I can't get over the ridiculous lengths women sometimes go to mention their husbands in those situations. "What floor ma'am?" "Five -- but my husband thinks I should park on an even number." Jeez, ladies. Not every sentence is a pick up line. In fact, none of mine are. Must be force of habit, but I find it -- icky. |

From: Soji Slade I was awakened at 6:30 am this morning by a very loud crashing sound. My car died also today. Murdered. Hit and run. See below.  Might be hard to see in this picture below, but the small dark pick-up truck that slammed into my car did so head on. As can be seen, barely, if you look at the marks on the ground. The marks left in the sand. Two lines going into car. One line curving away. That curving away is when he backed up and speed away at a high rate of speed.  My car resting, roughly an hour, two hours later, as seen below. Two things to note. One: The force of the crash was such that my car was slammed backwards into the sewer ledge. The rear wheel hubcap is bent (only the fact the car is resting against the curb is really visible in this picture). And two, that the windshield blades are down. I put them up because I had heard that there was going to be snow fall, as I normally do. The force of the crash caused the blades to fall.  Rental car, picture taken 5 hours after my car was hit.  If nothing else, I wanted to show how the snow blanketed the area quickly this morning. I do not normally have a shot taken before the snow even starts. omg, Soji! I am so glad you are OK. But wow...what a number that creep of a driver did on your car.  eta -- Read ahead: Glad your insurance is taking care of you. *hugs* |

I had a co-worker call mid-week and hire me to do some contract work for a client of his, so I've been working all day and then working off and on in the evenings on the secondary gig. It will be a nice $$ bonus when complete, but for now it is just a lot of "trying to get stuff done as fast as possible" thing.

Yeah, so, um...sorry I missed breakfast. Little excitement around here. Last night after the snowstorm had subsided, a family member spun out - on a main road. Driver is OK; car not so much. So today was wait for the tow truck to take the car to the body shop. So...dinner?  |
