NO ONE is being intolerant towards atheist views. People are being intolerant of others running rampant with their expressing their own intolerance, over and over. It isn't necessary, and it is offensive. Just as it would be if I or anyone else ran rampant expressing intolerance toward atheist on the boards. It is hate speech, pure and simple. Nothing more, nothing less. Certainly nothing better. How about some of the other "irrational" social taboos that go against the TOS? Would you like to see THOSE expressed here, Chip? We got the idea when we read the TOS. The TOS says we have the right on these forums not to be faced with intolerant hate speech.

But valentines wouldn't be as big a deal, since not that many Christians are that wired into into St. Valentine's Day. "The next time you see a menorah, just take it or burn it," would be another example of intolerant hate speech toward another religion, and would be a big deal, at least to me. It's all symbols, yes. But if those symbols DIDN'T have such meaning - why would anyone bother making a post specifically to suggest burning them - in the first place? You can't use words specifically as a battering ram to start things, then turn around and try to claim that the words are harmless. coco _____________________
