Dragon bits. Is that some kind of food item?

"Caesar Salad, please. Hold the dragon bits, I'm watching my weight."

Dragon meat is very lean - like ostrich or buffalo. You can have the dragon bits, but maybe take it easy on the dressing.

At any rate, his were covered. I think the issue was that he wasn't dressed within their dress code.

From: Dragon Muir

Then I can make my own rules, but the sad thing is I would probably be very liberal and welcoming of all people as long as they are not trying to crash the sim or with guns blazing at each other.

There's nothing sad about this at all. I'd run my sim the same way if I had one.

Out of Seven Pages I see one place named that is a fantasy realm that isn’t so strict like most of the fantasy and role play elitist Sims. Island of the Wyrms. That is a PG sim keep in mind. Not sure if you’re allowed to show any skin or saying a naughty word like “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious”. ^.=.^

I need to go, so I will check to see if anyone else has any other places that are pretty and friendly when I come back later. :P

I see this thread still hasn't been locked yet - that's good, as I'm still not able to get in here before the lock, so I don't know if I'm going to make it.

I keep trying to re-arrange my schedule to allow for the few moment's it will take to get in here...perhaps I need a secretary.

Yes! A secretary...someone who'd be willing and able to help me. With so many things. Intelligent, patient, professional...

/wanders off looking for Maureen...and hoping he can find her to help him get into this thread at least once before it's locked...

Hoo-Boy!

For someone who doesn't like rules, you seem to have a few of them listed on your profile - one of those "don't talk to me until you read my rules."

So you are "dragonkin" but were walking around in Avilion in an anthropomorphic form. Dragons are welcome in Avilion from the last time I read their role play rules. So all you had to do was put on a simple loincloth and all would have been well.

I believe I read on one of your "rules" profile picks that you are not here for drama. Looks to me like you wanted to create a bit there instead of complying with a simple request.

As someone else stated....go to Isle of Wyrms. You can walk or fly or crawl in those sims in any avatar you can imagine.

Oh...IBTL ;)

Wow seven pages and I still managed to get InBeforeTheLock! :)

And now for something completely different:

"The pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon; the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true."

Can you name the movie and the actor? :D

I'm sorry to be the one to break it to you, but although avatars may not always appear to be human, everything in SL is run by humans. Call up all your dragonkin folk, buy a sim, and make up your own rules.

Isabeau, this is one of the typical furs (wait, he's special, he's dragonkin) that give sane ones a bad name.

Where to start? Sigh, I just can't do this one in full politeness mode, so Dragon Muir..Sir or Madam....here goes.

Grow up, they pay for the sim so can have any rules they wish.
Grow up, they can interpret the rules any way they wish as they pay tier, not you.
Grow up, you are NOT a dragon-whatever, you're a human playing with a 3D puppet in a dragon suit in a game.
Grow up, No one likes a rules lawyer (your rules say dressed, and I am, for a dragon is being a rules lawyer).
Grow up, barely covered in leather straps is NOT proper attire for most (non-gorean, non-fur) sims.
GROW UP!!! You are the elitist, not them. You have an entitlement complex a mile wide, to demand the tier-paying sim owners bend to YOUR will.

Sorry for being rather harsh, but when you have the USD$ to buy and pay tier on a sim of your very own, then your rules apply. Until then, you adapt to the rules of the sim or you leave the sim. A simple concept for adults, eh?

I have not encountered those places. I tend to go to fantasy and fur places. Fur places tend to be very welcoming and easy going. Fantasy places tend to be RP elitists. :P

Really?

This past week a group I am in did an experiment in avatar-prejudice. (Something that seems to be right up your alley *smiles*). We each wore avatars much different than our norm. I opted to go Furry as I had NO former contact with or much knowledge of the Fur community.

I went to Luskwood several times to look for then eventually purchase my AV. A lot of people were standing around chatting but didn't acknowledge me. Ok...no biggie. I really wasn't looking for conversation, but would have engaged in such if offered.

My partner and I returned yet another time to walk around Luskwood so I could start to feel comfortable in the avatar. Once again surrounded by lots of people at the tp in area. We stood there quite awhile so I could see the various types of avatars and how people modded them. I commented to my partner that no one had said anything to me/us all the times we were there. My partner was a furry when he first began in SL and said, "Luskwood tends to be a bit cliquish."

One man's perception isn't necessarily universal...either way. ;)

Heh - I actually like this rule.

New rules for me.

First: Don't talk to me unless you first offer me a chocolate chip cookie. Oatmeal will do in a pinch if you don't have chocolate chip. I'm even ok with the snickerdoodle.

Second: If you disagree with me, you must do so silently and with great reverence.

Third: Everyone in SL is required to tithe 8% of their stipend to me. God wants 10%, so I'm undercutting him in an attempt to steal his business.

IV: I like blue. Bring me something blue.

Cinco: Reserved for a rule to be named at a later date

F) Males are required to wear pants. Women are required to wear bikinis. Nobody is required to wear a tie.

7: Go make me a sandwich.

Etc...

Protip:
Try not to go this way. Real life won't work with your argument. If someone is butt naked on a Zebra in Africa and comes to a small midwest county you can bet dollars to donuts they will be told to put something on. :)

did someone mention donuts?

...still checking - don't know if I can get in before the lock or not, but it's looking more promising.

Which is really what I'm hoping for, as the opening post for this thread really does seem a bit inflammatory, and I'm wondering if the forum moderator will simply lock this thread, or "disappear" it as well, as some seem to have done in the past...

Damn, I'd like to be a part of this thread - will just have to see what I can arrange.

you iz heer. you iz part of teh thread.

We're having our meeting tonight to discuss how the week went for us. You're most welcome to attend. Shoot me an IM if you need a lm. Time is 6:30 SLT.

There were two children - one was really nervous at Ahern so my Partner and I stuck with her. The other was a child neko. Had a fun conversation with her. :)

I wanted to come up with a few clever rules of my own, but you seem to have covered everything so I'll just add to my profile,

"I haz rulz,
please see Trout's profile before addressing me."

At any rate, I've run around Avilion as a dragon without experiencing any problems at all. In fact, I went with a friend, and she and I wandered about pretending to be old jewish dragons looking for a place to retire. I was a CPA, she was a fabric saleswoman. We just hit 1600 years old and were cashing in our IRAs and moving South. My Yiddish is a little rusty, but I think we pulled it off, and everyone we met up with caught on and had a great time! I called the men "Food" and the women "Grandaughter", but since they weren't kosher, I didn't eat any of them.

It was one of the best RP experiences I've ever had. I recommend Avilion.

But Trout... I thought you said you were no good at role play...

As far as the OP, I do see a serious lack of respect here. If you want to go play in someone's sim, it's only polite to conform to their dress code. They didn't ask you to leave or say you were unwelcome, only asked you to change your attire. Sheesh.

This is turning out to be almost as entertaining as the woman who went to the Gor Sim, harrassed and made fun of them, then complained when they followed her around doing the same.

That was a good one. :)
