There is a script out there that has a pop up appear asking if you wish to buy transfer, or no transfer. It is in the huge never ending thread, I mean comment about it. LittleMe Jewell was the one that mentioned it, might or might not be able to shed light. Point, though, is that you can sell both options (priced same or differently), so you can get both type of customers.
Personally, I always want Transfer - I have so much clothing that I am always giving away stuff that I have already worn.

Here is what I posted in another thread:
~~~~~~~~~~~
I don't remember if I ever gave a SLURL for one of the places that uses the Pay option and gives you a choice of getting your item Copy or Transfer, but here is one if I didn't:
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Iladil/47/230/71
I even had a place take care of the color choice as well using this option.
ok here's a few more:
E! Eclectic Designs: Nice little store, really nice array of...well...eclectic stuff.
And the scarves were so cute, lol I had to try one on then of course had to buy it!
I like demos!
Darkly Cute: hehe shopping in a sugar bowl :) Very cute! The glasses were nice, signs were small but I could see them ok
Rose Encrusted Fantasy: it took me a while to find you but I liked your shop. Landmark giver nicely placed in full view, and the products well displayed and easy to see
Kesskreations: I just couldn't resist the chalkline kitty poseball out front! So I was roadkill for my rez time :P Group joiner was plainly visible, nice giftcard vendor (and since jewelry is often a gift it makes a lot of sense) and demos of EVERYTHING! I had to try on a bracelet, almost jumped out of my skin when the demo butterfly attacked came up out of the floor haha. Very nice shop :)
Last and best on this part of my journey, Miles Beck! Just wow. Not only is your store really nice, great flow, etc but your product is amazing. I have never seen anything like it, of course I'm new and there might be more like it out there but it was something I had never seen. I will be definitely visiting you when I need a card for anyone! Everything was easy to find, the only thing I didn't find was business card info...do you make business cards?
and I have to say, out of the shops I have visited on this little quest, not ONE has slammed me with notecards, landmarks, or group invites, for which I say thank you, I hate that. Tell me about it, show me a sign, but don't make me have to decline it (which I do by default).
and I also want to say that this whole thread has made me get some stuff done I have been putting off *madly runs around the store with a feather duster*
still more to do but it's a priority now hehe
do you make business cards?
Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my shop, Ralektra! I appreciate your kind words. Although I haven't offered a service to make business cards, I have done a couple on special order. In each case, I had made an invitation for a business' grand opening, and was asked if I'd make a business card, too. Thanks for mentioning it -- I should make that service available.
I do wonder about being in my own store, while someone pops in. I usually say "Hi" ....offer assistance.....then start rearranging stuff, or plop a building block down and start building something....that way they don't think I'm "hovering." And I'm still there, if they want to chat, or need help. I think it would be worse, to run off the minute they land.
I find that people do not stay as long when I am there. It may be due to the fact that some of my poses are suggestive and people are shy about being seen by a stranger. So I say hi and ask if they have any questions. If they don't, I say I am going back to work in my workshop and ask them to yell if any questions occur to them.
I do have an Online Indicator in the main store so they know I am still available. That seems to work best for me.
Well here is what I ended up with:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2y1AGK12tI8
It is a video catalogue of my line so far.
I created the blogspot page in my siggy and a myspace too: http://www.myspace.com/talonfaire
Hey- you keep throwing stuff out there something will stick to the wall. :)
Amar, your youtube spot is GORGEOUS (LOVE the music!!)
I just dropped out of a photoediting software class I signed up for (and paid a lot of L for) in SL because I have no prior image editing experience and the class moves way to quickly for my little mind. I would have NO idea of how to put something like this together.
Guess I'm not meant to be a content creator in SL.
Ok finally got some time too fully look around, all stores listed here
Imnotgoing - First of i love the actual store it's so quaint, i love how its designed *grin*. The initial setup is good, the images load up pretty quick and the glasses are adorable, they are wonderfully done and such nice colours. By the way i love the Chii gestures, i just had too buy it. Huge Chobits fan *grin*
JoJo - Wow girl that's alot of furniture lol, Well first even with all the furniture it's pretty easy too move around and everything rezzes in very quick. Your designs and colours are beautiful.
Kesseret - Ok i love your store, very clean and chic. Items placed wonderfully, rezzes very quickly again, the jewelery is so cute. If i wore it i'd have bought loads lol.
Eclectic - Had a little look around. I love the floor by the way, very unique with the paint splashes lol. Very nice designs of jewellery and accesories. I liked the clothing patches very cool idea..
Marcel - Very nicely laid out, easy too move around. The lucky chairs always a good touch *grin* everything rezzes in very quickly. Ooooo i love the geisha designs on the folding screens, i think i might get one for my store *grin*
Miles - I had a little look around your store today, nicely set out. Rezzes in quite quick, i love the idea of greeting cards. It's definently not something i thought about for SL.
HoneyBear - When i have some freebies up i'll im you hun.
Amaranthim - Sounds a great idea, i'll be online hopefully about 1pm SL time. Maybe we can meet up and have a discussion inworld.
I have too agree with you there Denise, don't get me wrong it's a good idea to hang in your own store but from my own experiance i don't like it, been a few times when a store owner has followed me round too get me too buy something and i hate that. I try too stay away from places like that lol.
Czari - Have you tried following any of the tutorials on the web too do with Second Life and content creation. I'm the same really i learn things at a slowish pace. If you want a few links posted let us know and i'll post a few for you.
Anymore too add please let me know:)
My adverts I do in an old very easy program called MGI Photosuite- they have since been bought out by Roxio but I have not tried newer versions: http://goinside.com/99/2/mgips.html You can also find it on ebay for next to nothing. It is nowhere near as great as Photoshop or Gimp- which I use in the clothes, btw - but for quick and intuitive you cannot beat it.
