Ok, you got me, it's about 75% teleport failure. Part of those can very well be attributed to the sim I'm trying to teleport to being down. But I don't think it's the DSL, as the stealth crashes and teleport failures are a recent ; past few weeks, development. Oh make note that your mini-map turns red when you have stealth crashed. I can deal with it because I love to set in my skybox and build. None the less I would like to come and go as I please.
Of the 3 items I have bought in SL all three went poof. I decided I didn't want to take the chance again and just quit buying anything. So yes, 100%
I buy lindens with that little blue dot. I assume I'm buying them from the lindens. And I really don't see the point of going premium, I mean how much land would I need to have 500pims? And what would it cost?
If my CC isn't good enough for SL age verification I wont so much as be leaving SL as being forced out. I refused to give them my SS or DL numbers. In 7 years on line I have never, NEVER had to give out this infoe, and do not intend to start. With out age verification I would be limited to pg sims. Both my home sim and favorite hangouts are M. So I would be thrown out of my home and bared from my favorite spots.

So I would be thrown out of my home and bared from my favorite spots. if you're getting 75% TP failure that is far worse than anyone I know. When I stealth crash nothing goes red, I can carry on for ages before I realise, only way to tell is that I can't interact with others or move. I can build for 30 minutes after crashing before I realise. I'm fairly sure that most of my stealth crashes are ISP related. The fact that it's a recent development doesn't stop it being the ISP, could be a minor fault has developed somewhere. when you buy L$ on the Lindex you are not buying from LL, they simply act as brokers and you buy from other players. There's loads of threads that set it out in more detail. Without age verification you will not be limited to pg sims. You will just be banned from parcels that are set as having restricted content. If you choose not to go down that route, and I certainly haven't decided whether I will verify, that is your choice.

From: Effulgent Brown why dont we have a no bling day- or no attachment day to see if the grid acts different i dunno make it a no physics day and the grid will run perfectly (seriously, havok 1 is one of the main reasons for sim crashes and LL knows it, but don´t do anthing, or at least don´t tell us about it) i think they have different proritys than most residents :-/ i love windlight for example, but i would have done many other things before (havok 4.x, new avatars, bone animations for prims, better sim border crossings!!!....) i have the feeling that they have a realy big problem with the software and that they can´t fix it in the near future... i am beginning to loose interest too, but i wish you LL guys good luck with fixing it, because sometimes i really enjoy sl (when it works)

"stealth crash nothing goes red" I have my mini-map open all the time. It takes on a red cast when I have stealth crashed. Just an observation.

But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

From: bilbo99 Emu My RL job I've seen dozens of people leave, dissillusioned, depressed, dejected but me? I gotta keep going to see what happens next!!
It's said that giving up is easy .. generally speaking .. it's the weakest option in a lot of cases. Give up here and you'll never know just how good (or bad, OK!) it *could* get!
Couldn't have said that better...If all you are into in SL is TPing around checking out things, driving, riding, pose balls, tats, combat areas, dancing, all of that...MAYBE it drags for you... For me, new to design and scripting, I follow the "It is what we make of it" ideal and keep coming back to see how things are shaping up...There are some VERY well done creations and as far as assistance with tips and tricks around creating, building, and scripting goes, I can find a far less willing and patronizing group than the "techies" I have had the pleasure of learning from on the forums here...I love it (From the standpoint of having a free build zone in a place that allows me to challenge the bounds of what's possible)...I may not spend alot of time cruising SL clubs, sex shops, art galleries, and the "life" part of second life, I spend HOURS on my own lot (Between jaunts to find something I need for a build) dinkin with prims and script scraps...I get enough satisfaction and amusement just doing that...Residents I happen to meet in the process is a bonus, but, I am content whether they stop to chat or not...One day, when I get past my dabbling days of developing my skills with the tools and ambition to create and mod stuff, I will get out and check out the scenery more... Good luck in your RL endeavors, I hope you find what you seek... For the rest of us, See you In_World! Quik

