kaimi, I watched some of the Tour yesterday..you may convert us all. But the next legs are televised at 3:30 am... :-(
Yeah, I'm in that time zone too. We record it and then watch it when we get up, fast forwarding through the many long commercials.

OMG! a broken collar bone? and worse, out of the race? :( i feel bad for his spirit. he must be heartbroken to not at least be able to finish.

He definitely came to the Tour with hopes of winning but had probably already lost too much time for that before this happened. Broken collar bones are the most common injury for pro cyclists. Tyler Hamilton once beat Lance Armstrong on a Tour de France stage while riding with a cracked collar bone! A couple of years later he was banned for two years for doping but I still think he is pretty cool.

sounds like my busy weekend kept me from seeing the most action packed legs of the racing so far.
The next two stages, tomorrow and Wednesday, in the high Alps, will likely be the most exciting of the Tour.

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=z6Ptup0lIYM&feature=related I love this sound. Eric Clapton did alright for himself too.

Yeah when I was growing up we had no air conditioning in our house. That’s one of the joys I remember of family vacations. Us all sitting around the wall unit ac at the motel…ooooh….ahhhh
Repair man should be here sometime this morning :)
I grew up in this house. We're lucky the ocean breeze keeps us nice and cool.

I really like the Tusk album :)
Rumors is my favorite.

From: DaQbet Kish
Stevie Ray Vaughn played at my college and I invited my mom, brother and sister to the show. Back then it wasn’t uncommon for people to fire up a doob and just start passing it down the rows for anyone to take a hit. Several times I had to politely wave off the offer from the people around me but still the smell of pot permeated the auditorium and I was sincerely concerned about my mom and her reaction. After the show as we stood in the lobby I start to apologize to my mom for what I assumed was an annoyance to her. She looks at me with blushed cheeks and red eyes and exclaims…”My my I’m starved lets eat!” We all could barely stand for laughing so hard. And she thank god didn’t get it.
Lol.

Amara for us in Louisiana and Florida this would work better. Pumping ice water through the copper tubing to add some cooling.

"CX" (cooling it)

Makes me think of a homemade Still or some DIY-Liquid-Cooled PC Project. :)

So I'm looking at this carefully, and I almost have it figured out, but I need to look into the cooler to be sure. You put the mash in the cooler and heat it to just before boiling to evaporate the alcohol off. It runs through the condenser tubes and drips through a filter of some sort into a jar that has to be hidden somewhere, right? Louisiana bathtub gin?

Edit: Dang, Tod beat me to it.

John Mayall and Peter Green. Two of the leading exponents of the blues the world has ever known.

Peter Green was the founder of Fleetwood Mac when they were a seriously good blues outfit and not the West Coast Cocaine Snorting and Divorce Champions singing about Welsh witches, big love and little lies.

love that!

Very witty, however I do still love Fleetwood Mac for what they are know to be currently. :)

Kaimi thanks for these updates on the race if I have not said so before I am following your updates!
Nice flowers!

oh swamp coolers I have not heard that term in a while.

In FL the elders say they would rub down the screens with mineral oil and have a fan blow on it? Dontknow if that works or why but I may try it to see one day.

I think between Morgaine, Sassy and I, that whole Bot thread has been thrown off kilter. My work there is done. :p

love Clapton. now remember who Green is. i can't say which is better because i don't recall sitting down to a Green solo and absorbing the magic. for me, neither can even touch Stevie Ray Vaughn. he is king of that realm, imo.

Everything changed for me, after hearing Stevie for the first time. I had tickets for a gig in London that he was due to play, but then the accident happened.

bloody helicopters

Nah- I went long enough to find the Phil reference and offer you unrequested, unhelpful advice on having your hands full ;)
