(I am late to this thread, but I have to pipe in)
I checked out Furnation when I started spending significant time online again last week (it caught my eye on the map because of the incredible green density). Yeah, there was "porn" there, or at least adult content. The weird thing would have been if there WASN'T porn there, since this is Second Life, and one of the first vehicles I was given when I joined was a flying dick.
To be frank since I took a hiatus there has seemingly been an explosion in the furry population and the furry community itself has also evolved. In my mind though this is a very good thing for the longevity of Second Life. It's a pretty tight and fanatical (in a positive way) subculture that attracts creative minds.
So, what, there's an influx of builders and artists? Woe is us.
My big worry with the free accounts is that it will also cause an influx of mullets.

Nich, man... your going to drive me out of business when you open your free or nearly free vendors in six months?? That's cool, you do that. Of course since quite a few of my skins are given away by mentors for newbies I'm sure you will drive me out of business real quick and show that evil capitalist Kathmandu a thing or two by god.
As for the pictures in the gallery, few if any are "pirated" and unless Nex changed his mind in the last few days, they are on display and not for sale. In fact I seem to remember it being against the rules to display art that isn't yours or you don't have permission for.
It's ok, don't let the facts spoil your little tirade.

I'm coming out with a MMO/virtual world better than SL. It's in development. But I have to pee first, so it won't be out for three years.

1. wallhax
1.A hack like an aimbot used in the majority of Multiplayer FPS that allows the player to pass through walls.
2.Hack that works like no clip mode "That guy came from no where he's using WallHAX!"
From the Urban Dictionary, I look it up so you don't have to.

well if those picture were copied from someone else without theur permission its wrong and i do not condone that. but this thread was about anit furry sentiment...and i get the feeling that there is anti furry sentiment within the furry comminity Nicholas..or is just Your personal feelings towards furrys in FurNation?
I also find it quite amusing in a tacky tasteless sort of way to see ads like this in unrelated post and even more amusing to see someone bad mouth and condemn a competitor .....imao,, "

We'd have to take up watching daytime soap operas! I know this has nothing to do with the topic at hand (for those of you who are paying attention at this point), but you have quite possibly the coolest forum icon ever.

Thought I'd pipe in my 2 cents.
To Spooky, Whinge and other new furry creators out there, the furry market is *huge* and I dont think that you'll have a problem putting your name out there. Whinge certainly has made quite an explosive enterance into SL and I see his avatars all over the place already. Everyone's styles are so unique from each other that competition really is not an issue. If anything, even a little competition is a good thing and will make people strive to make even better works of art. I have been friends with Lusk since early 2004 and they have been 100% supportive in my own little venture. Lucah and I have identical vendors side by side and we make our own profits and competition has NEVER been an issue. I am getting more well known but my avatars are not super popular because they tend to be more 'toony' than anything else, but I'm very happy catering to a small crowd who likes such avatars. You'll find nothing but support from most of us avatar creators - I love seeing new works. We all learn from each other and admire certain things that others have done that is "out of the box" (like Whinge's bat wings attached to the hands... woah! And Liam's big cats... another woah!) and *most* of the furry creators respect this. So please, put your works out!
And about the entire "ban furries" thing:
No one is breaking any rules, so let's get over it - mmm?

Why is this thread, which was basically just started as a way to bash and complain about furries still open?

From: Cristiano Midnight Why is this thread, which was basically just started as a way to bash and complain about furries still open? Inadequate use of the triangle bad post icon accounts for the fact that some threads that should have been shut down just keep going, and going, and going. Like the EverReady Rabbit. Who, come to think of it, is a furry. Also the moderator does not like to shut down threads that have some pertinent material in them despite the presence of a lot of detrius, effluveum, flotsam, jetsam, and other such bad stuff. Plus no one will leave it alone and no one has subjected it to an intense attack of distracting pictures. And one could try starting a new thread on the topic of furries, but his time make it one created by furries with a whole bunch of deliberately crafted pleasant and informative posts from all segments of the furry populace and non-furry furry supporters. That might divert the flow into a better streambed.

I think it's because, despite the subject matter, no one has gone for the throat like in other threads. Personally, I see it as a great "Welcome to Second Life" hazing for the thread author.

Yeah I've pretty much stopped worrying about the drama and decided to finish my avatars and sell em. The money's not the big issue. I just wanna get my stuff out there and have people appreciate it. I'm an artist dangit, not a businessperson. ^_^

From: Aliasi Stonebender Yes, this entire thread is nonsensical The only furries I have a problem with are a particularly annoying subset who basically ignore anyone in a "furry sim" who isn't actually wearing a furry avatar. While I have a mild interest in things furry and keep a couple of avs handy for when I'm visiting, sometimes I'm just popping in for whatever reason, y'know? These folks, I throw prims at. I get that all the time. and i AM a furry. sad huh? I can walk through a 'big name furry sim' we all know about. There would be hundreds of people listed on the map, but nobody even says a word to me. Even when i go to extreme nmeasures i would wrather not mention here hehe. >_> I also welcome new av creators. i make Feral Fox avatars. and some cartoonish furry avs. Usually sonic the hedgehog fan type avatars. I love scripting too. If you need help ask. Having said all that i have 1 question. Whinge you got a vendor yet? im diing of cutness watching all these people wearing your avatars. Can i buy one early? ^-^ IM me sometime if ya can.

From: DogSpot Boxer Has SL been overrun by furries yet? They tried, but then the vampires got them. It was a simple matter to addict all of the vampires to Tringo and, while caught in the stupor and concentration of the game, send in a squad of Sith. Then we sent in some Jedi to take care of the Sith. We're still working on what to do about the Jedi. Maybe send the Trekkies after them.
