You posted out of glee, because your friend was featured, and that it is a sign that "opportunities are now open to all".

Torley is interested in all articles about SL, and posts links to any she finds, not just because her best SL friend was featured.


I don't think "It is also in everyone else's self-interest.", when a person who is forbidden to post on the forums because of repeated CS violations, who has been suspended on more than one occasion inworld for harrassing speech, who distributes a list of people to not "do business with" (especially to new players) because of petty envy, animus, and malevolence, spreads rumors about various SLers and their supposed RL relationships with Linden employees, blog stalks people who he obsesses on, etc., etc., is allowed to represent Second Life in a well-known, high circulation magazine.

It's a travesty. One cannot become an SL volunteer without having a clean record for 6 months, yet ones who don't, get a nod from LL to represent SL nationally? Meh.

Of course I did not just dis Torley! And no reasonable person would possibly conclude I did. And Torley knows I would not dis her.

Torley often posts about magazine and other media articles, in case you haven't noticed. Others do as well, just not AS well.

My point - for those who have a hard time seeing it - is that the individual who posted the dismissive response above, to my thread pointing out THIS article (which also containes Anshe Chung and Aimee Weber, as mentioned earlier) - should then also post the same dismissive post to the next person who draws our attention to something in the media.

Which may well be Torley, as she seems to be a whiz at that.

I'm fairly certain that my dissmissive response was, for the record, an example of a person posting a item about themselves, before it's even come out. It's tactless, self-aggrandizing, shameless, and Flosery which is my new term for Forum Losery.

When Aimee, Neph, Chip or any of the OMFGFIC! get interviewed or mentioned, it's favoritism, FICness, Linden pets and INJUSTICE!!!

If the article had featured Aimee, Anshe, and ESPECIALLY Ingrid - who I haven't seen in an article before -

- AND if I knew they had applied for the opportunity to speak to the media, rather than being selected for arbitrary reasons, whereas no one else knew to apply -

- then yes, of course.

Just as I would have been glad for the opportunity to build the house - to have been NOTIFIED of the opportunity - whether or not my particular house was chosen this go-around.

This is such a basic concept, such a simple, reasonable concept, it is formidable that all of you seem incapable of grasping it. In fact, I think you can all grasp it all too well.

The reasons were never arbitrary. The media comes to LL with a particular topic in mind and LL directs them to succsessful, well spoken, and trust worthy people.

I grasp it perfectly fine. What you can't seem to grasp is that THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS NOT ANNOUNCED. NO ONE WAS NOTIFIED OF IT. Get that through your head.

As far as my opinion about Prokofy, yep, I hold it very strongly, having been harassed and slurred by Prokofy for months, including the lowest of her attempts to demean me by bringing my being Hispanic into the mix and using that to attack me. What she has done to Aimee is far worse, it is both sexual harassment and stalking. Let's not forget talking about how CrystalShard should be shot. This is a shining example of SL? Please. The single only reason she got onto the list is because the Lindens have a policy of letting those who submit for the opportunity have it - they did not recommend her, and it is in no way a statement of their opinion of her. Why would they have a positive opinion of such a derisive and destructive person?

Actually they direct them to who asks to be directed to, that is their policy.
