Yep. There are only a couple of people who haven't checked in yet. Yet another attention whore outs themselves. I must say, the mental image of this poor thing gleefully keeping score of the attention she gets is sad, but what is sadder is that she actually thinks it matters, makes a difference, or is in any way more than a complete and utter admittance upon her part to pathology that is, at best, unhealthy. _____________________

I'm not the biggest money maker (yet ... heehee) but I do check forums frequently and can't remember seeing an opportunity of this being mentioned. i do, however, see the same names over and over being used so hmmm .... i must think about this.

...is the article published at the net??? yes I am in a land far away... ![]() Probably the magazine had a choice them self to,,,, to write what they wanted... I checked the internet version of the magazine, PetGirl, but didn't see it on there. Yes, the magazine had a choice what to write, and, of course, who to include in their story of those they interviewed. Sierra, those opportunities I mentioned - the ones regarding media have appeared in the PR Suggestion Box, a new forum they implemented that is under Linden Forums (there's a call there now for people who run religious organizations in the game). The one calling for content appeared in the Build and Texture forums, but someone complained in the Hotline that that was hard to notice, and suggested the Annoucements instead, and the next call for content did appear in Announcements. coco _____________________

I must have arrived! I'm on Ingrid's ignore list!
Then again, people announcing they are putting someone on ignore list is about as meaningful as me announcing that I'm no longer going to post. OK, that does it Ingrid - I'm no longer going to be your friend. And I do mean that. I would have liked to, as I do like you. But - that's the way it goes. coco _____________________

This is one of your better entries. By the way, I read in another thread about your new job. It sounds wonderful! I read, too, how hard you worked in high school. I was impressed, and I think you have a wonderful career ahead of you. coco _____________________

Sierra, This particular opportunity was not announced. If you want to be considered for such things, contact Catherine Linden at catherine@lindenlab.com . Keep picking that nit, Cristiano. Sierra, Prok was chosen because he responded to a post in that forum announcing a call for another publication, and as that publication was filled, she saved him for the next one to come along - which was Fortune, and that one appealed to him, too. If you want to be considered for such things, I suppose you can contact Catherine directly, as Cristiano seems to want you to do. But you can also keep an eye on the relatively new PR Suggestion Box and take a look at what sort of thing is there, and whether or not you might want to contribute. There's an opportunity there right now for people who have established religious organizations in SL. coco _____________________

She asked a direct question on how she became elligible for that opportunity, and your answer was incorrect. They did not announce that opportunity, which normally is your raison d'etre, but again, because you are pleased as punch with this one, you backtrack like usual. If you are going to answer someone, at least give them correct information. If someone wants to ensure their consideration, it is more direct to contact Catherine as not every opportunity is being announced. _____________________

I see. So you're saying that it wasn't necessary to make that opportunity public, because someone had already come to Linden Lab's attention who would be perfect for consideration. And that is okay with you now. All righty, good to know. |

They did not announce that opportunity, which normally is your raison d'etre, but again, because you are pleased as punch with this one, you backtrack like usual. If you are going to answer someone, at least give them correct information. I get it! *light bulb goes on* We are looking at the same thing from two different angles. I keep saying: "Prok was not chosen; Prok responded to a call." But you are not denying that so much as you are saying, "The call for Fortune magazine ITSELF was never announced." NOW I see what you are getting at. Not so much how Prok ended up in the magazine, but the fact that you never saw the magazine itself listed in the PR Suggestion Box! I would assume, if so, that has to be because there were already enough people piled up from previous calls to take care of that particular magazine. In which case - yes, this is a flaw in the system. Because it would assume that people want to be considered - for anything - rather than want to know what the particular calls are, for those that may appeal to them more than others. In other words, they should AUTOMATICALLY list every media call. If, as you say, they aren't doing this, then they need to change that. Because it would indicate they are still thinking of residents as an amorphous pool, except that now one can insert themselves into said pool. If so, that is not the best way to serve either the magazines or the residents. They need to list each call individually - whether for Fortune, a religious magazine (or whatever the religious thing was for), etc. That way, the magazine/newspaper/whatever gets more of the specific type of people they are looking for, and we get more of what we would like to participate in. For instance, if Memory Makers were looking for scrapbookers in SL, I'd really want to know that, whereas I wouldn't be interested in Fortune at all. A small quibble for me to pick with them, but a good point, Christiano. coco _____________________

Mind blowing, n'est-ce pas? My grandmother and great grandmother both suffered some pretty profound mental illness (schizophrenia most prominently). It seems to have ended there, but at times, it does give me pause. Stuff like this makes me wonder if either a) I'm going insane or b) I have slipped through a transient Einstein-Rosen Bridge into an alternate universe where quantum probabilities have altered sufficiently to make everything I believe I know to be true completely reverse itself. Then I remember that some people are nothing if not wildly hypocritical and salvage whatever shreds of sanity remain within my grasp. |
