hey Rha, I read your reviews as well :)

The adboards are big cause there isn't much there, you are very right about that haha

and yes, ever since the new viewer, I have had issues with transparencies near the floors or walls, I have already made a replacement for my gift box just making something new to put in it as well. it disappears lol

and are you saying bikers aren't classy? lol jk :) The biker stuff is on the first floor cause that is what sells so I put it in easy reach

Thank you for coming by and blogging about me so nicely !

Oh Amaranthim you were typing as I was posting lol, thank you for your good words as well! I definitely need to put a sign in better view that the formal wear is upstairs, I will take care of that. And I'm glad the gift you purchased is being worn well hehe, love the way that looks on my partner as well :P

I have been thinking about switching all my stuff to copy/mod

I started with the dollarbie wall (yes I forgot to do it before I set them as dollarbies oops)

all I can say is... OMG this will take me forever, so I think I will do a little at a time, then when I have them all changed in my inventory go around and update each one (and sadly have to update the ad textures too blech)

so it will be awhile

but it seems the general consensus is that folks want them copy/mod

If folks want to give a gift they can use the giftcard and save while doing so, since I sell them at 20% off the face value.

For me I hate copy/mod clothes Rha. I am pretty good with prim ajustment and i like to give outfits away when i get bored.

I really need to look into the script thatgives the people a choice of copy or trans

Oh oh and i put my hand up for a review too YAY!

ok off to fidn the link to that script in this thread and hunt it up before i finish these ad boards

I prefer copy mod - especially if its a designer I like lol.

I tend to give away the clothes that I found disappointing though so i prefer those to be transfer.

--------------------------

its too bad the permission system wasnt more flexible

Would be awesome if it could be copy/mod while you own it then you transfer it and all your copies are deleted, thus allowing for the best of both worlds.

Rha I spent some time wandering your store. I like the feel definately. I foud the games a tad distracting though. It took me a while to get to your items. Maybe moving them to another area and puttin out clothes up front??

I love that you had the cam thingy for sale!! I had been tryig to find it on SLX not remembering what it was called. Im so excited to have found it again.

I liked your shoes and the way they were set out. But could have have both shoes in the demo box?? I find it hard to picture the other?

Your hair display I found a little confusing, but i think if the ad boards were made bigger it wouls be easier?? and maybe centre them a little more they felt like somethign left over?

I really like your shapes. But i didnt realise what they were at first. Maybe putting them in an area of their own would help that?

I looove that you had a section called mix and match!!! Those are the kind of clothes I go for. So i can throw all different things on and I dont look the same as someone else who may have got the same thing. BTW? your Rha lil miss in plaid pink doent have a pay option??
I also like that you have what is included on the ad boards. This is important to me cos I cant see tht uing the pay options rather than buy

I adore your whispering stars tattsand want to buy them. Can i get them transfer instead though??

I like your dresses and love tht they come in long and short styles :)

Although cute the bears didnt really fit for me , but i know you do kids stuff elsewhere :)

Ooooh your description said soething about jammies??? I love jammies...but i didnt find any *sniffs*

Overall I like your store. Well designed, there was flow to it nd I wanted to explore all the sections. The only things really for me were the demos for the shoes and the hair.

Oh and please please make more nice full body tatts!!!! hard to find nice ones in SL

Sorry if my post is a little behind the times. This thread is on fire!

From: Denise Bonetto
Strange you should say this, I have always found that sales go down and people don't tend to stick around if I am in my shop. I know many feel uncomfortable if they think the owner is watching them and learnt to move off a distance when people came to the shop.

Like Czari and Denise, I've found this to be the case too. I like to say hi to people when they come into the shop, but have found most TP out pretty quickly if I am hanging about, especially if I say hi. Hard to say if they would have stayed longer otherwise, but my work platform is above my shop and the green triangles on my mini-map seem to wander around much longer than the visitors I am there to greet in person.

Thanks Cristalle! And I was just reading your compendium for how to optimize for search- I am going to have a seriously busy SL week next week I guess :) Thanks for putting that together- I see though it will take several readings just to understand some of the terminology fully.

Good find Cristalle!

Here is a link to the now closed (:() Linden Lifestyles "marketing 101" page. It is a little dated now, but, for anyone who hasn't read it, I think it has some good advice.

