We live in a world where 39 years ago the Rolling Stones had to cowtow to sensors to change the lyrics on their song from "Lets spend the night together" to "Let's spend some time together". The rules of decency are fluid, and I submit that if there was no market for it, the name wouldnt have ever even come up. Remember... people have PAID me to use that name. the day business shouldn't push the limits is the day that we should all retire.. and the day the sex industry fits in a cozy little comfy box is the day men should start having sex with their wives instead of cartoons

That is something much of the SL sex scene is missing, imagination. Risque beats raunchy every time in my opinion.

Colette... I often find myself agreeing with you, and boy, have you hit it right...

Ok, gonna piss someone off here...but even some of the toys = Xcite., I mean c'mon...clickity clickity, oooh, im cumming??

Sheesh, where's the love.

Yeah... 39 years ago

and, oh... 100 years ago exogamy was totally frowned upon, and in some societies punished severely.

But, hey it looks like in that case we evolved in the right direction.

While my sexual practices both in SL and in RL raise some eyebrows, I don't think I'd ever want me or mine associated with a place called cumrags... skankrags, or any kinda nasty rags.

Just because we're getting older, doesn't mean we all getting better.

No disagreements here. the sex scene here is largely bland.... in part cuz those who try to kick it up a notch get slammed... and in part... cuz it's just lame.... BUT... it makes money... and that is what i am here for. not alot of newbies i know making 10-15K L per day in thier 2nd month outside of the sl sex industry. mine is not to judge, but if guys wanna act ridiculous, i have no problem taking their money.

That there is a market for it is not in question. I'm certain there is. Whether it can reasonably be construed as "indecent" is also not in question. The name clearly is indecent, and as such, does not belong in the common spaces of Second Life, according to the terms and standards we "agreed" to when we joined. This is not a new policy.

Yes, the rules of decency are fluid, to a limited extent. However, if Second Life is to be dominated by filth businesses such as yours, where vulgarity and skanky behavior and speech are the order of the day, it will be at its peril. I don't want that to happen.

would douchebags be indecent? After all it was used in E.T. a movie that carried a PG rating in 1992? What if we changed it to Douche Rags? Does that make it indecent? Its not a title that is pleasant to me, but the question is it indecent?

"but if guys wanna act ridiculous"... WHAT??!! is that gender discrimination I'm hearing?? You don't think women find the "sex scene" in SL bland?

I'm thinkin' you're missing some market share, m'dear. Better re-think your business plan.

I actually think sex is a very worth while pursuit online. THe fact that your free from the danger of disease, and insane people dont know where you live is a major freeing factor.

But yeah .. wow .. is it too much to ask for a resonable sized portion of the sex biz to show more creativity than a typical porn site?

examples -

the strip clubs are tacky and crass, most movies and TV shows do a better job of presenting them.

Theres no good no-tell motels - anywhere ..

Theres not really any good luxury hotels either..

The sky boxes are all billed just as sex rooms. Some are okay but the skill building them pales next to a lot of the stores in Second Life.

I dunno bout other people but when I fantasize meeting someone for a illicit liason a hotel room is involved not a "tp here for sex room and pay .."

No I dont always want to have sex in my own room.

From time to time nice romantic places crop up , but they always seem to die in favor of click-a- hooker places.

Escorts are fine - but the way they are presented doesnt make them seem all that alluring in my opinion.

Not even trashy is done good. The average TV show street walker scene does Trashy better than the Trashy places around.

Prokofy Neva used to have the pink flamingo motel. It was a beautifully done no-tel motel.

seen it -

only one demo room now , none you can use that I could see.

A scandalous encounter in a no tell motel room is seems much better to me than a vip room in a sex club hehe

Who gets to be the decency Police?

Who gets to determine the definition of vulgar? DaVinci was considered Vulgar when he postulated the absurd theory that the earth might spin around the sun and visa versa. The reality is that morality and definitions of vulgar are all based on an archaic and random moralilty theory. Your definitions of vulgar is my bread and butter. To me it's vulgar that EVERYONE seems to want to judge what my business does, and yet I am never at a shortage for clients or workers. I submit that hypocricy is far more vulgar than in your face truth of humanity will ever be.

I didnt say vulgar - just that I think the SL adult industry in general needs a make over.

your biz might do trashy very well I have no idea.

(psst - Was Copernicus and Galileo with the earth and sun thing not DaVinci. It was heresy not vulgarity, It couldnt have been Vulgar becuase at the time the term refered to texts that were written in the common language not in latin)

Its very easy to be vulgar in latin. The romans were a vulgar lot.

My problem with your business isn't the actual act involved, my problem is that it is "business". I'm never a fan of payin' for something that ought to be free. I understand all the arguments in favor of an "industry", so don't start spoutin' Tiffany.

I'm just saying that mixing money and sex, to me, is far more "vulgar" than any act you can POSSIBLY imagine... and believe me, I've imagined a few that wouldn't occur to you on your best day.

lol thats volga

Vulgar was "common" when everyone spoke Latin then it migrated to the language of the common folk as people moved away from Latin.

similair to the term vernacular today.

course you prolly knew that and are just a thread derailer
