Last five in my playlist:

Ozric Tentacles - Saucers
Steely Dan - Charlie Freak
Blackfield - Open Mind
Paatos - Happiness
Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick

OMG Ozric Tentacles!!!!

One of my friends named her son after that band!

Ozric, not Tentacles ;)

Poor kid! hehe. I bet someone sings "we're off to see the wizard" at him at least once a day. ;)

Do you get The Point?
No, but around 1973 I did and was barely seperable from that piece of polyvinylchloride. Now I just mostly pour myself a cup of tea and think about the bubbles.

I *love* hearing groups like Steely Dan in the supermarket--I sheepishly (nods to Mal. Morning, Mal. :D) walk around pushing my cart singing out loud. Sometimes, I am all wrong. :D
In a different time or place, not singing in the supermarket would be all wrong. And I have never, ever, not once in my life been caught singing Pretzel Logic in the pasta aisle (good place, no?).

Dianne, Euterpe hipped me to this station at her house a couple weeks ago. :) And I sent DJ Steve a request, along with a Snapzilla shot of Eu and me dancing. And he PLAYED the song soon thereafter --- Toto Coelo's "I Eat Cannibals"! I hadn't heard it since, like, '82!

AND, when I checked my Gmail accounta bit later? I found a letter from that very Steve, responding to the request and the photo, thus:

"Looks like you guys have an interesting thing going on with your site."

I can only imagine the puzzled look on his face ... ;)

Oh, and: Just last week I sent him Javier Puff's new SL trailer. So who knows!

Only connect, isn't that right?
I am seeing this late so you wont get a response (you should have PMs enabled hon :(), but i was so happy to find that station myself. It s the only station i ever eard of that actually plays the music that one would actually listen to in the 80's instead of all that crap that passes for 80's today.

First time i heard of it, I turned it on to hear "Bela Lugosi's Ded" fllowed by "Go!" two songs taht I havent heard since almost 82 ;)

bleh excuse typing..

Joni Mitchell's "Case of You" from Miles of Aisles (the live album)

It is one of the few songs in the modern era that can make me weep and smile at the same time. The "Kyrie" from Mozart's Requiem does exactly the same thing to me.)

Danielle Dax "Fortune Cheats"
Blow Monkeys "Professor Supercool"
Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark "Telegraph"
Baby Ray (local Boston band) "The Idiots Are Out"
Veruca Salt "The Morning Sad"

Baby Ray sounds a bit like XTC. I saw them live recently, and was impressed. You can download a couple of their songs here.

Alone Again - God Lives Underwater
In Repair - Our Lady Peace
Shallow Bay - Breaking Benjamin
Right where it belongs - Nine Inch Nails
Toes across the floor - Blind Mellon

And other assorted tunes from my mix CD, pumped at a sadly quiet and discrete volume from my crappy computer speaker as to not sufficiently disturb my coworkers. God, I will never forgive them for taking away my headphones. :P
