P2 Yeah, but her sex was mentioned in a thread here a year ago, and it's been blown out of proportion with accusations like "to track me down in RL". If anyone other than coco did this, don't you think the shit would hit the fan? Seems to me Prok coached coco to post here. The article is not even out, yet details of it were posted here. Sorry, Weedy, I am my own person, with my own opinions that have long outdated my knowledge of other players on this game.
Yes, I knew the article was coming up. And I knew that the premium promotion would be over sometime, and I could put my house that was used in that on the market. (Not that I couldn't have earlier, or even have sold it before, but I wanted it to be special for the duration of the promotion.) But the now-locked post are things I had noticed in the past month or so, and thought I should give credit where credit was due. I finally got around to posting about it. The idea of making that post pre-dated my knowledge of any article in Fortune. Then I encountered two tremendous cases of serendipity which led to THIS post: (1) I discovered after I had made the other post that the Fortune article was coming out this week! I thought it would have 2-3 months lead time, as my publications (rl) do. And (2), last night, I learned the promotion was over, and I could put my house on the regular market. I had also just found out the day before that the Fortune article was coming out this week. Talk about things all coming together at once! Hence, THIS post. Not that I owe anybody that lengthy explanation or that anybody need bother to follow it. Just to say, no, I don't take "coaching" from anybody, ever. I take advice from EVERYONE - and consider it, and accept it or reject it, or mull it over for quite a while. But coaching - no. Everything you have ever seen me do or say in these forums has precipitated by only one person - myself. coco _____________________

Since this is a toot-ones-own-horn-about-fame thread, I'd like to happily announce I'm giving a phone interview tonight to discuss and explain the math skills required to work in a computer-game environment.
The interviewer is 11, and it's for his school paper. I am delighted and honored that he thought to ask me for my insights, and he was very professional when he was setting up our appointment yesterday. I'm sorry that this wasn't announced, and that you didn't have an opportunity to compete to be interviewed, but i felt that full-disclosure of the facts could quell any objections if any of you happen to be his class-mate and end up reading the paper. |
