Advice on Sales!!

oh my you guys are busy when Im sleeping, its taking me 20mins to catch up on the thread. Lol, good way to start my morning though.

I have been working with a sculpty program that is really easy to use, once you get the hang of it. I have made several small items, but last nite i did this awesome chair, its awesome, lol cant wait to add the right components and mark it for sale.

Its finding the time though to create and follow thru, my rl is so hectic with well rl stuff, lol and work takes alot of time for me and the next few weeks i have to catch up on paperwork for my real life business ick there goes my weekend, lol.

and a big thank you for the goodies coming thru the group they are very much appreciated. Now if you could send chocolate....... lol

i give away a lot of free space. when my tier is met, i go around and just pay everyones rent on random weeks. i get IM's constantly, being thanked. i am clearly not in it the for $$.. but there was one tenant who never said thanks, boo, f off, nothing. nope. never even got a thank you for the free rent. but now that i know the pea ess why sea ayche oh, selfish, narcissitic personality of this person, and it all makes perfect sense in hindsight. eh. whatever.

lol, I use a program called tatara. Its made with sl in mind. Easy to use, you can even have a background pic to copy. Its fiddly until you click in with it. Its taken me a few weeks to make something that wasnt bumpy or uneven, if you have been to my store, the butterfly near the front door is my very first sculpty It cost me 4500 lindens though, but worth every penny i reckon

It is possible the person did not know anything was even paid

for some reason for me rental boxes never let me know when I am running out of time, or when someone else pays into them for me, or anything of the sort. Been like that for me for a long time.

No clue why I do not get the msgs when I rent
I get them as the owner of the box, saying so and so are about to expire, or so and so just rented, but nothing else.

When you send out your gifts in a gift box.....do you need to take off the sale price? or does it automatically transfer to the person....???

no, it's not possible that the person did not know. mostly because i did it once when she was there, but even more obvious was that i 'warned her' i would be doing it on occasion when she rented and we discussed the fact that #1 i owed this person one free week for the 4-week committment, and #2 that i was in fact Wren Palen and "oh, i didn't realize it was you" surprised conversation took place. remember that conversation?

plus when someone rents for 4 weeks and they somehow have 6-8 weeks before it's ever expired... well, that ought to be a pretty good indication for someone who expects everyone else to read between the lines. a skewed memory is part of the psychosis, me thinks.

To what everyone has been saying about thanking, i sounds like a great idea too thank everyone for there purchases, instead of thanking each indivial person could you not place a notecard in each box saying thank you for the purchase etc?

Regarding free mall space, i completely agree you should thank them and give feedback often. It shows how grateful you are too them for letting you have said space for free and 3Ring that is a very kind thing you are doing by giving out free weeks

There is one mall i am still with that holds events quite often and they have lucky chairs scattered around and i have given gifts and placed items on the lucky chairs.

I tried Rokuro and i could not figure out what it was doing lol, i by accident downloaded the deluxe version first before realizing i could not save and i found it so much easier too use, so when i have some spare cash i might just get it *smile*

Ooooh that sounds fun Mickey, maybe we could each even vote or even get the other SL users on here to vote by opening a pole. What do we all think?

I know now you are referring to me, because yes I do remember not knowing you were wren, although I do not recall you saying you would be adding time to my rent. I never paid attention to how long I had on the rental or how long it went, I never got any sales there, it was out of my mind. I never even noticed when things were returned.

It has been obvious to me for some time now that our "friendship" ended, if there really ever was one, I was unsure just how to take you sometimes. At least I am who people see, I am not nice to someone's face then a bitch behind their back, and if I have something to say to someone I will take it to them directly, and not make snide sneaky comments on the public forum.

so lets get back on topic. I just put out my freebie box, woohoo. I put in some nail gloves i have been working on, a Tattoo "aussie girls rock" and a Chilli stool, lol. I think i will change them out every few weeks as i make more things. Or make a freebie that is unique or special edition. OOoo i also put in my papa san chair i made, im so excited!!!! hehehe oh well back to designing again i think, but which one to do first.... lol. I think first i need to make a welcome desk to put all my things on, its looking a bit cluttered with all the landmarks etc i think i shall work on that

and regarding rokuro.... my sculpty images are always skewed/distorted. they have jagged edges and spikey prongs.... i even uploaded the linden apple and it came out that way. maybe i don't know how to use it. i recently saw a sculpty wheelbarrow, and it was then that i knew sculpties have gone so far beyond my capabilities, that i simply gave up. but i will buy what you make if the sculpty fits into my needs, so keep on creating, and advertising about it. i hardly ever see any ads about sculpties....

mmm mine are like that until the texture downloads for me and then it gets it shape, sometimes it takes a while and i find clicking on it helps it along. The only thing that annoys me with sculpties is that if a sim is full of them I lag alot as the texture downloading does me in, too complex. But with saying that, omg you all have to go and check out sculpty island, the animals they have scripted and sculpted, omg im in awe, the textures are out of this world Timmi Allen, Sculptie Island, Sculptie Animals (254, 254, 22) i dont know the slurl or how to make one sorry
