Heads up, y'all! Coming to the stands soon, the latest issue of Fortune magazine, featuring Prokofy Neva, Anshee Chung, and Aimee Weber, in a story on virtual business in SL. Unfortunately, since Prokofy offered to give his real name, they neglected to state his SL name and businesses. For anyone who reads the article and doesn't know, the person in the article pictured holding a skyscraper is actually Prokofy Neva, who runs, among other things, Ravenglass Rentals. I haven't seen the article myself yet, so I may have some details wrong. coco

Well-covered businesses? I thought that you were against such things. Oh, right. 'Cause they did your buddy. Now it's cool. Okay.

I'm all for the Lindens putting people in front of the media that will advance the platform. I couldn't resist my earlier troll which was just so obvious and cute.

From: Cocoanut Koala Unfortunately, since Prokofy offered to give his real name, they neglected to state his SL name and businesses. Is this the same Prokofy that went completely apoplectic at the thought of anyone discovering her real life gender or identity? Good to know that was all just theater for the sake of getting sympathy.

From: Cocoanut Koala Heads up, y'all! Coming to the stands soon, the latest issue of Fortune magazine, featuring Prokofy Neva, Anshee Chung, and Aimee Weber, in a story on virtual business in SL. How were the people who were interviewed for this magazine selected? Why wasn't I notified and given a chance to interview? And, what will LL do to ensure this sort of favoritism never happens again?

Umm, yea.
I'm kinda baffled by the fact that I could gel with some of what Prokofy was posting about the idea of the "FIC". I kinda lost a bit when he complained about something being given away for free because "someone else might want to sell it". But now he says that he got called at home by Linden Labs!?
And Cocoanut is praising that this is "clear they're offering out PR opportunities", when it's Aimee and Anshe again?
I'm confused. I'm going to go make stuff.

Is it true that Fortune had to add a special 5 page foldout to accommodate Prok's section? I heard it was formatted as a single, super-long column of text.

I don't know which issue it is; I haven't been out to look for it yet. But I will take this opportunity to clear up part of this post and why I have made the comments I did, for anyone who might not have read carefully this and my other thread: 1. Notice that Prokofy is in this article. 2. Notice that my house was chosen for a Linden promotion. 3. Both these events occured as a direct result of the Lindens offering these opportunities to everyone. In Prok's case, it was as a result of his responding to a post in the PR Suggestion Box, by Catherine Linden, I believe. In my case, it was a result of my responding to posts in the building and texture forums, asking for submissions for consideration for the promotion, brought to my attention in the General forum by Malachi Petunia's post. After that, someone posted in the Hotline that the next time, the call for content for Linden projects should be posted in Announcements, where people are more likely to check. And the next time, with the next call for Linden promotional content, it was. That is why I'm glad that these opportunities for media inclusion and build opportunities are offered to everyone who would like to be considered for them. coco

Yes, it has, and yes, I do. And not just for me, but for everyone who has taken advantages of these opportunities. I'm grateful to the Lindens for making them available to all of us. coco

Many people can just be happy doing what they love without needing recognition. Others need attention. LL's decisions were a step in the right direction for those who crave the spotlight. But it means very little to so many others who just don't.
