Jake, Why did this thread get burried? Its hard to say. I have been more focused on real life of late, and really I predict even less of my time wil lbe spent in SL or here on the forums inn the future, as DnD online comes out. this month. Also the flap over the impeach bush signs took a bit of my time, and now, disappointingly, I find the forums are moderated by residents. Not that I have a problem with this in principle, but I have a problem with indivisual selections, as they seem to be based on the popularity of the resident with LL and not a lack of disciplinary action. I think for resmodding to work you must pick resident s who are not prone to off the handle attacks, and who are willing to remove themselves from the day to day debates. I faiol to see how anything like neutrality can be established with resmods rotating every couple of weeks. Secondly there have not been published standards to guide the resmods as to what is or is not a tos/cs violation. LL was never able to solve this problem for themselves, and now that add residents to thier mix. TOS/CS enforcement has just become more arbitrary and random, not less. All of which means that I am less able to speak my mind and present the truth as I see it, without repercussions. It also means I feel less protected from the harassing posts of residents who come inot my thread and disparage my abilites as an attorney. An Ignore will keep a resident out, but it won't keep a resmod at bay. thus, I am largely done with the forums for a while, though I am not leaving SL, and I am not, as a result, checking the off topic as much as I should. I will of course try to respond to any questions for my loyal readers, at least until I am banned for not toeing the SL is a paltform, LL can do no worng, buck up and gets a job, objectivist, line. _____________________

Most smurfs are 100, not 10, years old, Papa Smurf is 542/543 (depending on the episode), and Grandpa is about twice Papa Smurf's age.
Most smurfs are male, are 10 years old and were around before smufette. Papa Smurf is even older at 500 and grandpa smurf is older than that. |

Jake, Lawyer Buddy
I got one for you as seen Here If the Prisident or Vice President Shoots at You, Can You Shoot Back? Would self defense be adaquate or would you still be arrested for trying to kill the President (or vice president as the case may be) Also, is Cheney afraid hes missing out on some killing not being in Iraq? Is that a possible reason why he shot that 78 year old guy in the face and heart? Sincerely Fear of Patriot Birdshot _____________________

Jake,
Why are so many SL "capitalists," who really don't seem to understand that Second Life is a platform that could go away at any time and they could lose EVERYTHING they have "invested" in SL, so consumed with making Second Life a more expensive experience for everyone? Is it because they are trying to make money selling Lindens? Thank you in advance, A Concerned Citizen who apparently doesn't understand "capitalism" _____________________

Okay.. Some coworkers and I were mulling this over a few days ago, and now I must bring this question to you, Jake:
Is water wet? Or is "wet" merely the sensation of being covered by liquid, and not a proper description of said liquid itself? Also, what causes the sensation of being itchy, and why does scratching the affect area sometimes make it feel much better, but other times make it feel worse? Jim Bob-a-louie, Caleb Moreau |

Is that a possible reason why he shot that 78 year old guy in the face and heart? Sincerely Fear of Patriot Birdshot Well yes you can shoot back. Self defense applies no matter what the status of your victim(unless they are law-enforcement acting in the line of duty-if a cop draws a gone its a bad thing). Thus if GWB shoots at you in a drive by, you are justified in shooting back to protect yourself. Keep in mind that the president and Veep have the SS, I mean secrete service agents to help in the shooting, so its really a losing proposition. Also if you do shot at the President or VP, its best to have venue moved to a blue state. No Cheney is not afraid he is missing out on Iraq. Iraq is a dangerous place. The 78 year old guy was a lawyer, maybe the guy commented on the homeland security bill? Truly though this was a hinting accident, and a sad one. It was preventable and well caused by hunter misjudgment-surely Cheney should not have shot, but the other person should not have stepped off the line perhaps. Its unclear. _____________________

Some day has to be a pain, and mondy suits the job just fine. Besides New Order would have to change the name on all 5345 versions of thier song "Blue Monday." _____________________

Jim Bob-a-louie, Caleb Moreau 1. water is wet. wetness is a property not a condition. There are liquids that are dry-forexample mercury. 2. Did you not learning about itching and scracthing in sex ed? I certainly cannot explain it to you, I am still scarred from the herding beavers movie. _____________________

I meant 100, it was a typo. Even if I am wrong you are not allowed to correct me without asking a question. you will be spanked by the first volunteer. Wow I am surprised nobody jumped on the chance to be the designated spanker, especially Zuzu, lol (and especially since it's been days since this post and I haven't had time to lurk in the forums). I would be more than happy to volunteer to be the designated spanker. I know I should ask a question or risk being spanked as well (although I like to be spanked hard). So, may I volunteer to be the designated spanker in light of the infraction of your rules? |

Hey Jake,
Why does Ben & Jerry's always end up discontinuing the ice cream flavors I like best? Does this indicate that I just like unpopular flavors, or are they trying to tell me something? -Ilia _____________________

Jake, why do people end the statement "I don't know?" with a question mark?

Jake, why do people end the statement "I don't know?" with a question mark? ( awaits the inevitable, witty, yet unsatisfying answer soon to follow >< ) In this case the ? would indicate a variation in timber if the statement was spoken and also an implied question. I believe the underlying question to be: is I don't know an acceptable response? (waits for spanking) _____________________
