They're frighteningly bouncy...like, you know how all guys wince a little when they see someone else get kicked in the crotch? I have a similar reaction to the SL jiggly boobs.

They would probably hit someone in the chin and knock them out. New weapon...

This hiding the pole thing... is that before or after the whipping....?

/me thinks that comment might need its mouth washed out. That is if I read it right and my wicked mind didn't just twist it.

Just in case you didn't spot my post yesterday, Rioko, please let me know if there's anything I can do to help you out while you are here in town. **hugs**

You are in Boston?:D I'm over in Chelsea right now./me waves to you

On a different note:

I decided to sell my land and get out of the rental business. I may have 60 something plus tenants looking for new apartments soon. If you are a landlord, please drop me a LM so I can offer your services to my tenants in a notecard I am going to send out later. August 14th will be my last day before I sell it.:)

Can someone please update me on the status of captions/no captions, etc on the calendar? I noticed a whiff of something nasty a page back and just can't handle sorting through 20 pages to figure out who said what, when.

Re: Deadlines: PHOTO DEADLINES: August 15 to oryxtempel@yahoo.com. I was thinking that upon receipt of all months, I would send a copy of the appropriate month to the appropriate guy (e.g. Trout will be sent August 2009.) Guys can say whatever they want, as long as it's roughly PG. CAPTION DEADLINES will be August 22, whereupon each guy will have sent me his caption. I'm not going to do any editing of content; that would be super uncool. All I'm doing is typing them in as a new layer to the appropriate photo. MY DEADLINE will be August 29. Which is good because I'm flying to Indiana on August 29. On August 29, I'll put up a prim calendar in the Hangout. I'll also give a full-perms edition to Maureen, who can figure out sales, charities, etc.

Suggestions were raised to make a PDF version, so that people can make these shots their computer desktop wallpapers if desired? Thoughts?

Basically, let's just keep all the hullaballoo and fuss to a minimum. Gents, if you want a particular month, speak up to either me or Maureen. Otherwise, if you just want to write a caption, let us know and we'll draw names/months out of a hat.

Can't we all just get along? :p

O

Evidently not *sighs*

I'm really disappointed that something as innocuous as this is getting ugly.

I think I'm going to respectfully vacate the month of April. A dark cloud is beginning to form on this little diversion, eerily reminiscent of the beginnings of the Hangout Project. I'd rather stay clear of it.

Yes, if I remember correctly, there were bumps along the way in the beginning of the Hangout project, but it all worked out and is a fabulous place now.

Do we honestly expect a group of people to not have some different ideas about how things are done? If we expect those differences, is it not okay to speak about them? Difference of opinion is not necessarily the same as "not getting along", except when people cannot handle someone else thinking differently than them.

If we are truly expecting people to never voice any dissent then these forums are going to become quite dull indeed. There just seems to me to be too much over-reacting here lately - too many people taking things personal that should not be taken personal.

I am disappointed also, as this should have been a 'discussion'.

/me looks at the thread in bewilderment. Did I miss something? I didn't see anything particularly ugly in this thread. If bad things are being said inworld ... or real world ... well... maybe they'll stay there.

Anyway, if my posting re:calendar commentaries offended or scared anyone, I'm sorry. I do tend to be a little over-organized and spout a lot of ideas/proposals ... but am always comfortable with them being ignored!

The calendar project seems like a silly fun thing, in keeping with the spirit of this thread, and to my eyes most of the chat about it has been in that vein. Lil's suggestions also seemed to me to be an effort to keep things lighthearted. *hugs* to all!

Well for my part in this little disagreement - I have apologized- twice in fact, and that's enough.

I have also mentioned where I erred was in flying off the handle - NOT - in my opinion, since it is just that - my opinion, and as such is neither right or wrong. To reiterate, in case it got lost - was that I see no reason why it would matter who wrote up whom.

And so if we can put my admitted faux pas behind us- discussion, if necessary is viable.

So then- Are there to be blurbs?

Who will write them?

And

Does it matter to anyone really who writes up whom?

And lastly - is there to be a collage page?

There's no need for anything to get ugly. Littleme was entirely within her rights expressing her opinion and I respect what she said. Why can't I express mine? The answer is I can, and it isn't meant to be mean-spirited or a slight or anything like that. It's just my opinion. We can discuss it until the cows come home, but it isn't going to change.

My opinion is that I don't want to be involved if I'm not going to be allowed to do or say what I please within the obvious guidlines of the project. Every time I get involved in a forum project, it starts off with great ideas, then one or two people come in and demand that everyone do it their way, then people get butthurt, then there's drama. Don't even get me started on the Hangout.

I don't want to do it anymore. I especially will not give up my creative license when it comes to writing. I'm painfully aware that I contribute nothing of value to Second Life or the forums. I can't build, design clothes, script, landscape, or anything else. All I can do is write something nice every so often. If I let people step in and tell me who I'm writing about, what I'm writing and how to do it, then the only value I have to the forums here has been taken away from me and it's not fair to expect me to give that up. It's all I have.

That's my opinion. I'm sticking to it. It may not agree with others' opinions, and that's fine. I respect them for their opinions, and I wouldn't take those away from them. I'm truly sorry if my withdrawal from the calendar project has hurt anyone's feelings. It's a great project. I'll buy one, and probably make an additional donation to whatever charity we choose to support with it.

Now - go make with the funny! No more drama.

I don't care which guy writes about me personally.

/me likes all of them ;)
/me trusts them all to write nice things ;)
(but, I really would love Trout to write it most of all, sorry, had to say it)

Oh Brenda please dont vacate.
Its all good ppl are just discussing.

Mac love the Care Bear stare!

So wow I just had a crazy storm roll through RI and while I was clearing things off the deck and going in the house lightning struck the pool area. I never screamed so loud and kept running in the house as fast as a jack-O-lope.
I am not a screamer either, winks.

I just don't get what the big deal is about Trout or anyone wishing to write about a specific model, or what he would write. I doubt any of the guys would write something purposely hurtful or inappropriate.

LM is right. We are getting awfully thinskinned as a group.

I think it is a cute idea if we can get people to volunteer to do them. If we can only get a few guys (and if they do not mind), then a sort of combo of some of the ideas would be if they could each write a sentence or two for each pic and we simply print all blurbs. We should only be talking one or two sentences per picture, per guy, so not a lot of writing really. It would be kind of like the various blurbs from different folks that you see on the back of a book. If the guys don't want to write that much or that is too much writing to put on the calendar pages, then go back to the original idea of guys choosing the months -- and then solicit for volunteers for any months not yet requested.

I do push for the blurb to be about the picture and not *just* the avatar(s) involved.

This one might need to be more Oryx's call cuz I don't know what kind of work it takes to put this together. Also, someone had mentioned a white background, but that won't work real well for those of us wearing white. Is it easy enough to edit and cut out the picture if the background is not white but is all one solid color that is not the same as anything in the primary subject?

Oh, I hear you. Both my parents act like they can do anything no matter how sick they are. My dad got a hernia operation about a month ago.. he was trying to take his dogs to the field and train them the next day.

I am glad to hear she is doing well. :)

And I remember when we sold our quarter sim. It was a hard decision to make but not having the tier fees and the stress of running a place was reward for it. RL never logs off... well, it can but we can't just reboot.
