So glad to hear your mom is doing better, Rioko. Give her our best. She's lucky she has you to take care of her.

Speaking of parents, has anyone heard from Joseph? Is his dad still on the mend?

Gah! 3ring. You posted at the same time I was posting positive thoughts about Rioko.

I'm so sorry about the kitty. How awful! You're doing the best you can for her, though. It's tough, but sometimes what's best for them is what hurts us the most.

You know, though Lil, there's about 20 women involved in the Calendar. Well, 19 now, unless we can persuade Brenda to come back. Apparently 3 or 4 of those women have have a vision about what the rest of us should do. You floated your ideas a week or more ago, there didn't seem to be much support, and we all went our merry ways...planning our particular page. Then, I guess, the organizer in you needed to bring it up again. I thought the phrase "go back to..." in your post was a bit unfortunate since your vision had never been adopted, but meh. .....
It was never *my* vision. At the beginning of July, someone else suggested that the guys do write-ups. Then a week later, when guys started requesting months, someone stated that 'maybe the guys should not get to pick, but should be randomly assigned a month'.

My mistake was is assuming that those suggestions had been originally adopted and were then starting to be deviated from (hence the comment about "going back to xxxxx";). Combine that with a couple of other ladies making similar comments to me and I decided to post my opinions.

The only thing that I distinctly remember being pretty much agreed to that would be totally up to the women such that they could each do their own thing was in regards to what they wore -- i.e. no common theme of lingerie or bathing suits, etc... Since Oryx will be putting the pages together with the blurbs, I don't see how any of us really have control over our final page layout.

I have no problem going along with the majority, though even that won't really be the case because it is, and has been, mostly less than half the women discussing any of this.

Sorry to hear the bad news. I just lost a female cat that adopted us some 14 years ago. She had become blind in one eye and developed ulcers in her mouth and couldn't eat. She was a good cat and we all miss her. I know it isn't the same but I feel your pain.

Oh, 3ring I'm so sorry about the kitty... If it's any consolation, if you had not rescued him, he may have infected many other cats, and suffered a great deal.

OK...my 2 cents worth (that's about..3.7 lindens, I think :p):

The calendar, blurb or blurb-less is fine by me. I'd prefer blurbs, but really, either is fine.

So, as a reminder, here's what Oryx posted (edited a tad for brevity)

**************************

Yes, I think we should have a PDF version.

If we are going with the blurb version, anyone who wants to write a blurb, either generally or specifically about one of the calendar girls, would you please PM me or Oryx? We will collect the names, see how many we have, and get in touch with you.

If we don't get very many takers, then we'll sort that out, too.

As far as the commentaries are concerned, I imagined they'd be nice/funny ones, commenting on how cute/cool/sweet/sexy/whatever the pic of that month's pin up girl is (i.e., more about the pic). If a bf/gf writes up the commentary, fine by me. If a stranger pens it, fine by me, as long as it is complimentary. :)

Thanks Mo. The ONLY stipulation for any pics is a specific size of 512 x 512, and a file type of JPG, TGA, XCF, PSD, etc. No BMP please as it sucks ass. I'm voting no on the collage. Where would it go?

Fifty words max on the captions. We don't want the font to be too tiny. :)

Oh 3.... I am so dreadfully sorry - I can't tell you. At least he had the brief time he did and got to know someone so special that gave him comfort. Don't feel guilty - your did the right thing. You eased his time and made his end one of respect.

Hugs- I know how everything else must seem pretty damn stupid by comparison right now - some people may say it's "just" a cat- but pet lovers know- there is no such thing as "just a".

Awwe, that sucks. Sorry to hear about the kitty. It's better to ease him out of the world than let him suffer. You did the right thing.

OK - I have waded through the last umpteen pages because a couple of the women have called my attention to the discussion about the blurbs. I volunteered a long time ago to coordinate those, so I suppose I could now get in the act by explaining the reasons behind the factors that have apparently led to a controversy. HOWEVER, having read the whole kerfuffle, I'ain't touching it with a ten-foot Pole, Arab or Greenlander.

INSTEAD, I am, for no money down, gonna make an offer:

I will personally take care of all the captions in this way: I will go through this whole 25000 message thread and pick a line or two from a post by each woman pictured in the calendar and HER OWN WORDS will be the caption for her picture. Nobody writes anything, it has already been written.

ANY male who can spot some particularly appropriate remark a lady has made that can be used as her caption is invited to submit it to me.

Ann's is already chosen: "My ass speaks for itself". (Thank you, Ann, this is where I got the idea.)

You may count on others in this vein. Double entendre will be rampant.

If you demand some control over my sense of humor or the dignity of those pictured, I will gladly submit my choices for peer review by any two males whose taste in such matters is indisputable. If you can find 'em.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.
