From: Ralektra Breda ya I actually have 2 or 3 diff sets of sculpt maps, I mix and match hehe I don't like making shoes cause it takes me forever, but I do like to include a pair with an outfit now and then, and I like to make my own too I do tweak them a bit and personalize them, those boots actually have my initials on them in about 4 places haha I do the same thing, I purchase sculpt maps, but then add personal touches to them, be it shoes or what ever (mainly just shoes LOL) and of course the stuff from flying tribe just cuz I like her stuff my first show sculpt maps were from tenM (I think that was my first) and WOW I ended up using a lot of extra prims on those babies LOL but they look so gooood I have made some shoes without sculpts from start to finish, but I enjoy making clothes much more

Oh, i'm just going crazy with designing now This challenge has inspired me so that I've already got my new release for next week half done. here's the promo shot for one of the 6 colors in which it will be available: My 1st challenge work is up in my shop now, for sale. Also, got added to Free*style, and tomorrow will be putting out a note card there and a few other places about the 2 big ole bags of original (made by me) freebies (one for guys, one for girls) as well as new release notices Fashion-R-Us (will be my first notice) and any other groups I can find. And I have more designs on the back burner, just have to finish them, and get them together and photograph them and put them in the box and put them up! so, yay me!

that is pretty dani
I love that color blue
my next attempt will be something glittery but.. I am not sure how to create a glittery fabric
I might buy the textures (something I rarely do and have one done for furniture LOL)
but I would rather learn to make my own sparkley looking texture...
anywho I am outs for a bit, have fun everyone

Tips

Here are a few tips for your shop. First make a freebie box. Use a floating script above it that says FREEBIES Here!! Make sure to include the landmark so they can come back. Then greate a group so you can advertise your sales to members who join. Also in the floating script put the name of your group so people can join. In every item for sale include you LM. for 50L a week you can put up a classified add that people will see when they do a search. you ccan advertise sales here and goto www.slprofiles.comMake a profile and you an add your products there. also add your products on Slexchange website. I have also noticed that sales are kind of slow since the giant Gas boom in America Hang in there and good luck!

For those still unsure which blogging platform to choose, I now *heartily* recommend Wordpress (which I've been using anyway ) because they've just started giving users the most amazing extra stats on their blogs. You can read about it here: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2008/08/23/tabular-stats/

Don't anyone go to review my store this weekend.....I sold half of the resale section, last night.....and it's empty!
I had 2 different people come in and need a whole house full....so we went through each room setting, and I told them what to get....then said, if you buy this and this.....I'll throw in that. They were clicking so fast, I couldn't keep up.
I also promised to go over to their new homes and help them set it up. I don't mind offering this service....and offering that, seems to be the key to selling a ton of stuff at once. I had 2 other jobs this week, decorating homes, and this seems to be the way the business is headed.
Is there a service you can offer with your products....that the big guys don't? That will be a bonus. and assure that you sell several things at once?
Clothing designers....I would think that a trunk showing....where you meet several ladies at the store....then model your designs one right after the other, so they can see them on a body....you don't have to have a fancy fashion show and hire models.....keep it simple and very personal....
....even perhaps let them wear them (not sure how you would do this - like a hair demo)....then they might buy several outfits in one swoop. I'm pretty sure I would, if I got to see the gowns on a body......and a jewelry designer could join you.....and pull out the right jewelry for each gown......same with shoes.....they could get 3 or 4 outfits fully equipped all at once.

Here's another idea.....I have to use trinkets and accessories from other stores, to complete a room setting, perfectly....because I don't have the knowledge or time to create all that. So the last room setting I did....that oriental red lacquer group that I sent you a pic of...
.....I made a notecard that told them where to get each and every item.....for instance, the stained glass wall hanging, and the antique clock on the fireplace mantle came from Jojo's store.
So....that notecard is like a "personal shopper" to them.....they can go down the list, and have their room created in about an hour.....so they run to 4 stores, instead of 15, which would take 3 days. And some don't have the decorating skills to pull that off. They tell me this. They say "I just can't decorate a room like this....Help!"
Clothing designers could do the same thing.....set up a display with the dress plus the jewelry....the hair accessories....the hair....the shoes....the hose.....the handbag.....with instructions on how to complete the outfit....and save them some time.....plus, if they know they can get complete outfit instructions from you, they will return to your place. I don't mind shopping to decorate homes.....but I HATE shopping to decorate myself! I would kiss your feet for this service.

Am....I would be happy to help you with this....I could wear that dress of yours, that I love....and serve the wine and cheese at your trunk showing.....but you have to remind me to lay off the wine.

/me mops his brow. OK, never let me get that far behind on the Merchants Page again. I'm knackered! Just spent the better part of two hours updating it! I've added Michael (but I think I missed Danielle, as I couldn't find her post requesting reviews yet I saw a review - Danielle could you please let me know your SLurl and store name etc, if you want to be included on the 'review me!' section of the page?) I've also updated the links at the top of the page (resources, forum thread etc) so they're a LOT more readable, and I've added more resources and other bits to the page. http://docs.google.com/View?docid=dfz3dk33_0d2dvsbgxNow I need a cup of tea and half an hour resting my eyes away from the computer, then I'll log and finally get started on my unique item challenge. /me squints at the screen, then ambles downstairs to accost the kettle.

Hi Skel....I didnt really request a review but got one anyway So why not. Just remember to put something nice for every negative thing, I'm a sensitive girl I have a few stores right now. Main store is under construction but open..I'm in the process of redoing all the promo boards and such...so don't have much up there yet...but working on it! it's the sea monk slurl in my siggie. Then the good store is in Urban Shopper Mall...Slurl is in my webpage I think. And the 3rd is at Mikey's, also on my webpage, I think. www.dbdbw.blogspot.com Dani's!

Hate to do this to you after all the effort you've been putting in, but is there something wrong with the Merchants Page? It won't let me in now. Just keep getting "Not Found Error 404"! Please tell me it's not a "Mac thing". I've tried with Safari and Firefox, same thing each time Hopefully it's just a server glitch!

Was leaning towards Wordpress anyway and this just seals the deal /me puts beginning a blog on her list after attempting the Tuesday Challenge ~ ~ ~ Wow! I'm so excited about the freebie groups. After the first lil flurry of offering my futon as a freebie (actually my most "expensive" item - at 100L), decided to try another item and put out my Celtic Cross Bracelet, this time for 1L. Announced it on Fabulously Free and logged off to bring on my alt and make sure everything was set right. When I arrived, one person was in the shop and 5 more green dots hurried past as I strolled out. Lots more people picked those up and so far one purchase of the set (bracelet plus earrings). Took another class just now - watch for a ceiling fan coming to a neighborhood near you soon

What a fabulous idea to offer a special service. Shortly after I began teaching my "Personalizing Avatar" series, I noticed a couple others "similar" but after attending not to the depth of mine. One has been taught quite awhile but I never attended it until after I put mine together. In both cases, the instructor offered her services as a "Personal Consultant" - helping one to achieve the "look" they want. Another offered her services as a personal shopper for a fee of some percentage of the purchase price of the outfits/skins/shapes...whatever the customer purchased AT the places recommended by the consultant. Interesting new idea to think about. Thank you!!
