Excellent, JSecure! Come to the meeting this Sunday (post just above yours) and let us all know your thoughts. I'm so excited.

Yeah I'm sick of Tringo! And Bingo! If you get back our proper events, I'll give a big corporate sponsorship

Glad to have your support Jsecure. I am going to make every effort to be at the meeting, but like you, RyeDin, I am currently burried in a pile of work.

Re Proposed meeting, Sunday,Sept 11
09-07-2005 11:46
I am confused as to times stated as I was fairlly sure that Linden (SL?) time was the same as PDT (still daylight savings time, afaik)
![]() That said, I made a committment to work security for that 'grand meeting' which is a New Orleans benefit concert including many of SL's LIVE musicians, which seems to me to be the very sort of 'rich content' we are planning to support. It runs from 3-9 pm PDT/SLTl, 6-12 pm EDT, 5-11pm CDT making my attendance at the first meeting impossible, to my regret. I hope that there will be a transcription of this meeting so that I will be up to speed on where this group wants to go. For my part, I have been working with LIVE music performances in SL for over a year and will continue to do so (my 2 L contribution to the spread of rich content) ![]() Hoping to meet all of you soon.............Cat ![]() _____________________

Sorry about that, for some reason I always use CST, EST, etc... can never remember the DT for daylight time.
Anyway, the meeting is at 5PM Linden time. That will be easier to remember. Sorry you can't make it, Catja, but yes that does sound exactly like the kind of content we are trying to support. Hopefully that stuff will be more prevalent as a result of our efforts. We'll at least try to do our best ![]() _____________________

I'll join, though I was secretly hoping it would be the Foundation for Outstandingly Rich Content. That provides you with an instant idea for a logo
![]() I doubt I'll ever make meetings unless you extend to a European section but I'll help in some way if I can. * A fork, for the hard of understanding. |

Great Garnet! That's also a great idea for the name, unfortunately we've already kind of baked the name as just FFRC... we already have a "working" logo and everything.
But that we can still use a fork, which I actually think is kind of cool. FFRC can still be pronounced fork if you want it to. A stylistic drawing of an Avatar holding a fork for our logo...? Like he wants to eat (consume) more content... hmm.. maybe ![]() We can talk about that stuff more at.... _____________________

Our First officially rescheduled official meeting
09-12-2005 06:20
Next Sunday, the 18th at 2PM Linden Time at Club Jasmine on the Isle of Bliss.
Well we had our first meeting yesterday (the 11th) at Club Jasmine. Three of us showed up: myself, Gabe Lippman and April Chung. That's fine though, it was a difficult day to try to hold a meeting (Sept. 11th). Before the meeting we checked out April's amazing pictorial tribute to 9/11. I highly recommend anyone and everyone to go take a look at it on the Isle of Bliss (April please post exact coordinates for ppl). About the meeting, we did get some things done. I unveiled our logo (first draft albeit) and we ultimately decided we need to reschedule the meeting for next Sunday. This will give us more time to pass out fliers and all that good stuff. So, put it on your calendar, put a sticky on your monitor, or do whatever you have to do to remember to come out and be a part of SL history. It's 2PM, Sunday the 18th at Club Jasmine on the Isle of Bliss. We will be electing officers and planning our first major awareness drive. _____________________

Fabulous!
09-12-2005 11:08
I'm glad to see someone taking this on and heartily applaud. I will be glad to contribute, though my schedule is odd. Mornings and late evenings work best for me for meetings, which means I might do best on a european schedule also. Can you please invite me to your group?
I plan to be there next Sunday. Cheers! _____________________

Oops, I feel like a heel. I totally missed that line, Garnet (must have been pre-occupied by the fork).
Ok, we will talk about extending to European sections. We definitely want as much help as we can get. Just not sure as of now what that means as far as where those sections are and who to talk to... we will get it all figured out. _____________________

I want to be there for this meeting. Do you have a flyer or a sign I can post on my land to announce this event? If yes, just drop it in my inventory.

