Awwwwww...!

I took Boomer to the Vet, then to the Dog Park today. At the aprk was the most adorable 4 month old Golden Retriever puppy. He was so soft. :) The little guy was fearles, hanging right with the bigger dogs, only occasionally having to hide behind his Mommy.

After seeing Rhonda's thread about the new account page, I went to take a look. It's fine. Nice that friends list, buy lindens, other stuff is all there. I was surprised that I could look up my groups and land donation from that page, too.

The LL blog also said they streamlined the sign-up, which I think is true... but it put me in mind of slnamewatch.com.

Do you know what is the MOST USED last name in Second Life? you would never guess.

It's GossipGirl. There are EIGHT TIMES as many people with that last name than the next most common, Core. (And it's still available.)

Of the least commonly used, these last names tie. Only one person has each of these names:

Barangaham
Zamarung
Valimedzic
Qargen
Mimiteh
Huillermeyer
Domzarjs
Oysternatz

In fact, if you go through the list of least-commonly used names, it looks as though a group of D&D enthusiasts got drunk or high and spent an evening shouting out nonsense syllables into a reel-to-reel tape recorder.

There are some jewels in the low-frequency names, though. I particularly like Serrari and Kinomis, and some like Smedley, Crannock, and Mactavish might be useful.

I've got a list of first names I like too, but none of the possible combos are striking any flame.

The new webpage isn't doing it for me. I don't like the color scheme, it seems too sterile and geeky, and most of the stuff on it is pretty much of no interest to me. The account settings and Lindex areas are just about the only thing I'd use. Most of the other is stuff I really don't care about accessing if I am not inworld. I'd like to be able to hide most of it. Meh.

Fashion find of the day (well, of yesterday) - these sunglasses by Bukka. Nine lens colours, nine frame colours, all in one package. Worn on nose, on head, in pocket, or (if you've got prims to spare) in a display case you can rez out. You *can* buy them individually, but the full colour change pack is only twice as much as a single pair.

Bigger:

Those that like them, there are three lucky chairs in the store, too. From what I can see, they also sell boots and belts (male as well as female).

Go forth and spend money! :p

I've heard rumor that it will be customizable later - at least enough to let us decide which little sub-areas we want on our page.

Whoa. I rarely use the SL home page, so I'd not seen it. I do like being able to find a lot of these items more readily...like who's inworld...buying lindens, etc. But what's the purpose of putting "My Groups" there?