Yah, I'd say leave

From: Manstan Beaumont I'm seriously considering it. I have only been on Sl for 4 months. But in that 4 months Sl has been in a screaming nose dive. Things have gotten steadily worse with no sine of being fixed. One of the sims I used to hang out at a lot, I now get daily; some times 2 or 3 times a day, notices that the sim is back up. My home sim has developed glitches, and lag that it never had before. I have given up on buying anything because I just can't rez and keep any of it. I can't seam to teleport without some glitch or another. There is a 50/50 chance that when I log in I will immediately stealth crash. When crossing a sim there is a very good chance I will lose one if not all of my attachments. Being a "free" member I am not entitled to any support; free, right it's costing be $16 a month to be a "free" member. And now to add insult to injury they want me to verify my age with info I don't give on the internet. If my CC isn't good enough for age verification, then F... Sl and LL I'm gone.
I'm just sick of no fixes; well except for voice. And the Lindens screwing us around trying to cover their own arse. If your car is skipping, backfiring and not wanting to start, waxing it wont make it run better. You got it buddy. I bought a faudulent object once that drained my account (not much in there, thank God) and Linden Labs didn't care. SL exists to get money out of somebody, somehow. I thought the new Greenies Sim was adorable...then I found the magic Greenies Orb..tah dah!...It took me to a sim where I could purchase a Greenie avatar for $L900.00...big whoop! Yes, I have hung out and listened to real live bad folk singers I could hear in my real life town square, (OK, maybe small towns don't afford such RL opportunities) And I have had cyber sex with invisible men who probably look like John Wayne Gacy in RL, what a thrill, but over all, I'd have to say SL is vastly over rated, and basically a waste of time for anyone who truly values their life. Yup, get out now before you waste any more time. IT DOESN'T GET BETTER. There is no secret. No magic orb, no better sim.

I was checking it out...thought there had to be something to it...but, nope, haven't found anything here besides casual cyber relationships, some retail therapy, and the chance to play pretend for a few hours...but, perhaps you have found something else? And what would that be, pray tell?

From: Abby Bloxome What have you done in Second Life beside waste time? What have I done in Second Life – an essay by the person playing the part of Isablan Neva. What I’ve done in Second Life is explored the future, danced for hours in shoes I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing in RL, been amazed at the creativity of my fellow human beings, been dismayed at the crassness of my fellow human beings, learned that I have a talent for landscaping, learned that I have a talent for design, learned that Photoshop has a really steep learning curve, laughed, cried, been annoyed, been delighted, been awestruck, meet some wonderful people, met some a**holes, met some people who’s talent and imagination took my breath away, started a public garden, started a business, watched my business thrive and be able to buy an island sim, built a newer, bigger garden, wasted vast amounts of time on the forums, mentored a lot of newbies, donated money to money trees, missed out on a ton of prime-time television, discovered that in a virtual world where I can be anyone or anything that I’d rather be myself, learned to make poses and animations, created an info-hub were 500 some-odd people are making their home in SL, met some more great people, and felt privileged that there was this thing called Second Life - even when it worked poorly – that allowed me to experience all of the above instead of sitting in front of a television while my soul slowly slid away in an avalanche of ads for natural male enhancement.

And what would that be, pray tell? You find what you look for. There is a LOT more to it than that, starting with the ability to meet and talk to interesting people from around the world, both in organized discussion groups on topics I'm interested in, and in informal encounters. It includes creating things, having social time, and yes, some retail therapy and playtime. It goes far beyond that, but it's not for everyone. If you don't find it rewarding and you've given it fair chance, that's fine. But why do you feel a need to come to a forum for people who do enjoy it and run it down?

There are many people in SL I am so very glad to have met. Then there are those few "others" I am thrilled to have never crossed their path, but only seen their names here one time before they leave.

From: Abby Bloxome What have you done in Second Life beside waste time? Oh, the same things I do to 'waste' time in Real Life: Creative artistic expression, teaching, hanging with friends, making things other people like playing with, and arguing with time wasters in moments when I feel snarky... the usual. It's only a waste of time if you get no satisfaction from it.