Yes, as a matter of fact I just made a flyer last night in photoshop, however I haven't uploaded it as a texture yet. I'll have to do it tonight when I get home from work.
I'll drop one in anyone's inventory that has interest... _____________________

I think it would be nice to drop people a t-shirt with the logo on it or something similar with the flyer. As a little something for taking the time to read the note and to separate us from the normal spam/note. Maybe a lapel pin, t-shirt, or something.
I was messing around with GIMP yesterday and think I could do a t-shirt, but if someone can do it faster.... I am, of course, talking out my rear since I haven't done any clothing or jewelry/small prims, but thought I would I put it out there. Anything to generate goodwill and interest. I am also looking around for a high traffic spot to put a notecard vendor. _____________________

...man the forums are slow today...
Gabe, I'll try to get in asap and drop you a copy of the flyer. I could only get in last night for a few minutes and I gave it to April. Also, I can email you the photshop .psd file or the flat .jpg file of the logo and/or flyer if you want to try your hand at the t-shirt (just PM me your email address here). I'll be swamped all week working 12-15 hr days so home-time is family time this week ![]() _____________________

How about a medium traffic spot? hehe
09-13-2005 10:39
If you like, you can put one at the spa, Gabe. We have traffic usually of around 4000ish. And we're easy to find: the sim of Sylvina is us. The shopping plaza or the main entrance of the big building (the main spa) would be good locales. feel free to drop one off if you like. Also, the naughty fun store in pando would take one if you want (though our traffic is more like 100-200). Cheers.

![]() 09-14-2005 10:41
Hey Gabe
You know if you need a shirt or pin or whatever, I will do it for you. Nocturnal Threads would be honored to donate it. I will need logo or if you dont have that sorted yet, i can help with that. I do that sort of thing in RL. Just talk to me in world and Ill get it done for you within a day. Also as far as high traffic notecard, I can help u with that too. Have you seen the notecard vendor at Akasha? Its in front of my store on the wall. It's not run by us but I know who runs it and its like 30L per month. Im sure lots of other shop owners and club owners would help u out with that. See u in game kaia |

Thanks to everyone who have offered assistance, especially kaia Ennui, Cherry Took, and Garnet Psaltery. You have not been ignored. Unfortunately, I have been caught up in RL problems

Gabe is right, no one has been ignored... we just all have RL things going on right now and it's been difficult to get in-world and take you up on these wonderful offers!
Gabe, especially, has some stuff going on and I just personally want to thank you, Gabe, for everything you've put into this so far. As far as the t-shirts and notecard vendors... I will most likely be online during most of the day Sunday (of course for the meeting) and I will try to IM ya'll then to get things going. Again, just want to echo that no one is being ignored!! Just haven't been able to do much with SL all week ![]() _____________________

I wonder if the FFRC would be interested in presenting itself "officially" at the Second Life Community Convention (Oct 1-9 in-world, Oct 8-9 in New York City) by having a booth at the in-world exhibition area and having kiosks with information of what the FFRC is proposing to do, how it will sponsor events/creative things... and eventually even have a few people hosting some short discussions to explain the purpose of the FFRC, and recruit new interested people
![]() It could be a golden opportunity for promotion... _____________________

Wow! Now that would be a golden opportunity. Unfortunately, there are a number of reasons why I won't personally be able to make it. My brother's wedding is Oct. 2nd and I am the best man. Also, while I am dedicated to the FFRC and will donate my time and any/all $L I have/get... a plane ticket to NY, hotel room, food, cabs, etc... that's a lot of $USD which unfortunately I am not able to extend at this point in time. The last reason is of course the short notice. If I were to go (or if anyone of us representing the FFRC were to go), I'd really want some time to develop brochures and solid marketing materials for something like that. The last thing I'd want to do is just show up and head to local Kinko's to make something up quick
![]() Anyway, I will bring this up at our meeting and see what people have to say. If there is someone that feels strongly about this and we can pull together to get the materials out the door then I am ALL for it.... _____________________

Gwenyth,
I had previously looked into space for in-SL representation, but progressed no further than getting the fee scale (I think I IM'd Hiro about it). Any other information would be appreciated. Timing (when would builds need to be ready - ie do they need some kind of approval stamp prior to the event)? Event organizer expectations, etc.? RyeDin, check out this thread: /invalid_link.html _____________________
