The 'sanctity of bound paper' represents the human knowledge contained within. It is no coincidence that the most brutal and repressive regimes often begin by literally or symbolically destroying books.

Yeah, we all know what's coming next for that neutralburg dive place of hers... Swastika anyone?

I am patiently waiting for Zugzwag's baby to grow up and become a rabid Republican :)

Alexa

hehe... I was rasied by radical anarchists (though they are now really really left leaning socialist libertarians - how that works I don't know). My mom fainted when I voted for Bush. :D

What I mean, Gabe, is we don't get to go around burning them and destroying them to express the fact that we don't share in the same belief.

hmmm.. I'm pretty sure we can. Not saying we *should*, just saying that it is something we can do (as long as no humans are physically harmed in the process). At least thankfully that is possible in the US, not sure about all other countries.

You are pretty ignorant about Neualtenburg, so I would save your comments about it as they will be refuted for the untruths they will most likely be. :)

You are now officially on S-list. Congratulations, there is only one name on it.

Looks like someone doesn't mind running to momma when she feels a bit stressed out herself:

I've deleted and locked a thread started by flyingroc Chung.
These threads were deleted and locked to prevent general trolling and spill over from controversies in the external forums from spreading here.

And I would also like Ulrika to be on my legal team as well.

Lione, If you are outraged by the pictures, don't blame me for posting them, blame yourself for allowing it to happen.QUOTE]

If by saying "Blame yourself for allowing it to happen" , you mean its his fault for supporting and/or electing Mr Bush then thats absurd.

I'm from the UK,seems most people don't realise there is a world outside the USA. What about all the other countries in support of the war? It wasn't only Bush who wanted this war,you need to realise other nations did aswell.

Insulting Ulrika doesn't get you a place on the S-list. Sorry.
Intimating that Neualtenburg citizens are Nazis DOES.

She didn't have to run to mommy to edit, delete, or lock a thread in our Group forum as she is a moderator for our forum. She is also in the SC branch of our Government and it is part of the job of the SC to moderate our group forums. You may also want to read some other threads in that forum where you may learn some information about *why* the threads were moderated.

She complains about locked threads... and then locks them in her own forum. Hello.

I don't have a problem with locking threads, whether they're my own or others. I have a problem with locking threads that shouldn't be locked.

For instance, I didn't complain one bit when my "Destroy a Bible" thread was locked, other than someone went to the Hotline (ran to momma) to bring it to the attention of the Lindens.

ah. so when it's a thread that you think should be locked.. it's ok. but when other people do it, it's not.

Correct.

That's why in our forum there are threads discussing the procedure for impeachment, reforms to the moderation guidelines, punishments for N'burg forum trolling, and a civil discussion of two members' opinions, yet all the threads and posts with personal attacks, threats, and calls to violence have been locked or deleted.

It's not what one says, it's how they say it. Do you understand?

No, I don't understand... only because you're not making sense. I've never understood "do as I say and not as I do". Always been a little pet peeve of mine.

I applaud your courage. Not many people can admit to being dense in a public forum.

Just following by example. You two don't have a problem with outing yourselves as the militant, intolerant little jerks you both are in a public forum. Hooray! :D

Once again you've negated an argument I didn't make (straw-man argument). :D

Let me state what I said again:

That's why in our forum there are threads discussing the procedure for impeachment, reforms to the moderation guidelines, punishments for N'burg forum trolling, and a civil discussion of two members' opinions, yet all the threads and posts with personal attacks, threats, and calls to violence have been locked or deleted.

There is no censorship in the N'burg forum, one can say whatever they want as long as there are no personal attacks, calls to violence, or threats. In the threads that were locked or deleted our forum, they all contained personal attacks, calls to violence (seriously), and threats (seriously). Naturally, they are all subject to review, however given that we're already discussing the topics in new threads civilly there's no need.

That's the difference between censorship and moderation and why sometimes I'm uspet when one of my threads is locked and why othertimes I'm not.

Do you understand?

Ha ha ha! I love it.

Someone becoming a militant, intollerant little jerk simply to tell someone they are a militant, intollerant little jerk.

This has been a priceless forum moment. :D

Yes! Censorship is a GOOD thing when you decide it is!

ya mean in the same manner that you have decided that this represents censorship, while the residents of N'burg are actually involved in the process of reviewing what we as a collective would like to see as forum rules for ourselves?

ya mean like that?

Since you do not understand how the Neualtenburg government works (and I'm sure you have no desire to), I'll just simply state that you are wrong in your assumptions when it comes to Neualt. Non-Neualt references I cannot comment on. :)
