From: Tod69 Talamasca Whats an "earthquake"??? We dont get those in Pittsburgh. Just snow. No shaking ground, no buildings collapsing..... just idiots who lived here all their life & still act like they can't drive in it. I'll take snow & ice over the earth's mantle shaking anytime. Ok.... on 2nd thought.... I'd love to experience an earthquake! Just for the geology geek in me. Just to say " I experienced the earth's mantle moving". Heh! California gets earthquakes, forest fires, drought..... Arnold as Governor.....I think God is telling you folks something!! GTFO!!! Well now, you really minimized the things that lots of snow can do, eh. And then there's the folks who have hurricanes, tornadoes; everybody got something. (Course, as you say, having Arnold kinda trumps all the rest of the bad things......you have a point there.)

My part of Colorado doesn't really have anything other than idiot drivers, on and off the snow. Tornadoes east of me a bit, avalanches in the mountains, floods in the flatter areas around here, wild fires south and west, but the suburb that I'm in doesn't really have to deal with any natural disaster other than a 3-4 ft 24-hr snow dump every few years. /me crosses fingers and knocks on wood.

Glad to hear people are ok.
I'm glad I live in a place where extreme weather etc is rare. I can't remember any Hurricanes/Tornados at all, Never gets hot enough to cause fires. And I've only ever felt one earthquake, and that was minor as far as I remember. A few people had a bit of damage, but not much. I remember being sat on the sofa in our flat on the 11th floor, and the sofa moved just enough for me to feel it (and see the ripples in the fish tank). If I'd have been asleep I'd never have felt it.
We've had a few floods recently though, and the last snow attack cause a fair bit of disruption, but I think thats more to do with us being unprepared and a bit wimpy when it comes to ice. The time it takes for them to react and start to grit the roads is stupid.
Brann, please don't start the cupid stuff yet! I hate going through it all as it is, without having it extended lol. You don't look a very happy cupid either... :/

Yeah, Claire, and how many minutes of sunshine do you get in an average year? Just saying. I must admit I always find earthquakes to be frightening. But 40+ years in California I've only felt about a dozen. Not that THE BIG ONE isn't due any minute.

Biggest one was in Northridge, in the what, 70's? Knocked me out of bed, I lived in L.A. at the time, close to the San Fernando Valley where that one was centered. That was a bad one. The rest, meh, not so much.

My biggest one was in the early 90's, I think, I was up in Big Bear near the epicenter when the aftershocks came. They were pretty strong. My husband was in a huge one in El Centro in the 80's. He said you could see the street and the telephone poles going up and down in waves and all the water in the next door neighbor's pool jumped the fence into his backyard. Too wild for me.

From: Kaimi Kyomoon Yeah, Claire, and how many minutes of sunshine do you get in an average year? I'm not sure how many minutes of sunshine we get, but Denver averages 300 sunny days a year, which is pretty surprising given the amount of snow we also usually get.

Living about an hour away from a major fault line, we feel tremors once in a while, tornadoes also, but our biggest thing is lake-effect snow...we get dumped on every few years or so

Didn't feel the quake here at all, as I'm about 3 hours to the north. From the news reports, looks like damage was minimal, for which I'm glad.

I just came back from eating Thai with my brother and nephew and omg the little dude had on the cutest hat. I so want a Pook Toque! You can roll up the socks in different styles and they're also reversible and it looks like you're wearing sock earflaps. They'd be great for snowboarding at Whistler. http://www.pook.ca http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4d121TAubk4

From: LittleMe Jewell Update -- they answered my question and I got sick all over again:
"we are aimed towards a gentlemen club feel, so there wont be any services provided such as sons or brothers at this time- however in the future we plan to incorporate this and other fetishes.
*EDIT* but for now staffing will be females, guests will be male or female, we would probably open another section for male employees if that was something desired and affordable." Hmm, or maybe THIS one is more appropriate...