I visited Ralektra's and Kesseret's stores. Awesome Designs! I like being able to stand in the middle of the store...scan....and see everything....without moving. Ralektra....your gowns are lovely.....I will be back. Kesseret....your jewelry is lovely....and I will be wearing one set, soon. I could see where the two of you might want to have each others' items in each store....complimenting each other....and one stop shopping.....jewelry to match gown.

Both of you did an awesome job on your Display Boards. They are very clear...and easy to see.... and present your items beautifully. If I were a clothing or jewelry designer, I would just hand my products over to you.....and let you do the display boards....while I go back to designing. Everyone has their talents. And it's hard to specialize and learn every single detail you have to do....to move the store along....without getting bogged down in each aspect.

Looking forward to seeing the other stores.....and still catching up on the great ideas here.

Thank you, Cristalle, Nimue, and Amar for adding more great blogs for ideas. :) Also a huge thank you, Amar, for posting notes of the first meeting here.

Wow! So many wonderful ideas - I think I've spent most of my weekend reading this post!!

It's making me want to roll up my sleeves and start in on my own lil endeavor again!

Cheers to this whole thread!

I was in store in Apollo yesterday and noticed the boards had these gorgeous frames...am thinking it was a pretty touch that served to unify the boards- added a common theme.

my partner sent me a tp one night to a store (sorry don't remember where it was but I'm going to find it again) that was amazingly beautiful. Each item was presented as a portrait, and they looked so realistic. It made me think about the way I do my ads, and I even did a few in that style but I am not that well known (I forget who this designer was but he or she was obviously well known...about 10 shoppers in the store and they were shoppers, not campers)...so I can't really get away with presenting an outfit as a portrait with no other information on the box. He or she obviously can :) I'm going to find that store again and post where it is.

PS sorry Mickey, this post was in response to your kind words, thank you!

I've been eyeballing this thread for a few days now, and you have at least managed to kick-start me into updating the store blog. Posting the backlog of items that I have for sale was rather daunting (even though there aren't really *that* many), and I want to apologise to anyone following my Flickr stream for the heap of sale items that just flooded your contact lists :p

That said, I throw my little store upon the mercy of the esteemed shoppers within this thread:

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Jindalrae/32/17/445

Caveat: I don't have the powers to change the land description nor the landmark image right now. I know that would be a great bonus, but I'm afraid it's not a possibility ATM.

/me scuttles back to the blog and carries on updating, while keeping a baleful eye on his already-loaded SLX Magic Box that's just waiting for all those descriptions to be written on the site.

(I'm supposed to be on holiday, not working my butt off!)

Ralektra...this is just me.....but I never read the information on the sign....I only look at the gowns. Maybe others shop differently. I click to see the price...if it's ok...just one more click to buy.....I don't really care about permission info....maybe others do. Your gowns would look fantastic as framed artwork.

Same thing for the other stores, I visited....I didn't read the words on your signs....I just looked at your designs....and that's how I shop.

I agree with what others say on here - your designs look good and the prices are reasonable.

I think now the situation is that there are lots and lots of designers selling good stuff at reasonable prices and the market is getting more and more difficult to break into.
The biggest competitor for all of us who make and sell stuff is freebies! There are a lot of good free things around.

I visited 4 more today and now I think I am done hehe

skell dagger:
I took the tp from the slurl and fell thru the air quite a ways :P I flew back up and took a look around
the fireplaces are beautiful and VERY inexpensive and I bought the flame lights (who could go wrong for $5L?) Your location is a bit out of the way and most people might not have flown up looking for it, but your stuff is really nice, and I think you should raise your prices lol

surreal babi: I tp'd straight to the middle of the store, the store is soo beautiful! Everything laid out nicely, easy to see. I noticed you had gift vendors which to me is a plus. Your front window is beautiful with the logo on it, very nice!

nissa: your new sign looked great :)
I actually messaged her from the store saying I think there is a problem with your prices...everything is selling very cheaply, more than $300L less expensive than it says! but it wasn't a mistake she is getting ready to show us something new so I will def have to go back :)

marcel: absolutely loved the island theme! I could almost smell Kahluha pig! and you have a nice variety of animals swimming/walking/flying about :) Your products are well displayed, attractive and reasonably priced, nice store!

This thread moves too fast for me to keep up with, but since Skell was the most recent request for shop visits I popped over and had a look.

Your products look to be of a very impressive quality (especially for the price!), and your slurl worked fine for me. Your signboards are also very nice and I like that you offer info cards for your products.

I hope you don't mind, but I'm writing up a notecard to drop on you in world.