Rhianna,
How about you actually encrust the rose itself with really small diamonds? Just the [inner] edge/outline of every pedal...very delicate diamonds.
Ooooo, I LOVE this idea!!!! And fits very well with your company name, Rhianna :)
Marcel - I thought you were leaving and selling Sampireun. What's up?
Yeah so was I...
The combined fact of not finding a buyer at the first all, and the fact my girlfriend thought I would regret quiting, made me decide to stay after all. So now I am busy creating new stuff, building a skypod complex to rent out, and enjoying it :D
@Rhianna: Thanks for your review, I am glad you liked the place and everything rezzed well. Due to my slow framerates in general (laptop with slow graphic card) I am often worried that my store is too laggy.
The folding screens are brand new by the way, just released them last night! Glad you like them and have fun with the one for your store ;)
By the way: The money chairs are even a better idea then lucky chairs! Not too expensive, and people use some hud device that shows where their letter shows up. They are good for some additional traffic and I see those people go into my shop as well.
I like it, it is not too fancy, nor too plain and I like how it works on my ads :)
Here are the logos I have used and currently use
First is my old RRD logo
next is the first logo after I redid my store brand name
and now... my current one
as you can see once I decided what I wanted it has pretty much remained, (I made sure the name was the main focus of the logo) (removed the eye and cat, because they really did not associate with my store, and the silhouette is pretty non associating
LOVE your current logo, Rha! Of course I liked the others too...but your new one says it all and is very sleek :)
Thanks Ralektra for the compliments, I remember when you came in :)
yeah the folks that were there tried out the games and the lucky chairs, then we all just started chatting :)
on the topic of meeting store owners, I like seeing store owners in their store, if they say hi, I will say hi back, but most of the time, they do not say anything and I just presume they are busy doing something (I tend to camera around a lot so I could be working on something no where near me LOL)
most of the time I am off in my little workshop, or the bar, or arranging things in the other stores (which I so need to stick little tp's in the main store to the kids and furniture stores)
I also invite folks to have a look around my land as well, wander around, explore, go fishing even, just do more than shop, have more fun while you are there!
I will try to visit some of the other stores today, not sure if I will make it but I will try.
Edited to add a thank you to Czari as well (not sure how much I will be around folks, so forgive me if I do not get a chance to see your store)
My alt has visited a couple more of the shops on here:
imnotgoing .....
That is a cute shop in an area that is very fitting for it, I would think a very good choice of location. I landed right in front of it which is always a bonus where themed areas/malls are concerned.
I would agree with earlier suggestions about having the glasses out on show (maybe a temp rezzer?). The items to the right I think need to be a little larger, really had to cam in to see and there is plenty of room there at present.
It looks like you are good at working with small prims and once a bigger selection of items for sale I would think you would do pretty well.
Marcel ......
Landed at your shop also, the front was very nice, I spent quite a few minutes looking outside before making my way in. The shop is nice and spacious and easy to get around. I did think however that the colours looked a bit bland, the overall look of the shop has very little colour and tropical looking furniture I personally prefer to have tropical colouring (/me has a large tropical beach home).
I did sit down on a couple of items, how about adding more poses?
One thing I will add generally here, with furniture etc and SL issues, a lot of people will only risk buying copy items. I sell all my items copy unless people request transfer for gifts, then will make them up specifically for that customer.
....maybe a temp rezzer...
I had considered an on-touch temp rezzer. I tested one and got a message saying the I was out of prims... Out of temp prims? Then I found that tons of people around are using looping temp rezzers so the sim is already at its temp prim limit pretty much 24/7. (>_<;)
Oh yes! I've taken a LOT of building classes over the 1 year+ I've been here plus gone through many of the tutorials. It's not that I can't build (I used to rent a small shop and have my items on SLex) - I phrased that wrongly - I have no experience with an image-processing program like PhotoShop and Gimp. As I said, I was taking a 10-week Gimp course that moved way too quickly for a rank novice like myself. (Most of the other students had at least some knowledge of PhotoShop and were just trying to find the adaptations for Gimp.
I mainly want to learn how to make my own textures and better logos, etc. I do not design clothes and have no interest in doing so, therefore those tutorials are not my cup of tea.
(Having a really bad week in general so kind of just "shutting down" for a bit to try to recoup my energy.)
Thanks for asking though :)
k...im doing some visiting and giving some very very quick feedback...
Amar...pics are way to small and i would just use one or two poses at most for each item...like front and back...that is all i need to buy it.
Rha...great stuff! but again..pics are too small for me...really couldnt see some of the great detail im sure is there. Id make your signs at least 3 times the size they are now...as odd as it sounds...teh things that catch people's eyes are the ones they will buy on the spot. Also, the item that you are selling should be the biggest thing on the prim...for instance...your Casual Pumps sign...pumps are small and at the bottom...i want to SEEE the pumps in detail....so id concentrate more on showing the detail and less on the words etc on the sign. In SL people make split decisions and if they have to look to hard they will pass up stuff....me included...LOL...Your dresses in the gowns area are stunning btw. You also have a lot of light colored clothing on white backgrounds and it is hard to see the contrast...
K ill visit more later...back to work...
Marcel, I'm glad you're sticking around and have a new perspective on it that allows you to have fun.
My question in here is this now: how many of you have optimized your parcels for the new search? That is very much an important step in marketing.
Czari - I did actually mean Photoshop or Gimp lol but ok:)
I need too take some building classes myself lol, i can do the basics but that's it.
JoJo - I'll definently come too the talk and i'd love too join the group but maybe a group that we could use IM's would be better, then we can all ask questions and discuss things a little easier:)
