Ban campers!!

So there's this casino/club in the sim where I keep my store that's usually got 20 campers at all times of the day.

And, well....

I guess I just got kindof fed up and decided to leave a notice so they realized what they were doing....





I made the texture and I'm happy to give it out to anyone else who wants to make a similar statement.

Well if you feel THAT strongly I'll just take my camping chair and go home!!!!! ...well, I've never camped actually...

Looking For A Real Job

I have the same situation in a sim I'm in. The lag isn't an issue (not much, anyway) but it does keep me from holding concerts there. Usually, a show will fill a sim for the hour, and I hate to leave people out. BUT, they have a right to be there just as much as I do, so I am a good neighbor Granted, you have a shop there, so you're losing business because of it. I can always hold a concert elsewhere.

Maybe some day I'll strike a deal with the owner, and pay each of the folks who would be camping out there the amount they would have made camping during that time, in order to have a more open sim for shows Probably only cost me $1 US too

Camping is boring...and it doesn't earn well...

I don't understand why people want to sit on a chair for so long for just a few pennies.

Two reasons that I can think of: a) they don't know any better, and b) zero imagination. Anyone older than a few days sitting in a camping chair is usually from column B.

And in news now... Huge obnoxious signs to replace campers...

You should put the signs back up. Twice as many.

I put them up on the land right outside his casino which he doesn't own and has no control over. The land owner liked the idea.

I don't know if it's balls so much as being unconcerned now that the forums are disappearing.

I keep telling people that what we need is a group of 20 to 30 people that will hang out in sims with more then ten camping chairs. Just hang out at the neighbors. Once the owners start learning what it is like not to be able to use the Sim resources they may be more willing to talk.

An anti-camper protest group. We could hold parties in whatever sim needs us everyday.

I'm all for it. I'll make some avatars with the sign so we can walk around.

I'm not griefing, I'm showing them what they're doing wrong. A lot of campers don't realize that what they're doing is bogging down the sims.

Indeed. Especially when you are new. Unfortunatly, I camped for a few night at this very place when I was brand new. I stumbled upon it and literally did not know what else to do in SL.

I think griefing the campers would be bad form and I agree most probably don't realize the problems they cause.

Unfortunatly, I do not have a solution for the problem. Protest seems like a decent idea.

Incidentally, I feel bad for you living near there. That has got to be one of the ugliest builds I have seen in my short SL life so far. (The Casino in question)

Oh it's absolutely terrible. I initially IM'd him to ask him if he could do anything about the grotesque bleeding texture problem he has, specifically where the floor meets the walls. I even went so far as to offer to fix it completely free myself.

I sort of semi-live with Josh, I generally wonder around the area.

It seems some sort of progress has been made. A Linden popped in, *puuf* he's gone. I look..*puuf* all but one pad has gone.
