Okay so a bit of false advertising but I made a little video home tour of my new house. I wanted to see if I could shoot video with my settings maxed out on ultra using this pretty easy to use gaming video capture software called Xfire. It's really easy to use and does all the encoding for you and uploads it to their website with only a bit of degradation in quality. Easy peasy with just a few clicks. I'm lazy so it's raw unedited footage. The house is still a bit of work in progress until the prims runs out and I'm making some other little house and gardening projects. One day when I stop being so lazy, I might actually get around to packaging some of my crap to put up for sale but I sorta just enjoy the building part. The business stuff is too much like real life and is monotonous and annoying. Welcome to my house. Please come in! http://www.xfire.com/video/1d10c4/ (watch it full screen for the best quality) My favorite part was "my glowing ba [backspace backspace] orbs"... ![]() |

Hey, I like the stuff you built! Really nice, especially the lamps. And what is the aurora-borealis looking bit over near the shark? My favorite part was "my glowing ba [backspace backspace] orbs"... ![]() I've spent most of my life searching, in vain, for a man with glowing orbs . . . ![]() _____________________

I've spent most of my life searching, in vain, for a man with glowing orbs . . . ![]() If they are glowing that probably means he has been exposed to a lot of radiation and they don't work any more. _____________________

Hey, I like the stuff you built! Really nice, especially the lamps. And what is the aurora-borealis looking bit over near the shark? My favorite part was "my glowing ba [backspace backspace] orbs"... ![]() Thanks! And yes I'm busted on that account. You are so observant Malia! I was going to type something rude about the orbs but thought I'd keep it PG. Oh and just to be clear I didn't make everything in that video. The house is a Rustica home and came with my plot. I made the trees with the fireflies and butterflies. All the flowers and stuff I made. I also made the hammock, lifeguard thing, deck chair, particle gardens, paper lanterns on the strings, tire swing, rainbow beam, magic crystals, glowing orbs, the display picture frame with Mona Lisa, the virginity bed, and desk with writing animation. I wish I was good at sculpties that I could make that shark. It was actually a group gift from Valiant menswear but I just added the pose. The aurora borealis particles I bought from a particle store called Xidd and put them in a sculpty rock. Pine trees were from Hearts. Cherry tree and the sunbeam were from Botanicals along with the Christmas tree. Plain xmas stockings were from Bare Rose. Couch was a group gift from Argrace, floor pillows Mudhoney Designs, Christmas Story leg lamp was from HOC(??). Weather system which I forgot to show is from Damanios Thetan. Yoga mat I can't recall where it's from. Oh and if anyone is looking to rent there are varied size plots available on the sim including a small and larger one right beside me. There's also a nice public pond area in the middle of the sim. It's part of the larger ninjaland.net group and they have various lightly themed sims. I looked for a long time and it seems well managed so far with a reasonable cov and I think the rates are pretty fair going for about 2.1L/prim on a full estate. Hit me up if anyone wants more info since house hunting can be such a chore. _____________________

ok, new rules (the first of many, i am sure)
#1 NO playing on the internet while cooking *sigh* #2 NO taking shortcuts and cooking with prepackaged spices *sigh* #3 NO using bizarre spices in place of spices you know belong in a recipe just because you don't have them handy (this is really a addendum to #2) *sigh* _____________________

If it is the one I am thinking of that did major damage to San Francisco, then I remember it. I was back and forth from Kansas City to San Francisco a lot then. Luckily I was in KC when it hit. Seeing the results was very scary. it is the one that collapsed the Embarcadero and a portion of the oakland bay bridge. scary and horrifying. _____________________

Another nice freebie for the ladies - you do have to join the group, but you can leave it right after getting the gown. Here's the slurl -- in thru the door, turn left almost 180 degrees and you'll see the group join and gown sign. It will be available for a few days still.

That's a super vidi, Josh. If you're going into business, I'd be interested in the rock with the flowers (low-prim, yay), the desk and the life preserver. ![]() Love the Rustica stuff. Nice sim to explore, too. _____________________

Okay... so I sent a note to another (non-SL) forum to which I belong, holiday wishes, you know, and hoping that the next decade will be better than the decade which is ending... and a woman I know, sent me a note explaining that my mistake was just like the one when people thought that 2000 was the beginning of a millennium when it was actually the end of one, there having been no "zero year"... HA! I told her that no calendar was perfect, pointed out that September, October, November, December should be the seventh through tenth months (if you go by their names), but we put up with their being the ninth through twelfth... my point being that it is all convention. AND that 2000 was called the "zero year" by many people. Besides, any ten year period is a decade. As for wishing that the one will be better than the last: Amen to that sister. _____________________

If they are glowing that probably means he has been exposed to a lot of radiation and they don't work any more. Yes, but "don't work" in what way, exactly? I don't much mind if they "don't work" in generative sense . . . It was watching him edit his own comment that tickled me so much. Yeah, it's kind of cute how self-conscious he obviously was . . . ![]() _____________________

those are all reasons to GTFI. i love the governator. he was good in kindergarten cop! oct 17, 1989. bad one. i even felt that one where i live, and heard it coming to boot. banged my head and everything. It was my mom's birthday. The San Francisco Giants and the Oakland Athletics were just about to start Game 3 of the 1989 World Series. My husband and my mom were watching it on tv while they waited for me to get ready to go out for dinner. We put off going until we got my brother on the phone. He lives in Sonoma County and we wanted to make sure they were all ok. In a weird coincidence, 3 of the people I worked with at the time had close relatives on the Oakland Bay Bridge when the earthquake hit. One of them got off just before the bridge collapsed and the others were not too seriously hurt although one group were stuck in their car for hours. My big problem with California is that you have to DRIVE everywhere. I had a super-long commute when I lived there and there was NOTHING along the way, nowhere to stop and take a break except for Jack In The Box. I'm not a car person anyway. I did enjoy my train ride to Oregon - beautiful scenery the whole way. _____________________

I'm glad to know that the Xfire app has come such a long way since I last used it, I will have to give that another try. The particle aurora is very cool, I'll have to dink around with my particle generator and see if I can't figure it out. |

He's not the worst governor we've ever had. At least he seems to be trying to do something to save the environment. Not that I ever voted for him. I did enjoy "Total Recall" and the "Terminator" series, which is more than I can say for anything R. Reagan was ever in. Did you know that Reagan turned down the role of Rick in "Casablanca"? |
