The United States is a secular nation under the Rule of Law and the laws state that everyone has a right to privacy and that the law is not sufficient to unilaterally over-ride medical decisions made by a woman's doctor - as the doctor is the medical professional, and neither the law, nor lawyers, nor judges, nor officers of the law are medical professionals (for the most part).

Abortion on Demand may or may not be killing a viable living human being, but it's not the law's place to decide so, nor lawyers, nor judges, nor officers of the law. It is between a woman, her doctor, and sometimes the father.

And certainly not Dominionist Christians' place to make that decision.

To the OP (and other "outspoken" christians like you), it is you who are giving the rest of us christians a bad name. You speak up like this with half thought-out "arguments" in an attempt to bring recognition to some issue (or is that recognition to yourself) and then pat yourself on the back because you are being "persecuted for Christ", when in reality you are being persecuted because you start fruitless arguments.

Don't you think your time would be better spent (and more rewarding) to lead individuals to Christ instead of dropping christian carpet bombs that only serve to stir up trouble and show the rest of us how turly out of touch you are with what the great commisiion is all about?

Im a firm beleiver in that everyone has choice. No matter what the situation, its impossible for one person to dicate to another what is right or wrong in their own eyes. That is why a topic like this will never be resolved. You have people trying to force their opinions down other peoples throats who are too closed minded to even accept that someone may have a different point of view.

I think more people should just shrug their shoulders, and let people deal with things like this in their own ways. Plus the fact there are probably a few people that use SL that have had an abortion and I dont feel its correct to create such a thread on the grounds that you may be really hurting someone emotionally to justify your own 'heated debate'.

What a load. A woman has nearly no right to her body. She can't even smoke a joint legally, even though it's her body, even if a doctor prescribes it. A woman can't have an abortion at certain gestation periods according to state laws. So don't give me this crap about "privacy right" blah blah blah.

The state has an interest in the child, and therefore has the right to regulate or even deny abortions under state law. Once Roe v. Wade is overturned most states will disallow abortion.

Roe V Wade did not in fact legalize abortion or give women more rights over their bodies than they had before. It in fact overturned a previous law passed in the 19th century due to pressure from the catholic church that had stripped women of those rights and criminilized a long practiced medical procedure. Roe V Wade was simply the end of a prohibition on abortion and the end of yet another example of the church imposing it's will on the people and on the government.

If people like you manage to start that prohibition all over again it still won't change one simple fact - a woman's body is her own whether you like it or not.

Legal/illegal it won't matter.
