citizen of the U.S. I want to let you know that I empathize with your frustration and feel that there is much truth in what you have posted. Enjoy that wonderful country of yours. (Montréal rules!) ~Ulrika~

From: Pleze Playfair Going around the Earth isn't always the most efficient route. In fact it is just as efficient to go over the North pole and come back down.
The way you are using the map no country would go over the Canada. Russia has missles that travel over the North pole to hit targets in the US. wait a second! i thought the danger was north korea!

From: Jauani Wu wait a second! i thought the danger was north korea! Interesting. I didnt see anywhere, that Korea intends to use WMD's and is an threat to anyone. Sure they have them. So do we, as does UK, France, China, Germany, Pakistan, India to name a few, yet I dont hear Bush's cronies ranting about that. Korea is armed to defend itself from China is my guess. If someone has tangible proof of Korea's threat of offensive attacks, I'd like to see it.

Canada=really really hot strippers. Gotta agree wif ya there, though there are many fine ones where I live as well (40+ strip clubs in a 1134 square mile area...woohoo!). My additions: Canada = Best beer on the planet (My preference, sorry Germany) Canada = Cleanest Big City (Toronto) Canada = Cool milk in bags Canada = Du Mauriers (They put my beloved Camels to shame) Canada = Cool "supa-wide, drunk-friendly" roads (at least in Whitby & Minden) Canada = Cool people in Ontario who dislike Quebec as much as I do Canada = Real Coffee Shops...no wussy double-cinnamon-mocha-soy-caps Canada = RUSH Canada = Mediocre Buds, but pretty good Hash Last, but definately not least: Canada = http://www.mcrorie.net/ - The mullet-wearing, one man band from the future!!! . .

From: Chip Midnight You shouldn't be surprised Paolo. We're reaping what our jingoistic redneck xenophobic countrymen have sown. You can't blame anyone for wanting to knock us down off our annoying high horse. The rest of the world is sick to death of the "USA #1" crap, and so am I... and I live here! If it wasn't so damn cold up there I'd move. "jingoistic redneck xenophobic countrymen" Are you talking about me? lol -- I'd responded further, but Jeskin is drooling to push that cancel button on my butt.. lol

From: Chip Midnight A bit OT, but I just read some interesting excerpts from the supreme court hearing on ten commandments displays a few minutes ago.
Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott: "I seriously question whether or not a crucifix would be constitutionally acceptable in that same location, and for the very same reasons which I'm articulating why the Ten Commandments would be acceptable in this location. The crucifix is not like the Ten Commandments in that it's not an historically recognized symbol of law. It doesn't send a secular message to all the people, regardless of whether they are believers or not believers of the important role the Ten Commandments have played in the development of law."
Scalia: "It's not a secular message. I mean, if you're watering it down to say that the only reason it's OK is it sends nothing but a secular message, I can't agree with you. I think the message it sends is that our institutions come from God. And if you don't think it conveys that message, I just think you're kidding yourself." (hehe, at least he's honest)
Welcome to Jesusland.
As per your comment about Satanism displays, if they're going to allow the promotion of one religion then it should be open season... and yes, after that we should ALL be bashed for allowing this kind of idiocy. Those of us opposed to such things are clearly not doing enough to put a stop to this slide towards theocracy. Free at last, free at last, thank GOD ALMIGHTY, we are free at last...

In Nautical terms, the track of a intercontinental balistic missile is called a "Great Circle". Its the shortest distance between two points on a globe. The poles mean nothing, they just happen to be the half way point between A and Z.

I hear Mexico is nice this time of year.... Also, careful with your "racist" name calling: The PC police are now whining about the term Redneck ( http://www.michnews.com/artman/publish/article_7006.shtml)....

The poles mean nothing, they just happen to be the half way point between A and Z. Alby is right here. When taking a ship from San Francisco to the Middle East you go all the way up by the Aleutian chain off of the Alaskan coast and then swing down just off the coast of Japan, then by the Philippines and through the Straights by Singapore then up to the Persian Gulf. Ships do this because the distance is shorter. A missile fired from any of the countries off of the Asian coast would travel the shortest distance around the world to get there which takes a northern course first then looping down over Canadian land to get to the major western US cities. Sorry but y'all are dead wrong on that point Pleze & Ju.

From: Xtopherxaos Ixtab Hmm...I think the U.S. is Numero Uno You're not alone. Most of us were raised with that kind of propaganda drilled into our heads, and most people buy into it. It's called jingoism, and it's one of the reasons the rest of the world finds us so annoying. I just happened to be born here. If I was just arriving from another planet this isn't where I'd choose to land. I'd prefer somewhere where the people are a bit more educated, a bit less arrogant, and a lot more laid back... someplace like, hmmm... Canada maybe. Carry on with your flag waving though. I'm just a citizen of earth. I feel no particular desire to root for just one team.
