Yes, and I took it away right after it was pointed out that that would have the thread locked. I posted the IM conversation we had into the forums, which clearly means he had to know about it prior to me posting the IM conversation because we had the conversation because of what I wrote in the forum.

I was pointed to this thread by an in-game IM from someone telling me that my private IM to the OP was posted here in it's entiriety. Otherwise I hardly ever view the general forum.

And Arbitar isn't "the other griefer." He's a coresident in the sim. You told me that everyone LOOOVVESS being in the same sim as you and I'm the only one who complained, so I sent IMs to everyone else in the simulator. Surprisingly enough everyone who's replied says they hate you and your tacky-ass building.

No you haven't, incidentally. I've muted you. As has Arbitar. And multiple concurrent people have said exactly the same things as me. What, exactly, have I lied about?

How does it bog down the sims? I mean I thought it makes money to have more people there? I thought location wants to be popular ? What is the perfect location for a store out in the middle of nowhere in a deserted location or somewhere that attracts lots of people?

Fly-by traffic won't really amount to anything. If people want to find something they use search or the classifieds.

A lot of users sitting in one spot taxes the system. A sim has a finite number of people allowed in at one time, between 30 and 40. When 20 or 30 of those people are AFK it means the sim slows down making shopping and building difficult, and not to mention teleporting.

I think you are all way too hard on the campers. Do you know what its like to not have any linden money in SL ? And the money they make they spend so why complain. I tried it and some of those camping places are fun because you can chat with people while you sit there and make friends.... anyway what other job did you have in mind for them?

But I decided to be creative and make something a person wanted. I accepted a few contract scripting/building jobs which really helped. One job gave me as much L$ as I would get for camping for nearly a month or two.

Basically these people have a problem with me paying out hundreds of dollars every month and decided to rent land in my sim a few days ago to start harassing me. Sure, they could rent anywhere in a less busy sim and be happy, but they would rather pretend there isn't enough virtual land for everyone.. Really they are complaining about something they threw themselves in the middle of..

Find me land with even a small waterfront in a PG sim of equal size, by OnArt, I would consider it over this. But PG sim greatly limits it, and waterfront even more. I had a certain land type I had in mind when I was looking for land, and I found it, just before others did, it seems. Not everyone wants any land they can get. If I didn't find this, I would most likely not have my land yet until I found an acceptable parcel.

And by your own admission you bought that land (what a 1,500m plot?) after I have been there for months. And you never said a single word to me until you decided to join the OPs little harassment campaign. You knew what sim you were buying land in, dont act suprised..

I could care less how much you pay out every month. I could care less that you run a casino. I could care less that you have a terribly ugly building. That's not why I'm complaining.

I'm complaining because as of this exact moment there are 22 people in the sim and there's only one of them not sitting in your casino -- me. And they are ALL on camping pads, and they are ALL AFK. I'm complaining because the sim time dialation is hovering aroung 50% right now and I get 10 FPS flying anywhere below 200 metres. I'm complaining because when I rez something it comes up a minute later, because when I type something I have to leave a pause or my messages come out of sequence. I'm complaining because a customer just came here and said "AARGH! Too laggy!" and left. Are you going to give me the L$300 that she was going to spend? I doubt it. Then don't complain about me having the audacity to expect you to provide real content for active players or get the hell out. Because this is ALL your fault.

As do I, please do not get me wrong. I have an incredibly strong bias. But saying that nimrod is biased and his opinion does not count becasue of that is saying you don't either, nor do I. Or any of us. Last time I checked, most everyone will be particularly inclined to agree with one side of an argument over another.

Wow. I have not desire to restrict what a land owner can and can't do on his property. If LL starts regulating what one does in the privacy of their own home (or SL land) where do we go from there? That being said, good grief at the childish banter. "you didn't mute me, I muted you"? This isn't happening on some pre-teen grid is it?

If we want to cut down on extra avs floating around, let's ban all alts. That cuts out roughly a third of the operating population. (please correct my numbers if you have better) Then we'll limit store owners to only one location. There is no need for multiple store fronts when there is no drive time or distance issue. Anyone that wants a Vindi suit can visit the main store and skip the resellers. Now, that just opened up a lot of very nice flat waterfront land as the strip malls all dry up.

Any thoughts? I mean coherent thoughts?

Actually guys I might want to change my opinion of camping because I have upgraded and want to buy land and open a small store. But I have still been learning how to create here to get things to sell, and that means I have a little while to go yet before offering things for sale I just wanted to get the land first . My only real skill right now is making textures and that isnt enough lots of people seem to be doing it. I came to the forum hoping for advice in picking land suitable for a store . I have been looking at first land and I havent found what I like .... the nicer land at 512 is more expensive and I dont know if I want to pay any higher tier fee for larger land. Anyway I still have a fondness for the camping chairs and might still sit in one once in a while if only to chat with people and make a bit of money, but I wont have any on my land too cheap to pay for it lol ...Oh and being a newbie still I have a right to ask , what are sims? How do they work? Are they like objects or prims on land ?Are you saying it creates lag in the general area even if you own a different piece of land ?

And for those people in SL who do not yet know enough to do things like scripts what jobs are out there? And dont say stripper or prostitute please... if you want camping to stop give people another way to make lindens a way you prefer...

You're confusing issues. It's not that he has a lot of people on his parcel. It's that he has a lot of people on his parcel taking up sim resources when they are ALL on dancing pads and ALL AFK.
