I was thinking it was the C word- that I find offensive. The P word really may have been cat related- we do seem to be up to our arm pits in felines :)

Pretty much every Bond movie has one female character with a suggestive name. In "Moonraker" it was Dr. Holly Goodhead.

Ah, the days of being a sex object against your will

i imagine you mean to include Goldmember. that's a pretty crude movie as far as references go.
I think she was reffering to the character in Goldfinger.

well, the name was in reference to either a 'female body part or a cat'. i think that is a lude, crude and downright rude word!

Wow, 'prude' rhymes with all that ! :D
/me says, gently joshing

My first kitten was named offensively, then. Didn't seem to trouble anyone though.

Innuendo in Bond character names is obligatory. Witness this little exchange in "Diamonds are Forever", for example. A young lady by the name of Plenty O'Toole is inevitably seduced by Bond.

Plenty O'Toole: Hi, I'm Plenty
Bond: But of course you are
Plenty O'Toole: Plenty O'Toole
Bond: Named after your father, perhaps?

In the UK, "pussy" has as much shock factor as "willy", ie none whatsoever.

I imagine the movie, Free Willy, caused some sort of a stir...

And yet, nobody complained about that at the time, did they? What did her name refer to, if not the obvious?

I mean, was the name of the film "X'd" out in the papers?

I'm not "young" but I'm also not old enough to know that.

/me wonders...
Considering that she was the head of a gang of gorgeous lesbians (at least in the book) it was a highly suggestive name. I don't remember any fuss about it back in 1963 or whenever it was. A few snickers though.

My Father's Day ritual has been the same since 2004. I drive all the way out towards the end of Long Island to where Dad is buried, change out the American , Navy and FDNY flags on the grave. I bring a six pack of his favorite beer, and leave one bottle. I sit there for a while, cry a bit and drink another. Then I go to the beach.

When I was living in England back in the 60's it was the most common way of referring to one's pet cat.
(Can I say "cat"?)
