I soooo don't wanna know what the "BM thread" was...
LOL - yeah my mind keeps trying to put that meaning on it too.

But, in this case, the BM means Blue Mars.

:D

So... I got my mother a bag for Christmas. It was this really nice leather postino bag, and I got it for her because she is always borrowing mine. The one I got for her is much nicer than mine of course.

Not the exact bag, but very like. It's about 8 inches across.

This morning she asked me if I'd mind if she exchanged it for something else. I didn't at all. I had a great time picking it out, but of course I couldn't know whether she'd really like it.

I thought of it as a sort of glorified gift certificate.

WELL...

She brought that back, along with other things she'd bought for Six that either didn't fit or didn't please, and after all the returns were processed, she went to look for a bag that she *really* liked.

In the end she bought the SAME bag that I had given her, but now it was on sale, so she bought it for $20 less than I paid!

There is a moral in there somewhere I'm sure.

What's nice about it is that I was glad to find it and get it for her, I was glad that she was able to tell me she wanted to change it, she was glad to find it on sale, and I was glad that she decided it was what she wanted after all.

That's kinda bizarre... but it shows that you really DO get her style, even if she doesn't realize it. :)

And this is what I looked like Jan 1 2010. New skin and hair. Then I saw the Avatar movie.

The new Avatar avatar (do I have a stutter?) is very cool. I haven't seen the movie yet.

I like your New Year girl too, quite charming, rather a "spoiled innocence" look that is different from your usual sultry one.

Thank you for the comments about the avatar based on the film Avatar.
From: Nika Talaj
That IS good, Lexii! Where did you get it?

There was a thread claiming that LL removed all the "Avatar"-related content from Xstreet, but if so it appears to have bounced right back there!
.

The skin is technically an aqua elf. from Felidae Elvens Female Aqua Aqua. um, that's the skin name. Hopefully that invovles a store name somewhere.

G'night an g'morning, threadsters!

First off, Happy New Year. I think it's still at least new-ish, and has "that new year smell" still. I hope everyone has an amazingly fun weekend an a blast ringing out the old and ringing in the new.

For myself, the end of the year is always a reason to wrap up old projects. I dug a few things off my workshop's shelves and put them into form. Many of them will make their way to my store. The first one out is my baby blocks, finally. I also redid my workshops to make them a bit more efficient for me. And at the end of the weekend, I finally finished building my parcel in Miramare that's been sitting on the back burner since the Summer. Which is obvious to some, given it sells snow cones!

Anyway, this is the place. I call it Miramare Place, and I was trying to match the decor of the neighbors, the feel of an older SL region, and work within the constraints of a difficultly-shaped, 89 prim plot with no terraforming allowed. This is the result:

Come by an sit a spell, get some information and cool landmarks, and enjoy a snow cone served up by the SnoKone Robot. :-)

A-course, it was new year's, an I did fireworks on Livingtree. Here's one of the few shots I managed to get. Hard to snap and shoot off the big booms at the same time!

I did go to the Linden-y ball drop as well, an participated in the big snowball fight too. I did not get nearly as many Lindens this year, mostly cuz less seemed to be out to get. Kinda a shame, really. Oh, and I went to Show and Tell in Avaria, a greatful dead cover band at the Ryman Auditorium in Bay City - Falconmoon, and zipped around a few other places.

There was some time for exploring, including checking out the new Tableau, which is now a mid-western-y (or maybe Maine-ish) town in Winter. Very pretty, and probably my second-favorite version of Tableau now (my first is the desert South-West version). Hre I am heading down their Main Street, past the diner.

I also explored the Bentham Forest, in the Wasted Night sim. That's very awesome, and not just because the whole build is a bit over 2000 prims. It's like the dark and twisted cousin to the Chakryn Forest. It has some fun quests just like Chakryn, and is quite a site. Yes, I took piccies. Here's one of a cavern in the region, which was picked as a "Best of Snapzilla" this weekend.

Otherwise, I spent time with family and friends, and enjoyed the possibility of a new year and new decade. The weekend ended with my siblings, playin' ball in the street out in front of home.

And that's about it. I hope everyone has a super week ahead of them, and may this year help usher in all of our best dreams towards our realities. :-D

Ladies and Gentlemen: Introducing Jig Chippewa
01-04-2010 06:55
I hung out with Jiggy last night, at a skin store, and then at her gallery/sky box in Zindra. Jig took some pictures of both of us: I think, for reasons that I find hard to quantify, that she's a really good SL photographer. Which makes it all the stranger that she has never posted a pic of her self here. I've tried to convince her that she needs to create a Flickr gallery of her photography.

I find it really odd that someone who has created for herself such a powerful and distinctive presence here in the RA forum has never posted a pic of herself, and doesn't use a forum avatar. I think we need to know what Jiggy looks like. So . . .

Heeeere's Jig:

Here's a pic she took of me that, simple as it is, is nicer than any I've ever taken of myself:

And one of Jig and I:

Jig's place is also an art gallery, with some really lovely art of all sorts. I really like this pic:

We need to convince Jiggy to start posting her pics, here and elsewhere!

Mom's recovery's moving along pretty well, Josh. :) She is now in a rehab center, right at the hospital, and is now focused on her physical therapy.

lol, it's my dad that I'm worried about, since of course he's worried about his love, and cannot be with her 24/7.

All of this is...made more...challenging by the fact that my mom is in the early stages of Alzheimer's. :(

So...we're hanging in there! :)

There's one of Weston on the bar behind me in one of the other threads (auld lang syne, I think). Does that count? He was, actually, dancing up there, flowers coming out of him and stuff.

I couldn't do the "right click, save texture as" thing. So I tried a screen shot. May have gotten the proportions all messed up and it came out a little blurry.

Well, Treasure IS awesome and I couldn't see very well for some reason. I had to rely on my other finely honed senses.

Good.....assume it qualifies as a table dance. His hat is so big that it almost looks like a lampshade, yes? So, with a little imagination, you have your requests met, table dancing and lampshade on head. :)

Great story!! One of life's little victories.

A few years ago, while the housing bubble was still inflating fast, my sister-in-law and her husband bought a house, not yet built, on a new development. Then they saw another house that they liked better and tried to back out of the deal they had already made. No go. So they sold the house privately and made a $200,000 profit "flipping" a house that wasn't even built yet.
