well.... eh... 'spanking' might have put me at the dark end of a 9mm held by an angry deputy.

but yeah... there was definitely a mental smackdown.

to quote my parents:
Even if it means I got to get a stepladder you will never be too big for me to spank.

I chuckled reading this MortVent, since I have three brothers, all of whom are well over 6 ft tall; the tallest is 6' 7". I can still see my mom, who was at least 12 inches shorter, standing there looking up at my tallest brother, reading him the riot act...and my brother looking suitably chastened.

She had "the mom look"...I think it's doled out in the delivery room.

Not yet, Kaimi, although someone will probably have videos up on YouTube within a few hours. Jay-Z was the headline act tonight, and he played a long set. I don't know that all of it will be put up on the BBC site.

Thanks Maureen. Kind of hard to tell with the poor sound quality but it looks like it was pretty good. Obviously a lot of fun to be there.

/me chuckles. Believe me, he got a lot better, but that was a masterful entrance, given how much Noel Gallagher had bitched about him being there ;)

ye Gods...I can't believe this thread is still alive. If I had the willpower I would go away & come back to the forums next year just to see if it's still here :D

Hey Xio.. as long as this has been going time wise I have little doubt of it having it's own anniversary. :)

Wooooo! Got my OpenSim connected with the wife's PC, y'all.
It is like being in SL for the first time again (no skins to buy, etc). It is like being on the frontier of something big, even though it is only running on my PC right now I hope to connect my sim to the grid at OpenSim someday.

Here are me and the wifey about 20 mins after I finally got her in. My firewall was blocking her access.. finally got it beat. :D

Here she asked me to "Take me to your Leader"

It is odd looking at a whole private sim island and knowing it is all ours, it is private and it is FREE! lol

For anyone interested in this, check out this link if you are technically inclined for opensim:

http://opensimuser.wordpress.com/2008/06/15/opensim-install-and-configuration-tutorial/

That has great instructions on getting it installed and up and running by SL pioneer Maxx Monde.

Ok.. back to terraforming the sim.

GJ Mac, I tried OpenSim for a while, then I got carted off to the "loony bin" & when I got back I was bored with it.

You know, when I type, sometimes I see just how crazy I sound when I talk out loud.

Mac - That sounds so cool. I might have to go play with my own sim.

Right after I saw your pic there, I ran across this - timing was just so good.

OK, you all, just skip past this if you don't want to read RL stuff.

At work, there is an older lady (57) who smokes 2 packs of cigs/day.... she had a heart ablation 10 DAYS AGO and is back at work. She doesn't NEED to be at work; she just is because she goes crazy sitting at home, so she says. Anyway, today I came upon her sitting on the floor (!) and asking me for a wet rag because she was too hot. I called a Code Blue which means to call an ambulance and the First Responders... while we were waiting for the ambulance, Nancy's eyes roll up into her head, she vomits out her false teeth, and she goes into a stroke/seizure thingy. I was terrified and for the first real time in my life I realized MORTALITY, and, for some strange reason, I wanted to grab the damned thing by the throat and shake it, and force it away. And so now I'm drunk and venting and traumatized. Thanks all for listening.

Oh dear, you poor baby! How awful for you. But thank goodness you were there and kept your head and got the paramedics! You might have saved her life!

I'm feeling tired a bit early for a Sat - the new pc excitement must have been too much for me. Off to bed I go.

Sweet dreams to all when you finally turn in. See everyone tomorrow.
