Pathetic I think. At first I think a noob decides, 'hey, i wanna be, like, a pimp!" ...but the fact that soon after they find hundreds and hundreds of other pimps with the exact same outfit all the way to the pimp cane and pimp feather fedora.... and then instead of coming to the conclusion that their pimp idea is completely unoriginal... instead they find women willing to work for them, have sex with them, and Johns willing to pay for tricks....

Although I find all pimps, hoes, masters, and slaves pretty pathetic.... Sorry to say... in SL they are all businesses because of the fact people are willing to pay for these services.

But then... what makes other stupid SL worthy? and the pimpin industry not? Pimpin ain't easy. Being a generic clothing maker, hair maker, shoes maker.... to me it's just as pathetic as a sex worker.

Why buy? There's so many that give ya some for free.

"Master" and "Pimp" are two different things. And Masters are not necessarily Gorean, as someone else posted.

In the D/s lifestyle, Dominants/Dommes are referred to as Masters or Mistresses. It is part of the power exchange lifestyle, not a game. Unfortunately in SL there is a group which anyone can join and get the title "Master" even if they don't have a clue as to what it means. For these people, it IS a joke. Or they're a joke. You pick. Most of them probably think D/s is an excuse to abuse. Avoid them at all costs.

Pimps, however, have come to be glamorized by pop culture for some reason. I've never understood how a man who beats women and forces them to sell their bodies to support him could ever be idolized by anyone. But there you go.

Reason why I asked about the master thing is this.

My neighbor in the game came over to my house yesterday. And he brought "his woman" with him. And she was all talking weird, and she had to ask permission before she could speak. It was so weird for me to watch, and about that time SL crashed on me. When I came back they both tped somewhere else. I never like it when SL just crashes, but in this case it was a blessing..hahaha

I'm sure there are a lot of things in SL that we might find "weird" if we've never been exposed to it. As long as she wasn't IMing you screaming for help to escape his evil clutches, it's really not an issue, is it?

Different people share different views on the limits involved in sexuality and relationships. The D/s community has very strong roots in second life. Sadly, there are a lot of people with no knowledge of D/s who try to use it to their advantage. Fortunately, these people are weeded out pretty quickly. The Master/sub relationship is complicated to explain to someone with no knowledge of the lifestyle. True Master do not "abuse" those who are submissive to them.

As for the whole pimp thing, well, I feel everyone has a right to try to earn a buck in SL as long as it conforms to the community TOS. I see plenty of escorts, but they are usually managed by VERY financially prosperous clubs, not by, lol, lone pimps. If a girl or guy wants to earn there way through second life selling their virtual body, more power to them.

I have no objection to people doing consensual stuff to each other. The drag is when some guy gives himself an Sl first name "Master". I mean har har.

I've always viewed that as a sneaky sort of way to get around consensuality issues with titles; in that case, I either address them as Mister <last name> or ignore them entirely, depending on attitude.

To many people, SL is one big sex toy. Which is absolutely fine, if that's their thing...

What many of them seem not to understand, is that not everyone else in SL wants to watch them masturbate.

Their lifestyle play on SL is being pointed out as I type this is a BDSM play (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BDSM). Both of them are likely getting aroused with her public humiliation and therefore are putting you in the position of being involved in their sex life.

I suggest you ask them to tone it down or leave. IMO a good BDSM player will respect the host's wishes, even if those wishes are for them to switch off the kink.

A Pimp is someone who employs a group of people (male or female) and hires them out as entertainment for other people... Which may or may not be sexual

The Master thing is more or less having a group of people (yet again male or female) that will do anything without question whenever they feel like suggesting it... I personally think that these people just want to experience something they would never do in RL which is why they do it here

'Master' is as much D/s as Gor. As for small woohoos and whatzits, every group has someone trying to make up for something. Not everyone is just trying to compensate.

As for the "Master" part I can touch on that more past the explanation of it not only being Gorean's who use the term, an step into why the term itself is used, at least from my view point which is just that mine.
